I sell stuff on ebay as a hobby. It's no big business so don't expect a Master of Pieces style epic, just a few things here and there. The things are mostly books.
@@charlieuliginosa2494 eBay had a couple of months a while back where they weren't charging fees for private sellers. As a casual seller, I don't operate as a business per se, and don't have an eBay store. eBay also offers private sellers discounted fees every second weekend, which is when I do all my listing now as I don't have a high volume of stick to sell. This is subject to being invited and you have to maintain eBay's service standards.
@@stevenptew Thanks. I didn't know that. Useful to hear and look out for. Remarkable that you can sell books and make it worthwhile, with so many large used bookseller companies, on eBay, selling for v marginal prices with free p&p.
@@charlieuliginosa2494 It's impossible to compete with the big sellers on the same level. I've had some lucky finds, but some of my best sales have been books I bought years ago that are now rare and out of print. Other than that the only way to go is book bundles.
@@stevenptew I guess if you're not having to purchase inorder to resell that's more feasible. Also, your tactic of bundling is something the big players don't offer however the postal charges will restrict how many you can bundle. Do you use cardboard boxes for packing?
@@charlieuliginosa2494As much as possible I scavenge used cardboard boxes to cut down and wrap with craft paper bought in bulk. New boxes are too expensive to make it worthwhile. If I was selling loads that would be too time consuming. If it started to take over my life I'd probably quit eBay.
