He's the embodiment of "arming yourself with a smile". If you have a smile and are eloquent, people have a hard time anticipating your next move. It even makes one forget how evil he is, while he's waiting to snag deals when you're most vulnerable (Charlie).

If he has an edge, he's going to push it to make sure he comes out on top, be it through power or social standing. The man has to be the center of attention.

That's why he was hard on himself when he said Alastor Altruist ( it is someone who is helpful without asking anything in return) Then he reverted back saying that it is not how it ends. 5:42 was easily the biggest "OH SHIT" moment in the entire season. I loved the line delivery and Alastor's response. Clearly he isn't fully in control, nor can he keep his cool. It goes to show how he's not much different from Husk, Angel or anyone else at the hotel.

There's just something so charming about Alastor having an equal to match, gives him more depth besides being just a powerful and mysterious overlord- you can really tell he has a sense of humanity around Rosie lol (Also i love her and Charlie's dynamic, she's like her aunt omg)

I will say his dear/elk traits are inaccurate (wendigos aren't dear things, their faithful description describe them more as zombies with sunken eyes) but honestly I think thats fine since you can just put those dear traits towards him being mistaken as a dear when he died Lss: most people dont accurately depict wendigos and alastor while not a literal wendigo is meant to be associated with the folklore

But from the moment Husk mentions him being "on a leash", a switch gets flipped, almost like abusing what little power he has is Alastor's way of coping with not being in charge of his own fate.

Season two better reveal SO much about this man... it's not like I "in love" with him, but what I do love is his character. He is so well written. I think season 1 already has... Alaster is on a leash, that leash wants him to test Charlie to see if she's fit to succeed her father Lucifer (as pointed out in his duet with Rosie), and the only one with powers to put someone in charge of anywhere in this show is God. That's how Lucifer got in charge of hell, and Adam (for whatever reason instead of Michael) was in charge of Heaven.
My theory is that he’s on a leash from some powerful being from Heaven. The reason is because of the line “Once how I figured out how to unclip my wings” in the finale song

I genuinely love how Alastor is both the scariest character in the entire show, he gets even scarier after he’s defeated. Because he just went toe to toe with Adam, despite not having any angelic firepower, and apparently, with a limiter on.
6:38 Notice how he mentions that specific nugget of information. It’s not just a lore drop for Adam but for us as well. We know Alastor is being restricted like he’s Alucard from Hellsing. Someone plays a larger game and they need Alastor to play the obedient pup. If Alastor had more free room to walk around he’d have won the fight or at least stalled Adam long enough for Charlie and the others to help out.
Doubt that Al could take on Adam and come out on top whether he's on a leash or not. That's like saying he can beat Lilith, who's been heavily implied to be the owner of his soul.

@@Night_Light9123 Alastor is almost certainly meant to share qualities with wendigos. he's a cannibal and it has been confirmed that his design is very explicitly to be wendigo by the creator. I will say his dear/elk traits are inaccurate (wendigos aren't dear things, their faithful description describe them more as zombies with sunken eyes) but honestly I think thats fine since you can just put those dear traits towards him being mistaken as a dear when he died
Lss: most people dont accurately depict wendigos and alastor while not a literal wendigo is meant to be associated with the folklore

You can even still see hints of it in the show- hes more respectful toward the female characters (in his own way). He did later kill people who he deemed "deserved" it though as well.

Season two better reveal SO much about this man... it's not like I "in love" with him, but what I do love is his character. He is so well written. He's mysterious and the audience doesn't know enough about him. Like- what overlord or whatever is in "possession" of him? Where did he go for all the years? I think they said Season 2 was gonna focus mostly on the Vs and bringing Charlie's mom back into the picture.
I think season 1 already has... Alaster is on a leash, that leash wants him to test Charlie to see if she's fit to succeed her father Lucifer (as pointed out in his duet with Rosie), and the only one with powers to put someone in charge of anywhere in this show is God. That's how Lucifer got in charge of hell, and Adam (for whatever reason instead of Michael) was in charge of Heaven.
Basically Alaster went missing (before the show), and made a contract with God. God owns Alaster's soul.
My theory is that he’s on a leash from some powerful being from Heaven. The reason is because of the line “Once how I figured out how to unclip my wings” in the finale song
