Your analysis on why LV Chinatown is not happening, is absolutely correct. I had the opportunity to do a full walk through 10 years ago. The walk was very boring. I noticed nothing much changed since then, except the Shanghai plaza across the street, and the other addition that looks more like “SOHO inside Chinatown”. I used to manage commercial properties in San Francisco before my retirement. You are absolutely correct about the width of the highways separating these developments is a major issue… not suitable at all for older folks and younger children. The other problem is: no Chinese actually lives there at the location, 即係唔聚腳, 冇啲歸屬感.

This is due to the US immigration regulations. The US gives a quota for each country to immigrate people basing on birth place. Cantonese born in Hong Kong ( before 1997) were under the UK quota. UK people took up about 90% of the quota. That's is why people born in China could enjoy a bigger quota. It would be super nice to see a lot of American immigrate to China as PRs and not on work visa because their employers send them to China.

這個中國城已經有20幾年历史了，以當時拉斯維加期的人口與地理環境來說這裡絕對是一個名符其實的中國城，不容置疑！

So very true. Las Vegas is a place to visit and tour. It is not a place for Chinese to live.

Chinatown早期都是叫唐人街，是中國北方人移民多了以後不肯用廣東人叫法自己直譯英文叫出了中國城這個名詞
實在太懷念🤣中國城夜總會...
我下个月要去拉斯维加看房
应该也介绍一下东侧的东方商场，哪里也是新开发区。并可算得上是一段传奇。据说这个地段的业主是犹太人。当他买下这个地段的时候，原本打算装修以后租出去干点小打小闹的投资。谁知他一开始装修，并打出地产广告招租的时候，他发现电话好像潮水一般的打进来，而且大部分都是东方人特别是中国人。询问的全部都是有关东方商业铺位的事。他灵机一动立刻把外部装修，改成东方色彩。并把租金调高。但需求还是非常火爆，于是他再接再厉。把下一个街区也买下来。继续以东方主题装修。很快全部铺位完成招租，令到原本只有手巴掌大的中国城，一下子扩大了两三倍，让这个老板赚了个盘满钵满。犹太人敏锐的商业眼光，真不到你不服。

呢个中国城同对面既上海商场已经好清楚反应一个社会问题，不进侧退，世界每日已经开始变紧，系呢个社会上面主要的消费力系年轻人身上，距地喜欢网红打卡店。呢个疫情只不过将一些原本已经有问题或者就黎比社会淘汰的餐厅或者商家提早送它们上路，有实力始终都会留底
