I’m the same way with ThredUP boxes now. I’ve also gotten my inventory under 1000 items and changed my eBay store to reflect that. So if I keep a bunch of low dollar items that are going to sit for a year they will end up costing me money in the long run for the larger eBay store.
I do frequent BST stores often and bring acceptable things that I won’t list there first, but if they don’t take it I either donate or if thredUP takes the brand I send it back in my next clean out kit. It’s all about rotation for me now. I don’t want to hoard things, I want them moving.
I feel you on being burnt out from the instability of self employment. I just got trained in on a part time job this week for a little bit of consistent pay.

I had an elderly lady in a dance class that came up to me and said she liked my top. The top I was wearing was a bit roomy around the middle. She went on to ask me if I was pregnant. I was so shocked because I was 62 yrs old! I couldn’t help but laugh and say no that I wasn’t but I was flattered. It would be a miracle If I was because I’m 62. We both got a big laugh out of that.😂 As far as you and your honey, thank you for sharing him with us. He’s a doll! Love your channel❤

One time I was driving from my home in buffalo NY, to my beach house in cape may NJ(~400 miles) alone with my two kids. In the middle of PA there was an abrupt lane closure and I put my blinker on and had to merge. A dude-bro in a big pickup acted like I side swiped him-when I safely merged at a normal distance-and proceeded to then follow me off the thruway in the next rest area. He then approached my vehicle and started knocking on my windows. I immediately called the police. They came fairly quickly and got the guy to F off but it was to this day the absolutely most terrifying moment of my life. If it was a woman, would have been scared but not as scared as I was. Men should never ever ever approach a woman in a conflict situation like that bc we all think the worst, as we should. Now I have a taser and a pepper spray in my car lol

I have tried selling several times for several months on Mercari. The amount of time i spent crosslisting there does not pay off for my time. I have 1200 listings on it and would get 2 sales a month. Posh i have 10 a day same for ebay. so mercari is a no go for me, even with the less fees.

This video was just so relatable to me it’s crazy. FYI, you handled that guy wayyyy better then me, I have a big Sicilian mouth (but I’m only 5’2”) and it probably would’ve turned into a situation. I’ve been a full time reseller for 5 years and currently looking for a permanent job again so that reselling can be on the side. And lastly, I’m exactly 3 years older than my husband and don’t think it’s a huge age difference 🤷🏻♀️ Happy Belated Birthday 🎉
I feel that you handled that situation perfectly. You responded in the best way possible by remaining calm and not giving into him (aka fueling his frenzy-narcissism) when he confronted you. There are people who behave badly throughout the world. This particular man that you encountered sounds very much like a malignant narcissist if not a psychopath or sociopath. First off by backing his car up and not budging and then maneuvering into YOUR parking spot! Secondly, by confronting you in order to attempt to get you to validate his narcissistic bad behavior as good. That is totally insane on his part. I have lived in So Cal my entire life and have to say that most people here are very nice. I live on the outer perimeter of LA County (Santa Clarita) and thankfully, have never encountered such a person. When my husband and I watch/watched COPS, Live PD and On Patrol Live, it never ceases to shock us how badly people in these other states behave. I am not saying that people like that are not here because I've seen some on the news. Thankfully we haven't been exposed to them. I am always uncomfortable going into Los Angeles and Hollywood, especially the garment district, so I never go without an entourage of family members as there's safety in numbers. I will say that people definitely do drive worse the more one gets closer to the heart of LA and Hollywood, as the traffic is WAY more intense. Thank goodness you got out of that situation safely. I have been crosslisting on Mercari for awhile now. I have noticed that I am getting significantly more sales now that they have implemented the return policy. So far I haven't had any returns. I had reservations initially, but they only have a small window to initiate the return so "renting" would be extremely difficult and I write really good item descriptions most of the time (complete with measurements) so I'm hoping returns won't become an issue. I have returns turned on for most of my ebay items with the exception of health and beauty aids/makeup since I know I don't swatch items I intend on selling but can't guarantee a buyer making a return didn't. I'd much rather have a return than an INAD or a person maliciously damage something to try to force the return.
Oh man I hear you about being self-employed! Been doing re-sale full-time for over 6 years no but going through all of these feelings today... browsing jobs on Indeed right now. ALSO, married to the love of my life who is 3 years younger than me and looks younger than he is too. I don't even think about it until I see photos of the 2 of us. But if he doesn't care, then I don't either :)

