GREAT SONG. this band keeps getting better and better. people need to give them more respect. for a scene that has a million bands that sound the same across the board its incredible they are able to sound unique. BRAVO
All blossoms die in the light of our new culture Find your belief in that which cannot be discovered Countless lessons lie in every fever dream A million voices asking, what does it all mean? I’ve lost all direction I’ve lost all my direction And now I wish, that I would have believed Could have believed Escape, escape Nature’s indifferent hand Retreat, retreat To the bliss of our creation We were born and raised To live beyond The heft and weight of a world undone Like a bird from the north Our hearts will roam in search of warmth Two hands come together to pray for greater yields Two poles of a compass guided by a field In the mind of every man, two ghosts dance Was this place made, or was it here by chance? I’ve lost all direction I’ve lost all my direction And now I wish, that I would have believed Could have believed Escape, escape Nature’s indifferent hand Retreat, retreat To the bliss of our creation We were born and raised To live beyond The heft and weight of a world undone Like a bird from the north Our hearts will roam in search of warmth Uncountable numbers written in new fallen snow I can hear the claws of the beast tapping at my window Nihilist sleeps and in dreams he sees god’s face Realize even disbelief requires a leap of faith From birth to death, we search for what’s yet to be known We and hope and pray and ask, but we are never shown Born and raised to live beyond The heft and weight of a world undone Like a bird from the north Our hearts will roam in search of warmth We were born and raised
Man, the voices in this band are so unique, one of the best combinations. I really wanted Alexisonfire to be my favorite band, it makes me sad that the equalization and melody of some songs it's just weird, and they didn't create that many hits. I'm currently listening to "city and colour", which is the solo career of of Dallas Green, one of the singers.
Absolutely. This song, and most of their new album is about spiritual enlightenment. This song is about someone who fell to the dark - ego - and realized that they should have believed wishing that they could have believed when they first saw us - enlightenment - but it was too good to be true. Then he understands the point of existence at all, to rise above, and that determination and hope is our humanity, we are all fighting for inner peace and must fight together to achieve it outwardly.
Uncountable numbers written in new fallen snow, I can hear the claws of the beast tapping at my window. Nihilist sleeps and in dreams he sees god’s face. Realize even disbelief requires a leap of faith. Such good lyrics.
george, dallas, and wade make a great trio for the vocals! i feel bad for george, but good for him for resting his voice. he doesn't need to prove us anything, we already know what talent he has!
PLEASE !! Do a Goodbye tour or something !! We need to see you on tour one last time !!! :( Like in the good old days when you guys came to the Metropolis in Montreal.
I personally think Alexisonfire should be headlining their concert's instead of playing 2nd to Billy Talent! Alexisonfire you rock and At the A.C.C I was sniffing line's of cocaine beside the drummer's mom! You rock and LIVE ON! PLEASE DO ATLEAST 2 MORE ALBUM'S
holy shit they filmed this at the chinatown market place in mississauga, and the restaurant within the market area, been to that place a million times, didnt even know they filmed it there ahah, gotta love alexisonfire
This, and Dog's Blood, are likely my favorite songs you guys do. PLEASE come out with more music...it's hard to think of a band I'm more excited to hear new stuff from. I know there was a long hiatus and things were uncertain for a while but now that you guys are back...full throttle baby!!!
i have never seen a band being so awesome live in my whole life. i'll probably take this farewell tour concert as the BEST CONCERT EVER, for the rest of my life. thank you guys. when you came to brazil, it meant the world to us.
Its not about how many people hear your music but how many people are touched by it.. And these guys right here make music that is amazing and doesnt get old and boring like gaga songs.
Man! What a rock I've been under! I loved their cover of The Dead Heart from Midnight Oil. and heard their name as they get a bit of airplay on the radio around here in southern Ontario, but have I ever overlooked a great band over the last decade! This is an AWESOME song AlexisonfireVEVO! Prompting me to checkout more!
I love it how this clip captures the energy of their live performance. They are one of the best, if not the best band I have seen live. I miss them already.
He used a lot of his material from Alexisonfire in City and Colour because he wanted them originally to be used in a different way than they were used for Alexisonfire.
@RaulStal This is great. I think Georges transition suits Dallas Greens dominating voice. Dallas sings almost every chorus in Young Cardinals/Old Crows.
so what's up with the screamer's vocals in the new album, I haven't listened to any songs except this and young cardinals but.. has he stopped screaming? cuz that definately is not screaming.. old Alexisonfire ftw!
2024- Still Vibing to this gem!
Same. Not sure why they don’t play this live this is my favorite song by them
The chorus in the song is magnificent
What isn’t in this song?
3 great vocals in one band.
I would agree although Dallas can't do his higher parts live anymore
@@chadcassidy1580 I really think he still can
Chad Cassidy You’re insane. His voice aged like a fine wine
One
@@maku_2002 agreed
love the combination of vocal styles, so rare for a hardcore band to be willing to let clean vocals have so much dominance in their songs
That's exactly what makes this band what it is. I personally wouldn't refer to this as hardcore. But I love it!
It's actually post hardcore
@@richcore Lol shut up.
@@ryleighs9575 He's right, don't try to insult someone for actually offering correct information
@@ryleighs9575 he's right though lol
The riff at the beginning is just too awesome \m/
This is nothing short of a rock and roll masterpiece by one of the best bands to ever exist. It checks all the boxes!
This band changed my life
Two of my favourite things ever, Chinese dragons/lions and Alexisonfire!
The best thing to come out of Canada since maple syrup.
@Ben Smith Unfortunately I have not had the pleasure.
Along with Trailer Park Boys and Ed Edd and Eddy
Old Crows / Young Cardinals is a perfect album from end-to-end. No weak tracks.
Can't believe this is the City and Colour guy. this is awesome!
This song got me into Alexisonfire, and it's still among my favourite songs by them
Accidents for me. But all their songs kick ass
10 years later I'm still coming back for more!! Such an amazing song 🤟💯
This is likely one of my top 4 by them ever.
:D
@Ben Smith happiness by the kilowatt will always be my number one 🤘🏻♥️
whose here still to this day listening, nothing compares.
GREAT SONG. this band keeps getting better and better. people need to give them more respect. for a scene that has a million bands that sound the same across the board its incredible they are able to sound unique. BRAVO
Fuck I wish i had have been more aware of this band first time around. Only really discovered them in the past couple of years.
My childhood is in this song. They ROCK! 🤟
Hey man enjoy it now! The music isn’t going anywhere
They finally played this at born and raised 24' for all those in the future coming back for more
All blossoms die in the light of our new culture
Find your belief in that which cannot be discovered
Countless lessons lie in every fever dream

