Taking you through in 22 minutes, here is the timeline and compilation of logos and station idents used by ABS-CBN throughout the years.
0:00 - Bolinao Electronics Corporation (BEC)
ABS-CBN Corporation was founded on 13 June 1946 as Bolinao Electronics Corporation, or BEC. It was established by James Lindenberg, one of the founding fathers of Philippine television, an American electronics engineer who went into radio equipment assembly and radio broadcasting.
0:06 - Alto Broadcasting System (ABS)
In 1951, Lindenberg partnered with Antonio Quirino, brother of then-President Elpidio Quirino, in order to try their hand at television broadcasting. The following year, BEC was renamed as Alto Broadcasting System or ABS. The initial test broadcasts began on September of the same year. The very first full-blown broadcast of DZAQ-TV was on 23 October 1953, of a party in Tony Quirino's humble abode.
0:17 - Chronicle Broadcasting Network (CBN)
On 16 June 1955, Republic Act No. 1343 signed by President Ramon Magsaysay granted the Manila Chronicle its broadcasting franchise, this leads to the formation of the Chronicle Broadcasting Network or CBN, on 24 September 1956. The network was owned by Eugenio Lopez Sr. and the then-Vice President Fernando Lopez, and later on launched its very own TV station, DZXL-TV 9, in 1958.
    0:22 - ABS-CBN Broadcasting Corporation
On 24 February 1957, Don Eugenio acquired ABS from Quirino and Lindenberg. However, it was only on 1 February 1967, that the corporate name was changed to ABS-CBN Broadcasting Corporation to reflect the network's merger.
    0:27 - First shutdown
Upon the declaration of martial law by Ferdinand Marcos, On 23 September 1972, ABS-CBN and its affiliate stations were seized. Eugenio Lopez Jr., the president of the company, was arrested in November 1972, then imprisoned and held without trial for 5 years until he and his cellmate Sergio Osmeña III launched a daring jailbreak on 1 October 1977 and taken exile in the United States together with their families.
    0:34 - Banahaw Broadcasting Corporation (BBC)/City Television 2
Roberto Benedicto, a crony of President Marcos and owner of the Kanlaon Broadcasting System (KBS), took over the ABS-CBN Broadcasting Center complex on Bohol Avenue in Quezon City after the KBS Studios along Roxas Boulevard in Pasay City were destroyed by fire on 6 June 1973, a few months before BBC went on air. The network would later be relaunched as the Banahaw Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) on 4 November 1973, with a completely new logo, slogan, and a theme song from Jose Mari Chan entitled "Big Beautiful Country" and sung by various artists.
    1:06 - Revival
At the height of the EDSA Revolution, military reformists, believing that television would be a powerful tool to aid the revolt, attacked and took over the ABS-CBN Broadcasting Center on 24 February 1986, former ABS-CBN talents put the station back on the air and televised the drama of the unfolding uprising, thereby contributing to the strength of the revolt. BBC, on the other hand, ceased operations after reformists shut down its transmitter in Panay Avenue, on the following day as the Channel 2 frequency was turned over to the Lopezes on 16 July 1986. The network began to rebroadcast to viewers once again starting 14 September of the same year.
    1:22 - The Star Network/Sarimanok
ABS-CBN was relaunched itself as "The Star Network", which noted for the then-brand-new numerical white tri-ribbon channel 2 logo with a white rhomboidal star, as a centerpiece of the network's revival. By 1988, ABS-CBN had regained its foothold in the Philippine TV ratings from dead last (#5) to being number 1 again nationally - as a result of the rebranding. In 1993, ABS-CBN launched a new ident which featured the Sarimanok, a mythical bird in Philippine folklore. It became utmostly associated with the network that ABS-CBN opted it to become the station's mascot.
    4:42 - New Millennium
The logo was given a major revamp on 1 January 2000, with the dawn of the new millennium. Keeping its famous symbol, the 2000 logo changed its representation of ABS-CBN from being just a radio and television broadcasting network into a unified representation of ABS-CBN being a multi-media conglomerate.
    6:03 - Kapamilya
ABS-CBN launched its present brand name "Kapamilya", during its 50th golden anniversary celebrations in 2003.
    20:43 - 2014 rebrand
ABS-CBN launched a minimally altered version of the 2000 logo, which aims to maintain the iconic structure of ABS-CBN's logo while at the same time giving it a new look suited for a period of popularity for social and digital media.
    21:56 - 2020 shutdown
On 5 May 2020, the NTC legally ordered ABS-CBN to cease its operations after their 25-year broadcast franchise expired the previous day.

ABSCBN was originally channels 3 for ABS and 9 for CBN. When the radio Network KBS goes on television aside from its radio stations, The ABSCBN channels 3 and 9 were transferred to ABS 2 and CBN 4 in the year 1969.
When martial law was implemented during September 23, 1972 under proclamation 1081, ABSCBN were forced to shut down and was actually forced to be sold out for Roberto Benedicto, who was the owner of KBS channel 9.
As a result, ABS channel 2 became BBC channel 2 which was owned by Roberto Benedicto and CBN channel 4 became owned by the Philippine Government.
The Broadcast facilities of ABSCBN were fully owned by Benedicto and by 1978, BBC channel 2,'together with RPN 9 (former KBS) and IBC 13 were in Broadcast city.
After Marcos was overthrown on 1986,the Aquino Government sequestered all channels of tv and radios and also Cory Aquino government wanted to take all properties and assets of Roberto Benedicto because he was a Marcos crony and also as a pay to the people due to the abuse of Martial law of Marcos.
    As a result, Channels 2, 4 9 and 13 were all government-owned.
BBC channel 2 was awarded to ABSCBN but not channel 4. Channel 4 remained as a government tv station and rebranded as PTV.

At the time, GMA DZBB-TV 7 was only independent commercial TV station to not have sequestered by then-new government, this was unlikely to have more than 3 government-owned TV stations in the Philippines. because of this, after ABS-CBN resumed it's commercial operations, ABC under DWET-TV resumed in February 21, 1992.
