Mr. Mac's (Bob) office (when he was a DPE) used to be next door to where I kept my 150 so I heard a lot of his old stories and he gave me my multi engine check ride. He is a great guy, I learned a lot from him.
Mr. Yeager made a mistake. You're every bit the type of aviator he always opined was the backbone of aviation. The ability to deal with a situation professionally and competently and bring your aircraft back. His loss.

Yeager was very much an A-whole on multiple occasions.
