I really appreciate the decks weren't race themed, and instead where a look into a couple of planes we really haven't been to in a while. Also, Varina and Tenmet are super cool together.
I’m most excited for Hashaton tbh. I love esper, but always struggle to find a fun, creative commander that isn’t pidgeonholed into either stax or one specific build. Hashaton looks like he could be open enough to build a few different decks around him and not leave me feeling like I’m just taxing my friends all day.
Same, I brewed a spicy discard based brew around him on Moxfield! We are only talking about the best new cards as inclusions for the 99 and the deck as it's marketed but I love Hashaton!
I can see reanimator, cycling, good-stuff discard, and connive strategies, and there’s probably a dozen more. Just a really strong, yet still interesting commander.
Nah he's disgusting, he's like every problem with reanimator except you can't hope to interact with it cuz it doesn't really touch the graveyard I say this as a grave player
I feel nothing towards the main set, but for some reason these precons seem so much more exciting than the last year’s precons. I’m assuming it’s the fact they went to only 2, but these seem really nice.
@@starmanda88 The zombies one is soso, but the alternate commander is super strong and the new enchantment "Renewed Solidarity" might end up being REAL expensive in a hurry since everyone seems to be wanting to build an Edgar Markov deck now and a 3 mana anthem+token doubler is going to be a popular choice. You cast any vampire -> edgar from the commander zone will make a 1/1 vampire, but it's now a 2/1, and eot you're making another 2/1. Consider that 4 mana annointed possesion costs like 20+ bucks. The Energy precon has some WILD new cards for energy and the couple of new cards from it are giving Golgari and Jund energy a decks a serious shot in the arm. MH3 already had some... basically broken energy cards in green (primal prayers) and black (Chthonian Nightmare). Basically nobody noticed because everyone keeps thinking of Jeskai (or Boros in modern) when it comes to Energy. But Peema Trailblazer basically says "3 mana, draw 5 cards and get a 5/5 trampler that makes more energy" and the new Aetherflux Conduit might not go infinite with Chthonian Nightmares but it's getting awfully close. But yeah, if you're not into energy (and it seems a lot of players don't dig it) and zombies aren't you thing then it's a bit of miss.
There are some decent cards in these 2 Commander Decks. I appreciate you going over them with the additions and cuts you would make. Thank you for the video Mia and Beezy.
The zombies precon is a solid tribal deck but something concerning is the dearth of interaction. 2 instant-speed removal cards and no counterspells at all. They couldn't have thrown a Negate or An Offer You Can't Refuse in there? Really?
@@yavivanov6650 obviously those are just examples. My point was a couple reprints of some sought-after counterspells is never a bad thing. Dovin's Veto and Drown in the Loch haven't had meaningful reprints in years.
Molten Gatekeeper can be Ingenious Artillerist too. The Artillerist still triggers Saheeli because it’s an Artificer. It’s basically a second copy of Reckless Fireweaver for one more mana. Another cools way to make tokens that stick around is Octomancer which is also pretty budget. Wurmcoil Engine is another awesome creature to add because when the copy dies you still get them two 3/3 tokens.
Wizards are fooling us again. They printed a precon on Amonkhet lore and didn't reprint Anointed Procession. This card is the foundation of this deck. The price of the card will go up again. More anti-consumer practices.
Being disappointed that a $50 card didn’t get reprinted in a Commander Precon is one thing as that’s fair. However saying it’s anti-consumer practices as the card was a “foundation” of Amonkhet and the set? That’s getting a bit extreme there, they represented the plane and it’s lore well with the precon so there’s not really an issue here.
Thanks for the big energy add recommendations. I'm going to add some ramp like a Skyshroud claim and add in some forest surveil lands. I'll probably fit in the other talismans as well. 💚💙❤️
Did Beezy really not talk about Hashaton? Unique tokens and access to white(populate) That dude is craaaaaacked when uber optimized but honestly just does well at any power level
I own the Fallout and MH3 energy decks but haven't actually played them because assembling a strong commander deck out of them just didn't feel doable. I preordered Living Energy assuming that I'd be able to assemble something that slaps with all 3 decks and it looks like I was correct.
The new one is exciting, but Satya, Aetherflux genius is the better energy deck… It has all the same infinite combos plus more and can copy the creatures they praised in the video as well.
Aetherdrift is the most excited I've been for a set since the 2013 core set when Krenko, Mob Boss was put in players' hands for the first time. The precons look very fun, and it's going to be nice to get some more experience with energy counters.
Thanks to Eternal Might, i think my Varina deck has more tools together with some of the new Aetherdrift cards like Cryptcaller Chariot. Also funny but some of the cards im kinda cutting for Varina might work for Anikthea like doubling the created tokens this turn at end step.
As much as I swear by Gravecrawler, my concept build for Temmet excludes it for the sake of more synergy. Besides that I already have a Larry Esper Zombies deck. My biggest disappointment in the deck is that these Commanders won't be on Arena
Definitely picking up the Esper zombie deck! Some nice editions for my current zombie deck. Might pick up 2, because I don’t think I want to take apart the Wilhelt commander deck. I can pick this deck up, and still have upgrades for Wilhelt.
@@paulszki you attack and pump. It's basically a craterhoof behemoth in this deck. You can also draw cards when another player is attacking. It can pump before blocks, so you can ambush attackers. Here are three reasons
I really wanted to be excited about this, but I’m not jazzed at all. I guess I had unrealistic expectations on the theme. I assumed there would be 4 decks to expand the diversity and would’ve been more of a “Death Race” themed series with unique factions(would have LOVED a Mad Max styled deck) . Maybe I’ll pick up the energy deck and give it a go anyway.
Just checked. He’s not that reprinted!!!! He’s got a Game Night print, and a Mystery Booster 2 printing. Until the precon comes out, that’s it. Why you spreading misinformation?
Couldn't care less about the main set because the flavor is just... a massive step down from the excellence of Duskmourn. The precons look pretty decent, though. Living Energy is just excellent straight out the box, and needs pretty minimal tuning to make it a powerhouse, and while Eternal Might is... not focused at all, I'm seeing a bunch of random cards in there that I'd love to drop into some of my aristocrat and Liliana decks, so I'm definitely gonna grab that one to tear down and upgrade some other decks.
I really appreciate the decks weren't race themed, and instead where a look into a couple of planes we really haven't been to in a while. Also, Varina and Tenmet are super cool together.
Zombie ship
Remember everyone, Wizards brought back MSRP for this set and both of these decks are supposed to cost $44.99
Yes, and? They happened to be even cheaper here in Canada, around 38 usd
Your LGS will gladly ignore that and gouge accordingly.
Pre-ordered on gamenerdz for $65 for both 😊 had a $5 reward too
And remember that the R stands for recommended, not required.
How much will the zombie one be?