I have decent sales on Mercari. Never had a return or bad review. Many sellers have left , but I’ll hangout until it’s a problem for my business. Word is that they are on the verge of bankruptcy.

A younger guy driving a Land Rover = not used to being told NO, and probably was struggling with the reality that the world doesn't revolve around them. Good life lesson. I live in a little town that was amazing prior to Covid... post covid New Yorkers and Connecticut elite have moved in and pretty much ruined this town. THEY ALL behave like this guy. He only wanted to show you why you were wrong and he was right... I bet you kept him up all night! LOL... good for you for standing your ground. I list on Mercari via my cross listing platform. I havent sold ANYTHING since the fees went away. I am sure my prices are too high now... they don't have a bulk edit, so now my new listings are going up with free shipping to help absorb the buyers fee. We will see... Poshmark hasn't been great either for me, but I must admit, I have been busy with my Appraisal business... so I have not been listing either.
I've noticed more entitlement in people as well as people who seem to live for escalating conflict. I hate it. That was a tough and random situation. Glad you are ok.

Mercari is really pushing sellers to give free shipping now that there are no fees. But they don't have the shipping options like ebay or Posh.😊
I love your chatty work with me videos! I have shoes from thread up boxes that have literally been sitting for 4 years, so I get why you don't list some of them. I made a profit on all of the boxes, so not a biggie, but when I ordered the boxes I looked at it as just for fun. Everyone's business model is different. As I am approaching 50, I have noticed that some people in their 20s and 30s have a sense of entitlement. I think that's what that ass wipe's deal was. The older I get, the more I just want to stay at home and not deal with people 😂😅😅😅

Hi. I just recently found your channel. I like that you're in LA county. I'm from there. I saw the video with Robert. You do not look older than him at all. I think it was sweet of him to want to be a part of what you do. So many men don't have that kind of interest. It was a fun video to watch. On dogs: I rescued a dog at 4.5 years old. He was basically unadoptable. He like my 2 previous dogs were returned by previous owners. All my dogs were sweet loving best buds to me. Toby my current dog never socialized with other dogs or people. He's tolerant of my relatives who visit. He hates strangers, loud noises and things with wheels. Lol. He never learned outside potty training so I have an indoor area for him. I tried teaching him too. He pooped as soon as he came back inside. He has some medical issues that I find hard to cover.
But, I would not ever give him up. He's my baby who's now 14. He's cuddly and lovable. You probably already have plenty of chew toys for your dogs. I think you have to catch him in the "bad" act then give him a chew toy to replace it . Very soon after I got Toby, I found a chewed up shoe. He never chewed anything else. No idea why. Maybe he was scared of the new environment. Anyway, sorry if I'm telling you what you already know.

Sounds like Soren and Luna were definitely meant to be brother and sister. Neither likes daycare or are big social butterflies lol but hey that's ok. All I can think when I see those wholesale companies advertising boxes of those trendy brands is “how many people are out here buying the same ideas to resell and oversaturating these styles?” The only wholesale I like is thrifting wholesale, people who thrift specifically for resellers. I can be sure they’re not finding the a ton of the same piece for a bunch of people, you can tell the wholesaler your list of buy and don’t-buy items and some will let you pick individual items instead of mailing you a box of random junk you don’t get to vet first

The problem with air tags is you have to be around other iPhones for them to work. They aren’t the best in rural areas. But just make sure you know how to mark it as lost when you’re trying to find them. My advice (from experience) is to Figure it out before you need to find your lost item - sometimes you are in a panic (I was) and can’t think clearly ( mine was my dog) .. love these chatty work with me videos..

