- Today me and Erik get to rip a 2024 UFC Topps Chrome Hobby box. While its a weaker rookie class this year we were excited to checkout the new product from Topps.

If it helps anyone new to Topps thanks to UFC Topps Shiny cards are Refractor, if it's scale like texture its a Prism Refractor, then other examples they have are Speckle Refractors, Mini-Diamond Refractors, X-Fractors, Black & White Refractor(Negative), Cyan Refractor, & colored parallel versions. If nothing & shiny just base Refractor. With Panini using Silver, Prizm, & Holo terms I'm guessing Topps copyrighted or trademarked Refractor. X-Fractor, & Superfractor terminology decades ago?

Jumping from comment section to comment section, feels like most are not impressed with this product. I agree with the sentiment that this feels a bit overpriced. But can’t deny it’s always fun to rip through new product! 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽

Diego Lopes is a beast. I would say he is the best rookie for 2024
Diego is a solid contender for best rookie. He’s a tough guy who looks for finishes. Not sure if he has the skills to hang with the top 5 but I could see him break into the top 10-15 relatively soon!
Thanks for ripping and sharing! Gonna be honest, not crazy about this product. For all the Topps hype I saw in the community leading up the release, this set feels like prizm with less numbered parallels and more inserts. I like the Kings and Queens inserts and some of the fight nights… but not enough to spend money on. I may stick to collecting some Panini cards I still want
No product is worth the money spent on a box with these prices. It’s all a gamble at the end of the day, to me I just pay for the experience and the chase of hitting a huge card.
Still a TON of great cards from early Topps and Panini to be had!
The checklist has me a bit nervous but you can't go past Topps quality cards. Looking forward to ripping my box soon. Great video guys 😀

If the box was a $100-$120 it would be worth it. It is indeed a SPECKLE Refractor. Like the numbered stuff but man stuffing a bunch of non numbered parallel garbage - esp in purple is distasteful. Ya'll make it fun though! CAN'T WAIT TO THE SEE THE CARD SHOW VID.
I would love a hobby box to be $100! Hopefully the price for products will trend a bit lower, at $100 there would be insane value for this imo.

Design reminds me too much of 2018ish Museum Collection so I'm not thrilled with basic design, hoping it'll grow on me. Good to have Topps back (but sad it's under fanatics control tbh tho)

I don’t think I’ll be able to make up my mind about this product until I rip it myself. $150-$180 is where it should’ve been at now that I’ve seen some rips. Also missing the fact that there’s no base card case hit like a black Pandora, photon, animal print, etc. and lastly, they really missed the mark by not putting Dustin Poirier in the Kings and Queens set 🤦♂️😅 with all that being said, hope I hit an Ilia fight night in my box and a Shavkat future stars gold auto🤞🏼

The generation now insert looks way better here than it does in baseball I love that card. A weak rookie class does kinda drag this down and $200+ is pretty steep. Hope the next couple sets they really bring it and give us stadium club, dynasty, endless possibilities. With baseball they do update chrome and rookies that break out during the season get added to the set later on. Great video guys!

My autos were Val woodburn Nd DDP, i pulled Black Virna Jandiroba, gold Val woodburn, Aqua Juliana Pena, speckle Grant dawson, Magenta Shara Bullet, negative sean o malley, a few insert refractors and a few prizms🔥🔥🔥 the black and gold made up for the Val Auto 😂😂😂 i just want anything alex pereira!!!!!!!

The Giga and Ankalaev card photos are ass lol 😆 they make it seem like card is for their opponents. Otherewise this product seems pretty rad 🤙 great video guys!

I think topps is trying to justify the $250 retail tag by including so many "SSP" inserts, but I'm hoping this gets < $200 soon, so can go for the parker & val rainbows, best rookies in the class 💪😂. But honestly I'm just gonna go for the Supergiant set, in the refractor parallel.
Great checklist. Good looking card. Cheaper price tag. It meets all the metrics for a great set to complete!
I tried to get into FAB during the pandemic but never got to really learn the game.
Erik was giving me a breakdown. He said there’s an online version of the game somewhere that I guess helped him learn it relatively easy.

Idk why Topps wouldnt stamp the RC on the cards that had Panini Instants; Panini would have stamped them with the RC. Panini didn't even respect their own Instants lol
True. I haven’t got that confirmed anywhere that just seems to be a pattern with a few of the fighters I’ve noticed and is my best guess🤷🏻♂️

Ya that most recent one where he had to get shoulder surgery sucked I was hyped to see them run it. Hopefully sometime soon!

This set makes me sad.. SO many rookie badges missing..so many rookies missing...its ugly. Look at 2017-2019 chrome and panini and then look at these..man. Quality control is bad, so many cards are busted and print lines. They basically made a flagship that looks like Chronicles with all those inserts. NO BENOIT?!?! crazy. Manuel Torres no Rookie badge?? I could go on...but this is not the same Topps as it used to be...Fanatics Topps is a different animal. Also, onily 4 serial numbered per box means they printed a TOOOOON of boxes...this set got printed heavy.
Hopefully they can turn it around though...the hobby boxes will drop to around 180 per box one hype wears off...Ill buy a few sealed boxes then but not opening any.

At the time of filming this those orders weren’t going to be fulfilled.

Topps Chrome has lost the clean, classy set look.
2017-2019 vs 2024 looks like Topps Chrome & Panini Donruss inserts had a baby.
Something needs to be figured out on why Topps didn’t make the design mimic the clean baseball Chrome design like they did in 2017-2019.
I believe there might be some issue sharing the design with the Mexican Panini printers used to manufacture this UFC release.
Agreed. I was very surprised at the base border design choice for chrome, very Prizm esque.
@@boxalarmtrading not so much the base design it's the vibe/feel of this release. It's seems so Panini-like with the designs, ugly font on inserts... Topps Chrome used to have some class/style to it IMHO.
All these inserts makes Topps Chrome feel like Panini Prizm with Donruss/Optic inserts.
In the end, 2017-2019 was ages ago and now print runs need to be high and I guess there needs to be crap ton of inserts. 2019 TC had like what 5 inserts?
