Very informative. I’d love the buddy tracking for my Gen 5 but the hassle of the power wiring and charging plus no speedometer makes this product a no-go for me. I would have thought Trail Tech would jump on engineering and manufacturing a plug and play solution for the Gen 5, especially since there is an obvious market opportunity.
I have an axys trail tech video as well. IMO there aren’t many “game changers” in sledding, but this is close. Now that we have five of us with them, being able to see where everyone is at all times is awesome. It to me to mention being able to follow someone you can’t actually see in amazing
Thanks for the info. A quick question. I’ve heard the the internal battery doesn’t last very long when the sled is turn off . What has been your experience with battery life ? Did you purchase another cradle with a DC charger to charge it indoors ? Thanks for your help.
I just wanted to say thanks for this video! Definitely earned my Like/Subscribe. I was already looking at this Voyager Pro for my '22 Turbo Doo after losing my wife when she got stuck following me and a buddy through the trees when we thought she'd gone with another group. Her (crap) BCA radio was depleted enough that she could hear, but not transmit. After almost 2 hours, I finally found her. So when the new '23 Gen5 Doo came out, I was convinced they'd compete with the Polaris 7S buddy track, but nope. So I decided that two of these Trail Tech's were cheaper than the 10" mondopad on the new Gen5 I ordered. Two quick questions - what is that pigtail wire you added for charging and do you have a link? Also regarding the temp sensor... Where'd you get the 12mm copper ring sensor (it's not listed on their site), and what did you do, if anything to prevent any leaks after adding it under the temp sensor?
There are a number on companies that make the pigtail for the G4 accessories. Not perfect, every once in a while I lose signal to the other riders, but it’s better than the radios. It’s so easy to find people!!
I also have to add, on one ride last year we visited a place only I had been to, but hadn’t been in a few years. Late in the day as we were heading back some clouds rolled in with wind and light snow. Dropped visibility to 15ft at best. Guaranteed we would have spent the night had we not had these. Drove blind following the bread crumbs we’d left on the way in.

I have a few friends that mount it flat on the dash right below the factory gage. Personally, I like it up where I can see it better on the bars and isn't constantly covered in powder.
what temp pickup did you use? you said it's for an air cooled install? Trailtech shows a 10MM air cooled kit and a 12mm air cooled kit. Is the temp sending unit the only difference in their various installation kits?
Sorry I do not. I ordered for parts from trail tech over a month ago I’m waiting on. I want to be able to hook the speedo up to the track to show track speed, not gps speed. Waiting for the parts
Glad I found this video, I'll be getting this setup on my new Ski Doo so I can find my friends when they get Polaris' stuck.

That’s pretty cool it links up with the 7s, I’m contemplating getting this for my axys!

@@mountainsleddergarage8627 ya that tech is pretty neat for sure…I just gotta get my buddies to get them as well! Haha

At 19:02, the middle sled has the trailtech mounted just below the factory gauge, was that just bolted on through the dock just to the plastic?
I am curious about this too.
Great video, but what additional recommendations do you have for installing these on a 2019 Arctic Cat Hardcore sled?
Do you have to turn it on separately every time you start the sled?
Have you had to roll your sled out with the bar set up yet?
Any luck on that Arctic Cat Video yet?
What size cylinder head sensor did you order? 10,12 or 14mm for the ski doo. Thanks
I used the 12mm sensor.

Would like to see a mount that just replaces the stock Guage location, is that in the works do you know?

I used the 14mm one that is made to go between the spark plug and cylinder head.
