This is my translation from Japanese to English in purpose of educating the Western audience of the "Behind the scenes" of 2007's Yakuza (Ryu Ga Gotoku) movie. It includes interviews of the movie director and Nagoshi, and gives some insight into the thought process of the film.

If the director only played the first game then it would make sense as to why Kiryu just started shooting a bunch of guys near the end of the film, the game's car chase sequence doesn't make it seem like Kiryu is the "never killed anyone" guy.
Can we just appreciate the fact that the director actually took his time and effort to actually play the game? Not every director does that, where they look/read/play the source material for a better grasp of the world they're working with, at least from what we've seen in recent years.
While he said that I was thinking of the last Mortal Kombat movie where they pulled a new characters for no reason and also that weird "Arcana" thing.

@@dragonenterprise well, not on face, actually. He sits on his chest, but it was in soapland, so this scene was wrong from the very beginning. I recommend you to watch the movie, its not so bad

@@pinga_chanI like to think he had the same idea as the developers of 3 where they made the Kanda QTE extremely sus because they were in a love hotel lol.
Even though the movie has quite a lot of flaws I loved it and really enjoyed all the wackiness it brought. I think it captured the silly yet serious and perverse nature of kamurocho very well. Thank you for translating this! Hope to see more of these keep it up!

Although it has many problems I loved the Yakuza live action so it was really cool to learn a bit more about it behind the scenes. Glad to see videos like this are getting translated :)

While i enjoyed the hell out of this film, i feel he made too many unnecessary additions. I could care less for the bank robbers or that random couple. I think i understand why he added them, but the main plot is 100% more interesting. And that korean sniper making Yumi's sacrifice pointless was just... why, Miike. I wanted to see more of Nishiki, too. He was a really complex character and he got shoved aside.
At least this is a better adaptation than Amazon Prime

The score is made by Endo Koji but the weirdest thing is you can't find it anywhere on his discography. I've spent hours looking everywhere for an official release or even a sample but it looks like it's lost in time since the movie did underperform when it released. I absolutely love the theme but you can only find an unofficial extended cut on TH-cam taken from the dvd menu.
