It is literally one google search to find out that it is a Chinese proverb, not a japanese saying. Most attribute to the quote to Sun Tzu, who wrote the Art of War a few centuries ago.
Sun Tzu was a Chinese general, military strategist, writer, and philosopher who lived in the Eastern Zhou period of ancient China. Sun Tzu is traditionally credited as the author of The Art of War, an influential work of military strategy that has affected both Western and East Asian philosophy and military thinking.-wiki

It's actually pretty.... Fun , when you admit to the things that you keep holding inside you first even them try to rationalize why you shouldn't be like that , but then this sense of being hits, it's like what you try to deny is very close to the feeling you associate to your current self but it's a bit more freeing , it's like you finally grasped air after drowning , and then you notice what you really can do if you want , but the remaining parts of your "weaker" ego are there too , so you have to put everything in place , cause and I noticed that when you realize how powerful and dangerous you are , how capable , you tend to be swept by anger very easily and do things that are you wanted to do but couldn't and often those are hurting certain people or finally admitting to them how fcked up they are or how much you hated how they acted and how you can't accept it anymore. Congratulations you are now standing up for yourself but don't let it override your sense of morality cause when you unleash the "villain" in you , you notice how easy it's to make other compromise instead of you which isn't necessarily a bad thing until you become bit by bit a bully who takes revenge and acts on anger and hatred to everyone around him , to you shouldn't let it take control rather learn to unleash it and then suppress it and bit by bit you'll find the balance between the extremes using a perfectly logical sense of morality, but I never said it's going to be easy.

      You miss the point completely.
You say « toughen up » but thats the point of OC’s comment : its okay to be weak if you are actively getting stronger.
If you tell an obese dude who’s actually trying his best to lose weight by going to the gym and adhering to a strict diet that they are a scumbag or some shit, you are not helping them get stronger only discourage them from leaving weakness behind.
When you start at rock bottom, staying there is not okay, but being there while trying to get out of the hole is actually okay.
All strong peoples started out as weak at some point or another, we were all babies so even those who worked out since their earliest childhood used to be weak back when they did not work out
What I mean by that in the end is that progress should be encouraged, victim mentality should be discouraged but also one cannot progress if you constantly bar them from progress.

NOTE: strength is not when you suppress how you feel. Masculinity is not abusing those who surround you. Hate does not equal strength. Asking for help does not make you weak, if you are suffering from mental illness, or struggling which psychosis or trauma. You HAVE to seek help. Strength is getting the balls to get out there and seek help. Strength is having the balls to cope in a healthy way, like lifting. I’ve found my sanctuary in lifting. If anyone is dealing with something here, you’re not alone. If it’s too much to take on alone, try to find the right psychotherapist. Be honest with them and do every technique and method they tell you to do. Lift, get those gains. You’ll feel good about yourself and feel motivated to get out of bed and fight. And to those who are not going through something, keep working hard, never slow down for others, but don’t judge either, you don’t know what they’ve been through. They never hurt you, no matter how strange they may seem to you, you don’t know what they could be dealing with. So be nice. You’re cowardly and weak if you’re rude or disrespectful towards others for reasons like them being strange or goofy, or ugly or even stinky. You never know what is happening in their life. If you are able to, reach out and help them, but sometimes it’s just not your fight, but that doesn’t mean you have to judge.

1:14 For those who don’t know, the guy you’re looking at (purple shirt and jeans) is Chris Craighead, British SAS. In January 2019, he was stationed in Kenya to train local forces when a Somali terror group attacked a hotel and took hostages. He was off-duty at the time and raced to the scene with his gear to assist the local law enforcement. He single-handily kill two of the terrorists and rescued many of the hostages while coordinating with the local law enforcement. 21 people died in the attack, but Chris’s actions saved so many more.

1:13 thank you for adding this. I am Kenyan and lived in that area during the terrorist attacks. I heard a lot of gunshots and explosions. The soldiers were real heroes, because they killed all the terrorists, unlike in the Westgate attacks where theterrorist fleed and are still free to this day. These soldiers were true heroes, and the British soldier who went to fight as well is a hero.

Now lemme ask you ppl who talk about modernity and all these rights you allegedly have. Do you appreciate those rights do you like this modern era we live in. I don't not because of any prejudice or anything but because these times are too comfortable, but fast paced you don't know where your life has gone, but here you are, you don't know what's happening or what's coming.
There's a saying: "hard Times create strong men, strong men create easy times , easy times create weak men, weak men create hard times." So what's the best thing to do, accept the cycle or create strong men at all times, stop accepting your weakness. Prove yourself to you not someone else improve yourself and teach others to improve so the good times remain.
