Serial Killer Dennis Nilsen's Pen Pal Reveals Friendship With Murderer | Good Morning Britain

Andrea Kubinova will tell Good Morning Britain, how watching the hit ITV drama "Des" has been like seeing a ghost of her ‘friend’ Dennis Nilsen. Their bond was so close that when Nilsen died in jail in 2018, aged 72, his next of kin gave Andrea some of his ashes, and his spectacles as a memento. Andrea will say: “David Tennant was creepily accurate as Dennis Nilsen with his looks and mannerisms." Andrea, who works as a housekeeping supervisor at a hotel in London, first wrote to Nilsen in 2014 after reading a true crime book about him. After a year of writing to each other twice a week, Andrea’s application to visit Nilsen was accepted and they became friends.
