"as soon as my daughter was born, I realized how important souls are" BS If he didn't realize that with his three prior kids, why suddenly his 4th is the Messiah???
Lol, for the sake of one grandbaby, the paternal grandparents lost the other 3. I hope they have fun realizing how lonely it's going to get in the future.
Those ain't even her kids omg 😭😭 i don't blame the son for not letting them coming on in. This is reminding me of that couple who had an open relationship and the husband met a person who was on some evangelical shit or something and converted him
Bet the stepmom is threatening to not let the inlaws see the baby and is why they can't stand up to her. Cause you dont hear OP mention a single peep about them being against OP or the kids for not being christian. The issues start with her
Tbh it should've been supervised visits from the moment they did that intervention and I'd block the wife and have coparenting communication go directly through an app or written communication
Okay, I'm a christian, but I have an issue with what the pastor said because I was taught that while christians believe in the same God and Jesus was the Messiah, Jews are the chosen people of God and those who protect the Jews will be protected themselves. So the part where the pastor says that Jews will be punished for not believing that Jesus was the Messiah tells me that the pastor really isn't a very good pastor, If he doesn't know that the Bible itself states that the Jews are the chosen people of God. I highly doubt those people be punished in this life and in the afterlife because they do not believe Jesus was the Messiah. By that pastor's reasoning alone, that means Jesus himself was punished in this life and in the Afterlife... since Jesus himself was a Jew.
I'm also a Christian, and this pissed me off. Because it is written that everyone must come of THEIR OWN FREE WILL not forced. I can honestly say that the wife's daughter will grow up resenting her and turn away. Also, you don't put hands on someone unless they give permission.
The history of religious belief has and always will be self interpretation. No one has contact with whichever god they believe in so no one can be like “yo, god/gods, is this what happens when non-believers die?” We just have to make up whatever answer _sounds_ correct to us individually. We make it up
Now, Jesus is a Jew, yes, but he is God too, so he wouldn’t have been punished for his sins, because he didn’t have any; however, He was punished in the cross for the sins of the world. So any logic that applies to us doesn’t apply to Him, since he is God. On the other hand, I would like to know, where in the Bible does it say that Jews won’t be punished? From what I understand, Jews and gentiles need to accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior to be saved, because every one of us have sinned. I ask this genuinely, I’m interested in learning more. God bless you all.
I’m a Christian and not only would I have done the same thing that the sister did, I would also feel extremely creeped out if a prayer circle/laying of hands was forced on me without my consent. I don’t stand for shit like that. Jesus wouldn’t have either. Forced conversions make me sick, as do Christians who don’t understand that yeah, you can tell people about Jesus, but you should only go into detail about why YOU believe what you believe IF THEY ASK. In actuality your most important objective is to SHOW people about Jesus. “Preach the gospel at all times, and if necessary, use words.” (Not a biblical quote but definitely a biblical principle.) You can talk about the gospel and God and Jesus all you want, but if you do not show love to your neighbor-and that includes respecting their beliefs or lack thereof even if you don’t agree, without trying to change their minds-then the message is completely useless.
As a Christian myself, I can say that accepting Jesus as your Lord and Savior is a CHOICE. It cannot be forced, and not to mention the "you'll go to hell" part. Fear mongering will only make you fake it till you make it out of anxiety, it wouldnt be genuine.
As someone who had people try to force me into Christianity all throughout my childhood, you’re one of the people who helps remind me that there are good Christians out there.
@oakleavesandonions771 aww thats so sweet ❤️ Tysm 🥺 I always ALWAYS try to see different perspectives and nuances, i really do try really hard so seeing someone appreciate that makes me so happy 🥺 Unfortunately i had my few share of experiences of people hating on me when i told them i was Christian so yea
Keep in mind if those kids were like 5-10 and understood what "going to hell" meant, it would just terrify them and cause great mental distress for them that they would probably hide from their mother creating a lie paradox where they think they're going to hell for not being honest to their mother about the situation at dads house and yet being told they'll go to hell if they speak out against the step mom. Her behaviour as a so called Christian is Unchristian and abusive. She is the one who will go to hell for her actions - if hell exists.
@shortangel333 exactly Christianity is supposed to be about love, not condemnation. While of course theres things we consider sins- Christ himself literally ate and spoke with them. He didnt demand them to follow him but gave them a choice and was kind to them. The way shes treating her sons isnt Christlike at all and its downright hypocritical. Plus, i dont agree with using fear to get people to follow Christ either. If you use fear, it wont be a genuine choice. It has to be from the heart, not out of obligation. Using fear in this manner only causes religious trauma and its a reason why so many people have left the religion and whatnot. Its because of people claiming to love Christ and follow him but not actually do that at all and do the opposite.
I remember coming to my friend’s church one day. It was dead empty and my friend was the only one there. She was praying, but after I came in and sat down and didn’t see anyone, I asked her, “Where is everyone?” She glared at me then went back to praying. Then the door to this little side room opened and one of the other girls who attended the church came out, sobbing. I thought. “Oh crap. Someone died. That’s bad. On top of that, I don’t know these folks well yet, and I’m really bad with names. I probably won’t recognize who it was when they tell me they died. And I probably won’t react appropriately because I won’t even know who died. This is about to get super awkward.” They took me into that little room where there were a bunch of candles lit, and the entire congregation was packed into that little room. I was getting ready to be as sympathetic as possible when they told me so-and-so died. And then they told Satan to leave my body and put oil on my face. And then the whole congregation surrounded me, put hands on me and started weeping and speaking in tongues. It was the most claustrophobic experience I’ve ever had in my life. When they were done, they opened the door and I walked right out and didn’t come back. My “friend” and I aren’t friends anymore either.
I am a Christian, I hate when others state that their own beliefs are wrong. We all believe in the same capital G God. Isn't that enough? And even if some don't believe, that is their choice. Geez.
funny i was raised completely without religion, and in fact encouraged to make sure i understood any kind of faith i had interest in to make sure i had a good understanding of what i was believing in...and i can confidently say that the lack of religious trauma outside of what society forces onto us is FAR better than any story i've heard from people with devout parents :/ what they often mean is if you don't indoctrinate them young you risk not having more followers and people to control
