    My annotations
    0:02 Dream Minecraft Cheated????
3:47 Voroshilov was a rival of Tukhachevsky, another guy who I have a video about (cough cough check it out after this one)
4:51 MOSIN MAN MOSIN MAN MOSIN MAN
6:06 If you're wondering why I created such an awkward sentence trying to include the name "Pushkin", it's so I could advertise my other video about his successor, Lermontov, to you right now.
9:13 I wanted with every fiber of my being to put a picture of kennyS here, but sadly not enough people would have gotten the reference
20:33 Mariya Smirnova on the left, Nina Onilova on the right. Mariya Smirnova wasn't actually there to the extent of my knowledge, but I used her image in place of other servicewomen who had no surviving photos. Nina Onilova was one of the meeting's star attendees, and Pavlichenko actually rode to the meeting with her.
22:19 The more astute among you have probably noticed that I have been censoring the swastika in this video. Even though the censored flag may be historically inaccurate, I think the downsides of putting the swastika in everyone's faces far outweigh the benefits. Also, the Nazis deserve to have their flag neutered, why not.
26:30 Pavlichenko was worried about being on planes and specifically asked about this. Despite how fearless she was in combat, Pavlichenko was afraid of heights. She actually joined the shooting club in Kiev as an alternative to a parachuting class, which she found too nerve-wracking.
    29:03 funni
    37:11 now
36:07 The reason "1974" sounds out of place here is because I had initially and mistakenly said "1947" in my original recording. I was going to just ignore it but I thought that this was the worse possible place for that sort of mistake.
37:26 Best part of video (please watch to the end I beg you)
Several days of editing have unhinged me.

I lived in Odessa from 75-90 and my school was a couple of blocks from the 25th division street but I never knew Lyudmila fought there. My Jewish grandfather fought in the 25th as well, he’s still missing in action, we don’t even know where he perished. My dad was 6 months old on June 22. Great choice of music, I always have tears in my eyes whenever I hear it. Thank you for the video, subbed.

May the Lord look after your grand father, and all those who fell, at such a young age. I know their families obviously needed them, and their children missed them. Let's always remember to fight and eliminate fascism in any form that it developes, and werever it appears.
      May they be remembered.

Truly the honor to be buried in novodevichy (I think its called) Valery legasov, ilyushin and the most famous were buried there. :) (You could have mentioned valery tho, man got removed from history completely, which is sad... But he got HOTSU after his death so atleast something) You could maybe talk about him in a future video...?

For once TH-cam has shown something's worthwhile in the recommended,i wish you growth, friend,as this is very good quality of historical coverage of mere individuals, even though great ones. Shes a hero of our people, and will always be, as well as everyone who bled for their families and country. Thank you for this good material, truly.

Lyudia, in her question answering, was just incredulous that all the female reporters wanted to know was about her makeup and uniform, which was inane of them. This was serious to her. And her quote was @ “ haven’t you hid behind my skirts for too long?” She was there to help persuade the Allies to open that second front we’d been promising but didn’t happen until mid year, 1944 anyway.
This woman was incredibly brave and felt very justified after traveling through her war torn country and seeing what the fascists left in their wake and never forgot it. I’d hate to have been in her head during sleeping hours; after what she saw and experienced. 🙏RIP Lucy! ❤️👏👏

-It is unfortunate that she had to shoot the enemy soldiers in the abdomen to cause screaming and pain in that soldier because this produced confusion and chaos with the other German soldiers.
-A head shot would be more humane.

By no means did she, “have to"...in fact, quite the opposite. She CHOSE to lower herself to a level as much if not more utterly despicable than any real or imagined so-called, "fascists" which she hated so much. Obviously, a staunch proponent of Bolshevik ideals and doctrine.

This could have been a good video except for the constant interuptions of over loud music and stupid breaks with different sections. And the bit with about Roosevelts wifes driving was trivial and pointless. My advice, do it again as one long video cutting out the pointless section bits, and drop the music, or turn it down, it proves nothing. And it was a pity she died so young, she was an outstanding woman and a role model.

Btw she gave birth to her son when she was 15 or 16.
Also as far as I remember her father was an NKVD officer so he helped her to enlist as a sniper. And her mother was an English language teacher.
She had joyful character (I mean she definitely wasn’t a sociopath or a silent killing machine who likes to be alone) liked to have fun and so on.
She served in the NKVD after the war(later in the police, when NKVD was ).
Also several of her descendants were serving in the soviet police.
There is a Russian made film “fight for Sevastopol”, which by the opinion of her relatives wrongly described her character. In this film she was portrayed as a silent sociopath-sh, though she wasn’t such in the real life.
    Disclaimer:
It’s not a hundred percent correct) it just as I remember it. You better check these facts up for yourself

    • @darkhope97
      @darkhope97 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

To be fair to me it didnt seen that way her character is presented a a cheerful one but weighted down by the war around her

    • @kevinramsey417
      @kevinramsey417 2 ปีที่แล้ว

She was kind of a sociopath all right, but it only applied to the Germans. You may hate fascism but you will never hate it like Lyudmila did. After the war she was asked what it was like to kill people and her amazing reply was "I wouldn't know. I didn't kill people, I killed fascists."
It is speculated that this response caused an 8-bit pair of sunglasses to descend upon her face.

But still, i respect Markos and Aris, because they were genuine.
