From 7:16 to 8:54 Stephen Nichols was exquisite. I remember sobbing over his performance the first time I saw this in 1998. The writing was stunning too, of course, but Nichols delivery was just outstanding. He is so sorely underrated as an actor.
I’m sorry, but if that performance is the best of Nichols . . . Geary has 8 Emmys bc he is legend. He can draw both laughter and tears. Some of his scenes of desperation and self loathing are absolutely hypnotic. Just as I laugh at Luke’s silly lines, I laugh at Steffun’s pompous, arrogant statements. I mean does anybody use lines like, “Release the boy!”

Luke says that they never talked about the rape buts that's not true. The 1979/1980 scenes are also on youtube and they talk about it more than once. One time he even played that annoying song on purpose to upset Laura
Exactly. And Laura was chasing Luke during the sticky doors ice princess timeline and actually told Luke at dinner that they made love that night in the disco. But the new writers dismantled everything from the past. Even here, we have Cassadines that never existed from Gloria Monty's days.

Stefan tried to turn Katherine into a "fake Laura" and when that reality hit her, just wow. One day soon young Nikolas will find out what a selfish controlling arrogant man Stefan is. Stefan's selfishness put Nikolas's life in danger twice, and Luke saved Nikolas twice. I see in Nikolas someone who cares about others and is not a selfish control freak like Stefan. He has a lot of his mother in him.
No she never married Stefan. Helena had her drugged with her fake death drug and had her sequestered to help her recover. When she returned from the dead she had turned completely against Stephan and was for a time an ally of Helena (she even had a new hairdo similar to Helena). She started taking a liking to Nicholas and the feeling was mutual for awhile and they had a brief fling which everyone could not stand. Nicholas then tried to break things off. Katherine tried to hold on to him by faking a pregnancy. Helena decided to just get rid of her once and for all and had Cesar Faison (now back on the show) kill her. He did it shortly before Katherine and Nicholas were to be married. Catherine was up on the parapat daydreaming about becoming a Cassidine and Faison snuck up begins her and pushed her off. I think he and Helena tried to frame Laura.
