Awesome! I can't wait to try this. Side note for Photoshop - a lot of this could be made into an Action, making it super fast to get these done.

Yes! Great point. And for those reading, "actions" are "macros" in Affinity. (Window ↓ Macro) Largely the same workflow of recording repeatable steps.

Nice tips! Now I feel like a dummy for never using that offset trick instead of duplicating image on a multiplied canvas:D Also Kudos for using Affinity.

Thanks for checking it out! In the past I've been all for letting employers buy Adobe for me (usually don't have a choice), but after quitting my job and going off on my own I've been real happy with some of the frugal software decisions I've made. Premiere to DaVinci was a particularly HUGE upgrade. I've missed some Photoshop things, but Affinity has been pretty great and infinitely cheaper.

@@rileyb3d Yeah, it is pretty amazing how much variety and quality you can find with independent and open source substitutions for established software if you take some time to look for it. For me Affinity also has a great advantage of being easily portable and low on requirements so I can use it on the go. And DaVinci, while not being exactly independent is a great piece of software as well, especially given the price:)

1:00 Affinity has also got a tool similar to content aware fill. I believe it is located on the edit tab and called sth like "inpaint"

This is an awesome technique, thank you for sharing. How would you go about making a normal and roughness map for these textures?

Subbed. Also give Krita a go. Free, plus it has a far better tool for making seamless texture and you can see it tiled in real-time.

If you do it would be cool to see it done with the same texture you used in this tutorial. Thanks.@@rileyb3d
