Chris Gives Ryan Heartfelt School Advice! | The Quarry Glitch Uncovers SECRET REMOVED Dialogue [#2]

Secret cut dialogue is getting resurfaced due to a glitch I uncovered recently where i pause at the exact moment a camera changes/dialog starts and the full unedited audio from the dialogue plays in the pause menu! I get why they would cut this to keep the pace up, but also it would have made such a huge difference to understanding Chris' character and why Ryan cares about him so much! In the final script it felt like Chris didn't really care about him at all

If they kept this in I would've liked Chris way more. I didn't really feel any remorse when I killed him in my playthrough and I often got really frustrated with Ryan for trusting him so much.

I wish they kept this is bc obviously it makes Ryan’s denial more understandable and develops his character but also, Chris’s character was so lacklustre and seemed like he barely cared about any of them, including Ryan. When you have such a naturally charismatic and likeable actor like David Arquette its such a waste to cut all his dialogue and make his character flat and boring

The only thing I agree with in terms of them cutting this line is that it’s an awkward place to have it, like Chris is so frantic in this scene, it would be out of place for him to just stop and say, “hey, btw, go for art school”
However, this exchange needed to be in the game. Like by the time I got to the scene where Ryan shoots Chris, I knew that I was supposed to be upset by it, but I didn’t feel it

One thing I loved about this scene, and annoyed me about the final game with this is that Chris was said to be a nice guy (if goofy) and always thought of people, like how Ryan said. Having this conversation, they would have not only pointed out how much of a good guy Chris was (he even thought to give Ryan useful advice about animation school at a time when he was feeling the agitation from the moon coming, remembering their conversation from earlier), it also meant that Ryan would have had a point that Chris wasn't that kind of guy (or at least explain why he was so close to the man).
Chris having a chance to show a better opinion about himself and Ryan having better exploration would have been nice, but taking it out just did more harm than good.

This is a really awesome find, and I knew Chris was a good guy because he clearly tried to keep everyone safe. Not to mention when you're playing as Laura in the jail cell and he is at the station, he tells Travis how messed up it is that he still has them locked up.
Of course I also don't think Travis is bad either. He is just trying to make sure his family is safe. It's why he doesn't kill Laura and Max, even though that would have been the easy solution. It wouldn't have been difficult for him to cover up their disappearance given his position and the towns size. That's the sad part about the story really, is that no one is truly bad. It's just a bunch of people dealing with things out of their control or making mistakes that don't seem as serious as they are (Jacob and the van).

Right, like you can bypass the whole plot of Far Cry 4 by doing what they tell you to do.

@@olirikable I get why they didn't allow the option otherwise half of the players would finish the game earlier but they should have gaven an option after you beat the game to watch a movie mode version where the counselors decide to stay in the lodge instead

I’m pausing at the exact moment a camera changes/dialogue starts. Sometimes I pause and unpause multiple times to try to get the exact moment
