Thank you Fernanda! I hope the second spike holds and we will see the blooms on denisoniana, I am very excited about her. Tricolor has very pleasant fragrance, I love it :)
Oooohhhh Orchideya!! You have two gorgeous 🤩 vandas! No need to pick one over the other! They are equally beautiful! I am glad your issue with the yellowing seems to be resolved. Perhaps the fact that it is a winter spike is the reason for difference in color in the Rothschildiana. Looking forward to your Denisonia blooms as well. You do a superb job with your vandas! Congratulations!
Thank you Yoshi! I hope you find one, blooming sized, you have enough space for large vandas in your greenhouse. I really recommend tricolor, if I can bloom it twice a year in Canada growing indoors on windowsill without any additional light, in your conditions it will probably bloom non-stop.
Thank you! Tricolor is definitely a must have vanda. The fragrance is wonderful and I like the blooms. This one took me 9 years from tiny seedling to first blooms. I also have tricolor alba seedlings that I am growing from flask. I wonder how long it will take to bloom...
Thank you so much Denise! I hope Rothschildiana's leaves issue stopped and next blooming will be more normal. Still I like the flowers, even though they are a bit pale.
Beautiful! 🤩 my V. denisoniana hybrid (x Fuchs Gold) also has two spikes emerging… hopefully it will keep them both! Beautiful deep yellow blooms! I can’t remember if they had a fragrance? But I don’t think so… looking forward to see your denisoniana specie in bloom! Take care and happy growing! 💕🌸💕
Thank you Chantal!Fingers crossed for your two spikes :) I am still not sure what happened to the first spike on my denisoniana, hope the second one holds. I am so excited to see what type of denisoniana I have, some have darker blooms, almost orange and others have pale yellow flowers...
Just as beautiful as last time! You put all the work in to grow and adapt these and viola! Some awesome spikes to be proud of. You are the envy of many viewers Including me. I have seen tricolor at shows but they were never scented. And denisoniana has a decent flower count...now what color will it be? And I can't wait to hear how the fragrance compares to tricolor. I'm not sure why these vandas would have deficiencies because they get a balanced orchid fertilizer containing calcium an magnesium. Is it because certain elements are absorbed at different rates because of pH? I do know that magnesium supplementation is recommended in flushes, to induce blooming, but the science behind it is a bit funky to me. There was a good article years ago written on how certain minerals were processed by orchids. The study was done by chopping orchid leaves and roots to determine where elements were absorbed and how long they were retained. They lost me in the analysis but the gist of the article was that orchids benefited from magnesium supplementation. It required more frequent supplementation because the plant released more after absorption than calcium (or something like that). I think I have that article somewhere if you haven't read it.
Thank you! I am very non-scientific person when it comes to orchids, so those articles confuse me a bit, but watching videos of people who do take time to understand it I gathered that calcium and magnesium are important, so I give my plants CalMag supplement once a month now. Epsom salts baths for Rothschildiana was suggested to me by Sharon Short, so I tried. I am not sure if it cured the vanda but issue definitely did slow down. I didn't loose anymore leaves, Those existing yellow patches will probably stay yellow, but I am monitoring if new yellowing appears again. So far it doesn't.
Yay!!! Vanda denisoniana made it, she is finally going to bloom!!! The ones in bloom are gorgeous. My favourite is tricolor, stunning blooms❤️

Thank you Beverly! I am so happy that they are blooming, didn't expect tricolor to flower twice a year, that is a nice surprise. :)

Beautiful blooms 😘👍
Thank you Stephen! Those are two of my favorite vandas, I am so happy that they decided to bloom together.
They look beautiful together!
Thank you Gabrielle!
Absolutely gorgeous…thanks for sharing!
Thank you so much!
Beautiful big vandas, well done 👍😁👏. Good to see Rothschildianum on the mend, so weird that it went downhill, but looking better now.
Thank you Justin! I am still not sure what happened to Rothschildiana, it was always a happy healthy plant. Hope the issue cleared itself now.
I thought it was a tricolor.. beautiful vanda thanks for sharing.

Cantik bunganya, seperti vanda tricolor.
Terima kasih!
Great blooms g video, thanks for sharing. I love vanda tricolour! Unfortunately can't grow vandas. What does the fragrance like?