Last year precon were amazing
Sorry but last year had some of the greatest precons of all time. These two seem incredibly underwhelming to me in comparison.
The zombie commander is a nerfed version of Varina while Saheeli is basically the same as Mishra eminent one, so nothing new here...

Other way around. new set looks awesome
These are probably stronger than most commander decks from last year imo
I love the Egyptian theme of Amonkhet so it’s awesome to see a commander deck with good reprints and cool Egyptian style artwork!
Always a fan of revisiting Amonkhet!
Amonkhet is definitely a fav of mine, it looks so cool and I love the lore
I’m surprised you guys didn’t recommend cutting Grave Titan from the deck
The Eternal Might deck has a BUNCH of new cards for my Varina Zombie tribal, and Kykar Anthem/Tokens 👍🏻
So flipping hyped, preordered these like 3 weeks ago, and am not at all disappointed.
Nice! They are definitely both pretty fun to pilot!
The zombie precon looks so gooooood, it's reigniting my love of zombie decks, I havnt made an Esper deck in years but it's time to get brewing

It wouldn't surprise me to see it in a secret lair alongside the set release. 🤑

Luckily for me I’ve reprinted Anointed Procession a bunch😂
Proxy it, there’s some anti-anti-consumer tech.
Idk it isn't the foundation of the deck, it wouldn't even be that good in it.

Kinda strange that the second Commander wasnt mentioned. Because in the Energy Deck the 2. Commander is kinda bad, but from the zombie Deck its nuts.
Cannot wait to build Hashaton!
One thing I'm getting a little tired of seeing is the trend of new commanders with their main focus being "just copy the thing".

graveborn muse would be a must add in that zombie deck for sure
Nice review! But the panharmonicon isn’t already in the precon? 😮
Great video guys good breakdown I am buying the energy precon❤
Glad you liked it! Saheeli hits really hard
I agree with the nissa thing, I thought this was a reprint when I first read the list xD
It’s hard to tell 😂
So for temmet you can just get graveyard recursion to get him back out. And cohesive with the theme.
Thanks to Eternal Might, i think my Varina deck has more tools together with some of the new Aetherdrift cards like Cryptcaller Chariot. Also funny but some of the cards im kinda cutting for Varina might work for Anikthea like doubling the created tokens this turn at end step.
Gonna check the living energy one. Enjoy the videos. Thanks.

I can pick this deck up, and still have upgrades for Wilhelt.
I am planning to take apart my wilhelt deck to fuse into this. I like a lot of the new white cards. Especially the lord/pseudo lord effects.
Same
Wouldn’t Brudiclad be a good add for this? I know the man’s cost is high but it seems like some great synergy
convoluted combos are the best kind of combos.
I would add Keep watch to the budget upgrade list
Why? It's another situational draw-spell.

Wingspan is taller than you are, met yall at magic con and you were tall af dude ain't no way 😂
Tell me why less then a week ago you could pre order these deck for like 70 buck now to pre order them they are 100?
0:29 in soviet russia, we sent YOU to card kingdom xD
Saheeli is just like an energy version or Mishra, eminent one.
Where was Rot Hulk reprinted, outside of this precon?!
I’ve only seen it printed in that Game Night product.
Just checked. He’s not that reprinted!!!!
He’s got a Game Night print, and a Mystery Booster 2 printing. Until the precon comes out, that’s it.
Why you spreading misinformation?
They probably went to all the cons and had decent access to mystery booster 2. I, however, have never seen a pack.
It's kinda meta when a 9-mana value, 9-9 creature is also $9.
Once again they missed the chance to make grave titan a zombie 😢.
Well, at least his new art looks sick ❤
Beezy talks so fast I can't even run these videos at 2x speed got dang

Thopter Spy Network
I love the art themes but likely skipping this round.

Bizi been playin' too much...
Junk.
