After 3 days , normaly use, my super battery level is 74%. Real level, because Lithium modules is conected in paralell under BMS, with slim wires. Need to replace boths cells. the internal one is crap and the external one came from my old motorola and it sat for several months almost discharged. these newer BMS modules in the modern phones can detect resistance and voltage drop under load and scale the charge status accordingly.

    • @TheUlmstar83
      @TheUlmstar83 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@CotyRiddle This is exactly what happens in my case. The BMS sees something wrong, the charging power decreases, the battery reaches 100% on the screen, but the phone continues to pull from the charger for another 3-4 hours after. Test the whole behavior in several situations, and I can clearly say: overnight charging, no problems, does not indicate the correct charging but indicates the correct discharge and after 4 days at least I downloaded it at 65%. It's ok for me.

    • @CotyRiddle
      @CotyRiddle 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TheUlmstar83 it's actually a good thing that it does see something off like that as it could potentially cause bigger problems if it did not place limits on it. I believe the phone percentage is jumping around because the iphone doesn't believe it stayed on all that time without charging...the phone or the bms is confused 😂. The DIY case is also very neat.

    So I guess it can be called a mini tablet now. And since it's an older iphone, the girth can be sort of justified. The TSA people are quick to point fingers :( My aunt lost a new apple laptop to them because she covered it in black satin material so it wouldn't slide on her lap while typing. Never got it back. $2500 down the drain.
    I probably would have just made an external enclosure for the batteries and spray painted the thing to look like the iphone's shell. Then double-sided tape it to the phone, or magneted it as well as include metal terminal ends like inside the original internal battery for simple removal.

    I love these videos! I have thousands of Li-Ion cells just sitting here begging to be used, and everything in my house requires 1.5v AA or AAA.
    *Edit: ooooookay, so maybe I don't really have thousands of cells. The actual number is closer to 1500.

    Hello. Wouldn't it be a good idea to install a charge control chip in the batteries to prevent overcharging and overdischarging? that would make that even if the iPhone tries to charge it above the voltage it will not allow it. And don't let the battery cells go below a certain voltage either.

    • @vuaeco
      @vuaeco  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      In theory, yes. But in this case, no. I don't even use the "lightning" port to charge the phone any more as I can just plug it on my own XT30 connector on the back and charge it 10 times faster. That "lightning" port is not so lightning any more, it's obsolete. So if I don't use it, I don't have to worry about it overcharging my battery. As for over discharge, I'll talk about it when I post an update video later on.

    Dedicated Apple charger is needed, 5v 1A and 220v 150 mA. The GPS positioning should be always turned off. Needs internet access. My iphone batt started to radically become better. A game is needed offline, I chose a car game. From 100% down to 0% the title screen should be started, with full backlight (first time only min backlight). The game will enable dpms mode, that’s off by default. Solar charging is needed 3x 1 h, with surveillance, Apple doesn’t support solar, but fixes battery to support 1% for prolonged time. All devices, including windows laptops and android phones should avoid battery saving feature, it destroys capacity after a while. Laptops can use it, not always, only if needed.

    Excelente vídeo e trabalho, para um protótipo em beta há muito que melhorar, mas garanto que há aplicações para este aparelho, imagine ir para uma viagem em lugar remoto e não precisar carregar o telefone, ou ir para áreas em guerra. O mercado é gigante e as aplicações para este formato de aparelho, hoje você fica carregando em um powerbank externo que perde em elevar os 4.1v para 5v e tem que fazer várias recargas.
    Obs.: a medição da bateria tem que ser ignorada no cel, pois está calibrada por software que acredita que tem a célula original e supõe seu gasto pelo tempo, talvez tenha que incrementar um micro voltímetro amperímetro e wattimetro na saída da bateria para se ter uma ideia real dos rendimento e eficiência do conjunto packs baterias...
    Parabéns pelo projeto... e viva o compartilhamento...

    I've tried this idea on so many phones even bigger battery packs, but charging percent doens't show well, connecting batteries in parallel definately increases the capacity, but it disturbs battery charging algorithm Designed in the Phone firmware, and doens't perform according it's capacity, discharging levels never show uniformly,
    If someone want to do same, needs same capacity, same quality, same voltage levels, same charging cycle, same sizs of battery in parallel for steady performance.

    My new samsung phone came with 6000mah battery & gives 13-16hr screen on time basically goes on for 3 days without charge. The older honor 6x had a spicy pillow and also the screen cracked so i only use it as a webcam for my pc and so have this same exact mod done to it but with 18650 cell holder and 2100mah generic china battery cus the bms board is made for lithium hv cells which is 3.8v nominal and 4.3v fully charged so it overcharges the 18650 but it has been like this for 2yrs now and haven't exploded 💀

    • @CotyRiddle
      @CotyRiddle 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      you can safely charge most 18650 cells to 4.35 volts it will just reduce the actual life time of the cell. going over 4.35 is actually where it gets risky. 4.15 to 4.25 is the general charge for a 3.7 volt nominal cell.

    • @CotyRiddle
      @CotyRiddle 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I charge my IMR cells for my mods to 4.3 volts all the time. they don't last as long over a course of several months but honestly I could care less because after about 4 to 6 months the cells generally have degraded to much to even care. 0.15 ohm loads eats them up.

    Finally the solution, at most once a month on the charger and you never have to worry about being without power again, you do need some belt bag or something to have it with you, and what about with the Wi-Fi? too bad my iPhone has a glass back so drilling a hole is not easy 😂👍

You made a protecting case all built in 😂 nice invention wait that examples was a good one tesla model 3 charging your home . After a day you will have stronger hands don’t need a gym with the weight 😅 I have some 26650 I’ll be working on they are so big but might do a power bank project
