Hi, I have just built VMC265 and at a bit of a loss as to which exhaust to use. I am looking for an expansion, but also want to keep the low down torque. Timing is 186/136, 186 to keep the cylinder head inside the barrel by 0.2mm. I have both bhph 30mm amd kehein 35mm flat slider. Currently ordered some new parts for the 30mm. But happy to switch to the 35pwk. Any help would be brilliant thank you.
Ciao I don't understand Deutsche, can you confirm that blu graph is normal exhaust, green Is with stinger inside the final cone and Red is With stinger inside and isolated final cones? I m really interested in your test and I would like to do the same for a 187 engine. Regarding noise reduction you really did a great job but the exhaust seems to change completely behaviour because I think the final isolated cone reduces the strength of pressure waves
Yes that's right. if the counter-cone is insulated, the sound wave is absorbed and the charge on the cylinder is naturally lower. The characteristics are more like those of a box exhaust. That costs top performance, but you gain more range/Elastizität (Band)
Maybe if you increase the angle of diverging cones and counter cone you might gain some peak power and loose some power band. However from your test it seems that the exhaust should be designed in other way, considering lower counter pressure wave like box exhaust
@@TuningVespa I did the same test with a exhoust with a somewhat tamer layout. so smaller angles from the cone. Here the effect with the isolated was not so mutch. and the characteristics has only changed slightly.
@@POSCH-Performance maybe another solution could be inserting another normal cone inside the isolated cone, but I think you don't get the same noise reduction