Omg I had to comment again to say this. People can be so rude with their age assumptions. My husband went prematurely gray from having radiation for an illness, and his hair never went back. So people think he is 10+ years older than me, but we are only 4 years apart. We have had many many rude comments over the years………..

Mecari lost me with their shipping rates. I use ebay as well as crosslist to posh. Personally i think they should just fix shipping rates. having to adjust or use a 3rd party to do my shipping annoying so i avoid. They could figure out how to do cubic rates or offer flat rate shipping options.
I think you were right but I would have driven away. There are too many people who start shooting at other people for stupider things.
A somewhat sneaky thing Mercari did is you are still being charged the seller fee if you don’t update your listing. I sold something about a week ago and got 10% fee and will have the withdrawal fee as well when I want to transfer money.
That guys is a true asshole, I can't believe he thought he was right! You are right to be uncomfortable, these days people are crazy and could cause bigger problems. Once when I was waiting for my husband outside his workplace, a guy stopped his car and asked me to roll down the window, when I did (I didn't know any better) he threw water at me. You were in the right for not moving the car, people should stop giving in to his demands, I think he believes he is a king or someone really important. If someone does something like that, and you are able to record it, it would be good because if things escalate, you have evidence. I am glad you are safe, I know things could have gotten worse because people these days are very violent and things escalate very quickly.

I'm between the rock and hard place too. I agree it's good to have options. We all love the flexibility but it can be so consuming mentally. When I crunch numbers and look at how much I'd make if reselling was my side job I wonder if I would enjoy making a switch. I absolutely miss paid vacations and 401k. How much is the dilemma.

Cloudveil is either great or meh depending. It used to be an amazing brand, but then it got sold/bought and the quality took a nose dive. If it's merino wool and feels akin to smartwool its likely one of their older/nice pieces.

I lost so much weight due to medical issues, and used to hide from people because I couldn’t take the comments about my weight 😢 Thank god I started lifting weights and gained the weight back because it made me feel very depressed.
My understanding is there will be no seller LISTING fees. It still will still charge a 10% commission on sale and the $2 processing fee. Thus there are still fees for the seller. PS - The guy was a jerk! pss... I also had someone ask me when I was due just because I was in the maternity Department of a store. I immediately responded back that I was just fat like they were...lmao... Technically i wear a size 12 so..... people are just so rude. psss... 3 years age difference is nothing. Back in the day I often dated guys 13 years younger and they never suffered for it. My current long term 20 years so far is 15 years older than me. Age means nothing.

I'm sorry this happened to you. I had a s*xual encounter with a man in the thrift store parking lot four months ago. I was not hurt. I was traumatized and didn't want to go back. But it is my honey hole, where I get the majority of my inventory and have powered through it. But it has been hard.
People are so weird, you were way nicer to both the parking space guy and the comment about your video. I am getting ready to turn 52 and something about my 50's has made my filter change lol! People just don't think before they type anymore 🤦♀️ My dogs have left the outside cushions alone so far but my crazy girl likes to drag blankets and towels outside and play tug-o-war with them. Idk how many throw blankets I've had to replace 😂

I adhere to good manners when driving, I understand that a zipper merge isn't someone butting in line unlike many drivers but that guy's level of entitlement was extreme and frightening! "I saw it before you did therefore its mine?" Seriously? I wouldn't budge and the road rage wasn't owning to you but totally on him. I'm sorry you even questioned your own conduct because that was deranged. I will tell someone once to back up and end their harassing behavior and then I call the police. I'd want this guys license number on file because I had someone show up at my house once. For as rich and normal as he looked, his behavior said psychopath.

Unfortunately there are people whose egos tell them that they are right ALL THE TIME and that feeling inside that they were wrong has to be stamped down by you validating that it was YOU not them. These people stink and those around them can’t stand it any more so they get the heck away when the ego flares up
