      a b after watching film on both and dissecting important detail , if I was a GM I would draft Devin White first . Don’t get me wrong Devin Bush is a very good player with next to no flaws but Devin White is basically flawless. IMO White is more versatile which led to my decision.

    Imagine a Steelers team with a humble AB and Bell, a healthy Big Ben and Shazier and Connor, Dupree who I think fits his role well regardless of stats, and a confident Washington.

    • @huey2616
      @huey2616 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Would’ve been the best overall team in the NFL history tbh, there’s been good defenses and offenses, but never an overall team like that

    • @tornado7205
      @tornado7205 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Thing is though if Shazier doesn't get hurt we don't draft Bush. And it Bell and AB stay with the team and take a huge chunk out of the cap for us we probably don't trade for Fitzpatrick or sign Nelson.

    • @huey2616
      @huey2616 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Tornado720 maybe no Bush, but Shazier & Vince Williams. And we draft someone like Darnell Savage or Jeffery Simmons instead would’ve been ideal. And Fitzpatrick would’ve def happened still bc he was a need and a great player in his 2nd year, Nelson came cheap would’ve still happened too

    • @tornado7205
      @tornado7205 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Huey 2 Fitzpatrick probably doesn't happen actually. We traded for him because our safeties were terrible. Edmunds is average and Davis was very inconsistent but was also hurt his final season. We desperately needed a safety and that's why we traded for him. If we drafted savage then I doubt we trade for another safety. I wouldn't trade what we have done for anything. Simmons is nice but we have no need or him. The Steelers have led the league in sacks for the last 4 seasons I believe. We have Tuitt and Heyward for awhile. We will sign Watt. And Dupree is good too. Don't forget that it's not just our first round picks that would have changed. Our second and third round picks likely could have been different. If we still had Shazier and won a couple more games with him we may not have drafted JuJu, Washington, or Diontae Johnson. I love Shazier and I do miss the guy but it's crazy how one thing happening can lead a team down a completely different path.

  • @jasonmooreplease120
    @jasonmooreplease120 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I thought he did pretty stellar as a coverage man actually. I mean, it's one of those things where you need to watch all 16 games to really see it, but before Bush Vinny Williams really struggled playing zone coverage. Of course Mark Barron probably deserves a fair piece of that credit as well. We'll see how well inside coverage is this year without Barron.

    • @tornado7205
      @tornado7205 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Vince Williams isn't bad in coverage. He's average. Williams specializes against the run and rushing the passer. Mark Barron was actually rated one of the worst linebackers last season in coverage. He was fine against the run though.

    Just for reference, PFF ranked the best linebackers from the 2019 class and number one was Bobby Okereke from the Colts who was a late third round draft pick and didn't even play half of the defensive snaps, so if we are talking top five defensive rookies for 2019 then Devin Bush probably isn't even in the conversation. I'm not saying he won't be great, but right now he's a top ten draft pick at linebacker who isn't even the best linebacker in his draft class.

      @2kolbe010 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Explain

    • @Cristian-ng5cj
      @Cristian-ng5cj 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@2kolbe010 yeah ok, so on the first play bush beat mark Andrews who although he's a good recieving tight end is a poor blocker and has sought to improve upon that. Bush was still taken out of the play and it makes sense that Andrews would need help on the first play and it was a good run idk how that's a plus for bush. Second play Jackson said it best it was a low difficulty assignment he's fast (I'll give him that although I don't think he's as fast as people portray him to be, as opposed to Devin white who is blazing fast) so he got to Lamar but he still missed the tackle. Again not good. Third play was a bad call by the refs that was a highly questionable interception and he was covering Nick boyle who is one of the best blocking tight ends in the league in terms of recieving he's avg at best. Tough throw by Lamar, bush was lucky to be covering Boyle and gets the call his way but that's ridiculous there were alot of bad calls in favor/against both teams this was a clear example the angles of the tape shown in this vid don't do it justice. 4th play is fine bush makes a sound tackle I would expect that from more traditional linebacker prospect I had graded as a early 2nd Rounder. 5th play is luck. most linebackers better or worse than bush make that play. Good stat sheet play but film reveals the truth. Jackson addressed that Bush's coverage ability is not particularly good and he'll have to fix it theres a big difference between him and white in that area. Bush is a fine player playing on a defense with elite pass rush an elite safety on the back end and Tomlin who is a great defensive minded hc. Bush was getting hype since he was the closest thing to a first round linebacker in this draft other than white but he's fine he's not a star at least not yet. Steelers shouldn't have traded up for him. I get the Steelers have a great culture of winning and defense and drafting etc. So there's this hype and excitement for a bush especially coming after shazier but he's overrated and people need to stop.

    • @tornado7205
      @tornado7205 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      balti4s #79 lol whatever. It's a lose-lose situation with you. If Bush makes the easy play you criticize him for it. Yet if he didn't make the play you would say that he is bad. TJ Watt had a couple sacks last season where he came in unblocked for some reason. Should we criticize him for it because it was an easy play? Minkah Fitzpatrick had a fumble recovery that he scored on against the Rams because the ball just so happened to come his way. He also had an interception against the 49ers where the ball got tipped up and once again, Minkah was in the right spot and got the pick. Should we criticize him for making those easy plays? Like seriously, what kind of logic is that! You make due with the hand you're dealt. If the play is easy then you better make the play right? Well Devin Bush did make the play most of the time. Pittsburgh's defense was average at best for a long time and was absolutely terrible against the pass. As soon as they draft Bush and trade for Fitzpatrick, and even sign Nelson they have a top 5 defense in the league that carried a team with no QB to 8-8. So no, Bush is not overrated.