The lyrics are ever so relevant right now!
How can a band that makes tunes like this split? Seriously? This was the perfect balance of screamo and melodic vocals.
"Even disbelieve requires a leap of faith"..... beautiful
props to wade for the screams. i love how this band will transition from heavy screaming into dallas's beautiful vocals. gold
Their three voices... Such a match... Can't wait for any new stuff from them !
SO HAPPY THEY'RE BACK!! (Even if it's just to preform at festivals!!) :D
FRET NO MORE
any 1 still listen to in 2020? best band hands down : )
Nope I’m with ya
Fucking beautiful song . And I mostly listen to rap .
still listening In Brockville Ontario. :~)
also they are theonlybandever
I'm planning to cover this song!

Uncountable numbers written in new fallen snow,

Such good lyrics.
I miss this band.I remember buying their CD back in middle school 2006.Luv you dudes❤️

has always been one of my favorite bands, will remain to be. Canada is proud of you
The vocal lines in this one play to Dallas' strengths for sure...a great listen.
Woohoo, Canada is proud!
so proud to say i got to go to the very last show of their farewell tour :') i miss them, but it was a good ride.
holy shit
they filmed this at the chinatown market place in mississauga, and the restaurant within the market area, been to that place a million times, didnt even know they filmed it there ahah, gotta love alexisonfire
man the Vancouver concert is gunna be sweet
Even after all those years, I'm still having the chills everytime the chorus start
As a non-native speaker I always understand 'opossum's day' in the beginning. Makes me smile every time.
This, and Dog's Blood, are likely my favorite songs you guys do. PLEASE come out with more music...it's hard to think of a band I'm more excited to hear new stuff from. I know there was a long hiatus and things were uncertain for a while but now that you guys are back...full throttle baby!!!
they did an album called Otherness
Can't Wait For Their Fairwell Tour...May Be The Last Tour...BUT IT Will Still Be An AMAZING Concert.
D-1, really can't wait for the new song!
i listened to these guys live in camden NJ. it was my first time hearing them and honestly they were sooo good
They're playing Toronto on December 26.
Ahh, I can't wait until they get here (Kingston, On) in December! I'm freaking OUT.
This song is so awesome... One band that does truly get better with age!

@xScreamToRisex Dallas is the one singing the chorus, with the white collared shirt on playing guitar. His side project is City And Colour.

They are have their final tour real soon :)
Cant wait to see these guys in Melbourne! SO PUMPED!
He uses the same melody as this chorus on 'Ladies and Gentlemen' from C&C-Hurry and the Harm, listen to the songs back to back, eery but cool.
He used a lot of his material from Alexisonfire in City and Colour because he wanted them originally to be used in a different way than they were used for Alexisonfire.
This song has the perfect blend of everything.
nice MV
I love this video. I never heard before about Alexisonfire until now... and they are so amazing.
im pretty sure i am going to see them live as much as i can i absolutly love aof !!!!
@RaulStal This is great. I think Georges transition suits Dallas Greens dominating voice. Dallas sings almost every chorus in Young Cardinals/Old Crows.
