The first quote someone told me when I was in high school was "Do good and have good"... It's been 20 years and I never forget this line. This is the reason I always try my best to try to do good thing in my capacity.

I hope the lady staring out into the sea and started to cry after reading the note gets through whatever she's going through. The note clearly struck a chord and I think it's just what she needed. Another proof that we can make other people's day a little better with a bit of encouragement!

I think we all did...some because the note itself meant something to them and for others, we could feel the emotions the lady was feeling. We've all had that before...just a sudden rush of emotions and we have no choice but to just feel it.

People don't realize it, but elders are role models. It's like a law of the cosmos. Child, parent and grandparent. God is the father of fathers, the all-father. The major cause, of psychological separation of the generations is the result of the increased dependance, on electronics.

Oh, wow. The lady at 5:32 really got me. I have never wanted to reach through a screen and hug a person so badly. We have all been there before. These feelings are what makes us human and what connect us to one another. Just a few bright words of encouragement can impact a life and a heart in ways unimagined. If you have extra kindness in your heart, share it with those who might need it. 😊💖

I remember when I started my first job at 15 years old (Jack in the Box) to help my family out, I was so exhausted from work and school one day that I just broke down sobbing quietly in a little corner seating area. An older gentleman in his 60’s-70’s put his hand on my shoulder and said “child, whatever you are dealing with will pass and heal with time. It will get better, I promise you. Just hold on and keep going. Are you in any kind of trouble? Is there anything I can do to help you?”
I was all in my feelings but I was able to utter “No, I’m not in trouble. I’ll be okay. There’s a lot of pressure on me and I just needed to cry it out. Thank you”. He is one of the good people I’ve encountered that I will never forget.

The wisdoms and heartfelt words by these wonderful elders are invaluable. You will never find it in books nor in movies. Those words aren't uttered by mouth, but by real life experiences, I'm sure we can all learn a bit from it.

Such simple and encouraging words from the elders. Not everyday will be a good day, but keep your head up and find something good in each day. Simply being able to wake up and begin your day is good.

Today is my birthday and these past couple weeks I’ve been making some hard realizations about myself and my life. I don’t know where to go from here but I know I need to change. I somehow felt that these notes were written for me too. All young people want encouragement and support, and that’s what moved these young folks. Thank you to treeman and friends as well as the kind elders for doing this. It has touched a young person on the complete other side of the world and brought her comfort on her birthday.

It is very touching to see the reactions of the young people. This should be done more often. There is so much the older generation can pass on to the younger generation.

I love this kind of social experiment, it really went too far to reach out to those people suffering from sadness. Elders have walked the roads we have been through and they know more than us. A simple message like this will boost somebody's energy to move on and stand up again on their feet.

I asked the same question about America. My 1st thought is I'll be looking at the end of a gun barrel think I am about to rob them. Then it's "buzz off". :) Really I can't imaging elders here in America will write anything, or anything remotely eloquent and meaningful. It's sad.

I'm currently struggling in finding a job because I have no experience and I'm fresh graduate. Here in Philippines it's so hard to get a job specially if you don't have any experience because that's what they're looking for. I just want to thank you for posting this kind of videos, it motivated me.

This made me cry. Sometimes you hear the words that you want or need to hear from strangers and sometimes you hear it unexpectedly and in perfect timing - when you need to hear it the most. Those letters are not addressed to me but it's as if those elders spoke to me too.

I've been crying for the past 4 hours in my bed. Life is really hard right now, and I feel extremely alone. Not only that, but I feel like I'm not smart enough for school and I live far away from my family so I can't visit them often. It's my first time leaving the family nest and I'm struggling. I'm homesick and hopeless, my self worth has never been lower. Every day I open my eyes and every day I really wish I didn't, I wish I was back home with my mom. But it can't be that way forever, right ?
I can't help but wonder if these elders went through the same hardship as me. They probably had worth, but I wish I could strike a conversation with them, benefit from a little bit of their wisdom. I feel for the sobbing girl in the video because I'm exactly the same right now, stuck, hopeless and unbelievably sad. I hope for a better tomorrow though, so I'll take these notes at heart.
I feel the same way as you,some people have the courage to overcome their daily struggles and the hardships they face,on the other hand people like myself find it extremely difficult to even step out of the house,to socialize,to go to outside the city to study in a college,even the idea of getting a job terrifies me because I literally have no self confidence,my voice is shaky all the time,when I go out of the house to somewhere a little away from the house I get lost and cant find my way back without a gps.When I go out I usually need someone to accompany me because I feel like a little kid that got lost on the street with no one to trust.Yet I somehow managed to go outside the city on my own,not once not twice but I still cant overcome this feeling of loneliness.This feeling haunts me all the time,now as a guy who isnt into social media,software or etc Im forcing myself to learn software just to land a remote job.People around me have high hopes of me,so do I,but life has me going in circles and I feel stuck all the time.I have spent a lot of time watching self development,motivational videos.But it is just how it is,even when I did something challenging it still didnt take this feeling away,it was just an action with no impact on how I felt.But some people still accepted me the way I am.I just wanted to confide in you,I hope you dont mind.Dont forget that you are not alone,you will always find someone who can empathize with you And make up your shortcomings.Have a good day/night peace :)

I cried watching the lady write the note at 0:54. She reminds me so much of my grandma. My grandma practically raised me when I was little and was my biggest supporter and always called me kid. In Chinese that’s a term of endearment elders have for younger folks, especially if they have a close bond, like grandparents to grandkids or parents to their kids. She passed away two years ago at the age of 88. I miss her dearly and she will always have a special place in me. Love you nana❤️
