I've got the Rogers and Hamerstein's box set and Wizard of Oz 75th Anniversary box set. The Wizard of Oz box set includes a globe where the ruby slippers light iup as well as a pin set on top of what you said.
I found the 75th Anniversary of “The Wizard of Oz” at Walmart for 30.00 and for about 50.00 on Amazon the 50th Anniversary of Ben-Hur Blu-Ray boxset. I have a few standard Blu-ray editions of some of those blu-rays like “The Sound of Music”, “West Side Story” and a couple of others.
Yep, too true! Marvel has done something unique in the way that it's created one grand story that's told over the course of multiple franchises. But the Universal Monster films was really the beginning of different films and film characters existing in the same reality.
I can't believe you have never watched The Sound Of Music the whole way through!! It is my favorite film of all time!! I may seem long but it is AMAZING! Gread video as always
It's one that was allwaayysss playing at my Nan's house when I was younger. It's her favourite film. I've probably seen most of the movie, but not in one sitting haha. So, I dunno, it's one I was just never compelled to sit and watch the whole way through. One day! Thanks as always 😊
Hello Dave, I too am obsessed with The Wizard of Oz. I have 37 copies of the film, 5 posters, a room dedicated to the film, and much more. I love that movie soooo much. Also, you just got another subscriber 😆
That's so amazing!! 37 copies is absolutely insane -- and a whole room dedicated to it -- I LOVE IT! It's such a special and incredible movie, glad to hear there are others out there who appreciate it as much as I! Thanks so much!!
great collection of boxsets you have there mate, being a Hammer fan i wouldnt mind a video on your Hammer boxset if you get the time, also that Planet of the apes collection is fantastic, just subbed, thanks
I love the classics. Some really nice sets you have. I'd like the see The Wizard Of Oz one's in more detail. :o My Mum and I are going to see The Wizard Of Oz at the Lyric Theatre in November. 😄😄
I havent watched The Wizard Of Oz in quite a few years. I'm wondering if I should watch it before seeing in the theatre or hold off as that might take away the experience. What do you think? 🙂
Sorry for the late response! Seems TH-cam notifications are being a little testy lately. Thanks so much. I think I'll do an Oz video soon. It's my favourite film of ALL TIME! (And it's not Disney - shock horror!!!) The stage show looks wonderful. I think I'll go myself at some point. I'd say watch the movie again. I don't think it could spoil the experience because it's just such a well known and iconic piece of cinema and pop culture. If anything, I imagine a refresher of the film could even make your theatre-going experience even better!
That's okay, lol Okay I'll definately give it a watch beforehand then 😄 I can't wait till the day. Right now I can't be excitable though as I have the flu lol 🙁
Yayyy awesome! I think nostalgia is just such a big part of the film, that they're going to play on that in the performance 😁😁 Oh boo!! That's not good to hear. I think I feel a little something coming on soon. It's that time of year. Hope you feel better sooon!
quite the impressive collection that you have there! Might even rival my own. Got literally 1000's of DVD's. Just fyi, you kinda cheated a little bit putting in some newer movies in your "classic movie box sets" video. That's fine though.
ok. I checked your earlier video and you mentioned that you consider "classic movies" as anything from 1910 or so to the 1980's. Basically I consider "classic" to be anything prior to 1970.
Thanks heaps man. I've got over 4,500 titles in my collection - so it's pretty big haha. I certainly consider the 1970's to be classic cinema. It's kind of the turning point though into more modern cinema -- it sits between the two. It's not "Golden Age" but it's still certainly classic. When you think about it, the Western genre was still thriving (though certainly on its way out), you still had actors like James Stewart, Paul Newman, Robert Redford (I certainly consider 'The Sting' part of classic cinema), Marlon Brando at the heights of their career -- while also making way for the new guard of actors like DeNiro, Pacino, Hoffman etc.
lol, yeah your collection does rival mine. I did a count not too long ago; movies, Anime, cartoons, foreign films, and television series. Never quite completed it, but the DVD count is at least 4,000. Admittedly, so far I haven't paid nearly as much attention to movies post 1970 than prior. Except for movies from some actors and actresses that began in the 1920s-1950s that were still in movies at that point. At the same time, my movie collection is far from finished. :)
Thanks mate! (Sorry, only just saw this comment now). I'm just good at saving and managing my money I guess. I do mainly freelance film work for myself - private commercial / corporate clients / wedding videos etc. Day to day I work out of a photographic studio doing some assistant work.
I'd love to see the box sets for Gone with the Wind (both) and Ben-Hur in more detail.
Part 7 is the best piece of this series. Loved it! Nice collection.
Thanks so much, mate! Much appreciated 😁

Yes, you're right!! Such a nice little box set

When people talk about Cinimatic Universes, people always say that MCU was the first. But the Universal Monsters was the first.
Yep, too true! Marvel has done something unique in the way that it's created one grand story that's told over the course of multiple franchises. But the Universal Monster films was really the beginning of different films and film characters existing in the same reality.
Dave Lee Down Under Yeah. The monsters meet each other every once in a while, while the MCU characters meet almost all the time.

GONE WITH THE WIND 70th vs GONE WITH THE WIND 75th?
Really no differences. The film has the same transfer, but there's a few extra special features on the 75th.
How much did all those movies cost you?
Too much
I GOT COLLECTION FOR DVDS AND BOXSETS TOO
Awesome!

Warner Bros should’ve done an ultimate collector’s edition of goodfellas
Ohhh, that would've been amazing
Mate , great collection but I have to ask , what do you do for a living? You must earn a pretty penny to be able to afford all this media...

The 1st Dirty harry movie is the only one of the five that you can watch several times. The rest are not impressive
