  • What is Guru Tattva?
    • Who is a Guru and why do I need a Guru? Isn't Paramatma guiding me in my heart? Is it simply a formality?
    • What is the difference between Deeksha and Siksha Gurus? Which is more important?
    • Is there a karmic bond between Guru and disciple? Or is the relationship of the disciple more connected with the Supreme Lord or the Guru parampara?
    • How to find, test and surrender to Guru? How intimate or formal should the relationship be?
    • Why didn't many women traditionally become Deeksha Gurus?
Ever pondered these questions❓ Join us Live this Saturday for an insightful conversation about a much anticipated topic with our special guest speaker, Hari Pārṣada Dāsa!

Hare Krsna Mataji. Your questions are very sincere. Crying from the core of your heart while chanting the holy names is the only way to find Sri Guru. Krsna will send you a real Guru when you can convince Krsna that you finally want to surrender to Him...then he will arrange. We may have trust issues, but we must trust Krsna. He will never cheat us.

wonderful question and humble challenge at 17.10 I hear from Prabhupada, he says the Maha mantra to me, I follow this and get the mantra from him so why cant he be my diksha guru? :
“The temples may fail, the devotees may fail, but my books will live forever.”-London, September 1974).
“These are not ordinary books. It is recorded chanting. Anyone who reads, he is hearing.”
    (Letter to Rupanuga Das, 19/10/74)
“Eternal bond between disciple and Spiritual Master begins from the day he hears.”
    (Letter to Jadurani, 4/9/72)
“Srila Prabhupada:Just by reading my books they are initiated”.Conversation 1972 Vrindavan.
The chanting Hare Krishna is our main business, that is real initiation. And as you are all following my instruction, in that matter, the initiator is already there.”
    - Srila Prabhupada Letter to Tamala Krishna, 19 August, 1968

Receiving Diksha is a process. As one surrenders to the guru, he receives divya jnana and ones ignorance is gradually destroyed. When one fully surrenders, then that is complete diksha. To the degree one surrenders, to that degree, the karma is destroyed. As Krsna says in Bhagavad-Gita, as one surrenders unto me, I reward him accordingly. It's a matter of surrender.

at 20.00 These books given to us by Prabhupada are not just any books, they are LIVING books:
“These are not ordinary books. It is recorded chanting. Anyone who reads, he is hearing.”
    (Letter to Rupanuga Das, 19/10/74)
ONE CAN DERIVE FROM THE STUDY OF THE BHÄGAVATAM ALL BENEFITS THAT ARE POSSIBLE TO BE DERIVED FROM THE PERSONAL PRESENCE OF THE LORD. It carries with it all the transcendental blessings of Lord Şri Krsna that we can expect FROM HIS PERSONAL CONTACT. (SB 1-3-40 end of purport)

At 22.00 Modern day situations are different to when Prabhupada was present so now we need new instructions and Prabhupada can not answer them. I can not believe this is being said, very sad indeed. Srila Prabhupada and Krsna teach us the highest science, the highest absolute principles upon which we can apply anything in any situation, it is exactly such lack of understanding that leads to Prabhupada's transcendental books being changed by non-transcendental minds.
No one ever told me nor did i ever ask about using a mobile phone, nor the internet, nor a computer for preaching, these are "USE YOUR COMMON SENSE" as Prabhupada often says to us.

At 24.00 "Passive, Active"............... So lease ask yourself what is the function of Prabhupada books? what do they do to us? Why Prabhupada invested his most valued time to write these books?
In Iskcon we sing every day to Prabhupada :
My only wish is to have my consciousness purified by the words emanating from his lotus mouth. Attachment to his lotus feet is the perfection that fulfills all desires.
He opens my darkened eyes and fills my heart with transcendental knowledge. He is my Lord birth after birth.
From him ecstatic prema emanates; by him ignorance is destroyed. The Vedic scriptures sing of his character.
This is taking place by associating with Srila Prabhupada by many ways but mainly by reading his transcendental living books, Prabhupada is alive in them and so are many great pure devotees, acaryas.

Hare Krsna Prabhuji, it seems that Vasiṣṭha was not the Initiating Spiritual master; He was Family Priest(who performs yajña/ceremony).
    *kula-ācāryaḥ-the family priest, Vasiṣṭha;*

There is practically no difference between the family priest and the spiritual master.

1} One who has implicit faith in both Krsna and the Guru, all the imports of the vedas are revealed. It is not by book knowledge.
    2) You do not select a guru, you have no way to measure who is a real Guru. The real Guru is on the 4th dimensional platform and our measuring instruments are 3 dimensional. We must cry to Krsna, Krsna will send the Guru and that Guru will reveal himself to the sincere person by His mercy. The sun can only be seen by the mercy of the sunshine. The Guru can only be seen by His merciful glance.

    At 29.00 FACT:
One should not become a spiritual master unless he has attained the platform of uttama-adhikārī. A neophyte Vaiṣṇava or a Vaiṣṇava situated on the intermediate platform can also accept disciples, but such disciples must be on the same platform, and it should be understood that they cannot advance very well toward the ultimate goal of life under his insufficient guidance. Therefore a disciple should be careful to accept an uttama-adhikārī as a spiritual master.
