- This is a 2-Part One-Pot dinner combining the cooking of a Chicken Tikka Masala Curry with Pot-in-Pot Basmati Rice. It works perfectly to cook both at the same time in the Ninja Foodi Max 15 in 1

I saw your way to cook rice with the pressure cooker setting the other week and it came out PERFECT, that will be my go-to way from now on, thanks.
Looks so good 😊
Thanks soooooo much for this one pot curry n rice. I will now adapt it to my favorite Jalfrezi
Thank you so much for this, I just got my Ninja Foodie and can't wait to try this!
Hope you enjoy it!
Just made this ..really delicious 👏
PS I heated naan in foil on top of rice .
Perfect thanks .
Great idea. Glad you enjoyed it
Hi there! I'm from the Netherlands and have been following you for a month! I'm learning so much!
Today I made the Tikka Masala. Me and my children thought it was too spicey, my husband and mother thought it was perfect. I didn't do the rice in the ninja because the extra pot's are sold out in Holland. And maybe that's the reason why I couldn't get it on high pressure, I've tried it twice but it didn't work. Luckaly it was all cooked but not so thick.
I will try it again another time!
Thank you so much for the video's. You've git some great ingredients in England that are hard to find here!!
What ingredients are you finding difficult to source?
Hi, thanks for watching. You can use any pot for the rice…. A small cake tin works well that you can get in most places. You just want a fixed bottom so it doesn’t leak. Normally not coming up to pressure is one of two things…. Not enough liquid which the ninja will tell you or it’s your seal in the lid. I had this the other day making a pasta dish, just kept trying to build the pressure but wouldn’t go to countdown. I had to stop it, release the pressure that was built up and adjust my lid seal. It’s been fine since. Sounds like that could have been what happened to you.
For me this was spicy enough, my husband can handle more than me. You can always make it really mild… the cayenne adds a lot of heat.
Thank you so much for replying! We keep on trying with the Ninja. I love it and the recipies you make. I only don't now what's the difference betreden the steam in the Middle section and the steam in the airfryer section. I would like to do more steam meals but it all burns...
Hello. Sorry if it’s a stupid question but presumably I can skip the last step if I am not cooking rice in the pot?
Yes of course you can cook the curry in the same way minus the rice.
Yes. I only buy canned whole tomatoes as i heard that they can put the lesser quality tomatoes in the crushed / diced mix. Whether it's true I don't know but it's easier to chop whole tomatoes than to put crushed ones back together.😅 ALL the best.
Thank you for this recipe. I must have not had enough liquid in the pot for this meal to come up to pressure as it was building pressure for a while and then it come up with a message “no pressure”. When I opened the lid, the curry slightly burnt at the bottom 😭 (but it wasn’t burnt previously). Gutted. Will try again tomorrow but will cook it on the hob instead as I can’t bear another failure 🙈 I guess it’s a bit of a trial and error!
Hi, such a shame! I’ve had a few people talk about this and I had this myself with a different recipe. It’s not the liquid. The ninja will tell you to add liquid if there isn’t enough. I found it was my lid seal. I can’t tell you what to do as I wiped mine, twisted and shut lid and it came to pressure. It’s been fine since. A nightmare as it can ruin a whole dinner. If it can’t come right pressure it’s because the seal isn’t tight not the liquid quantity. Try again and clean the seal and have a little look and check. Mine looked fine so definitely couldn’t understand why.
@@susannahskitchen I have cleaned the rubber seal and it seems to have done the trick, many thanks 🙏🏼
On a separate note, have you ever cooked stuffed peppers in the ninja? Also what is the best setting for cooking frozen pastries in it? Sorry for quizzing you all the time but you are my Ninja Queen 🙈
@@theburningveil hi, not made stuffed peppers in it. I tend to air fry something with pastry. You could bake
Hi there. Have you noticed your food sticking to the bottom of the pan by any chance? I find after having my ninja for about two months pressure, cooking and sauté doesn’t matter what it is, whether it be curry, spaghetti Bolognese chilli. I always seem to have to stir at constantly because it sticks to the bottom and I don’t know why because it’s slightly scratched here and there but nothing major
Mine sticks and starts to burn easily on sear/saute which is very annoying. I find the levels frustrating as 4/5 burns and starts to stick but 3 does nothing. I’d rather use a frying pan but I like to use the ninja solely.
My pasta did catch previously on pressure cook but I’ve realised that I need to layer and not stir - meat/veg on bottom, then tomatoes/sauce/stock and add pasta to the top but don’t stir it in. Rice I always use the pot-in-pot method like this video as it avoids any sticking
@@susannahskitchen right I see, I’m glad I’m not the only one😀. It would be good if it had half setting too , like 3.5 , 4 , 4.5 etc. I work away and spend allot of nights away in hotels and I take it with me, I work in construction and I’ve usually got something going all day slowly ready for when I get back and the other lads are spending fortunes on takeaways. I like your channel, good stuff thanks👍👍
@@nicholasdobson3185 that’s brilliant that you bother to do that. So much better for you. I love a slow cooker recipe… gotta good Thai Curry coming up soon
Looks delicious, I've got to try a veggie version of this. I'll need to get that cooking pot set first!
HOW DO WE COOK NANN BREAD PLEASE
I've not made any in the Ninja.....I can look into it
There is an error with the coconut milk in your recipe book, it says half a tin of coconut milk, watching your video you only added 2 tablespoons of coconut milk, wonder why there was no pressure
Hi, There will only be no pressure if there is not enough liquid or the lid seal is releasing steam
I use some of the coconut cream in a small quantity but I use 1/2 tin of coconut milk in the actual curry instead of adding water. Coconut milks do vary depending on brand and mine was very watery. Half a tin plus the tin of tomatoes should be enough liquid to come to pressure as this worked for me. If yours wasn't coming to pressure I suggest that it needed a little more liquid which could be more coconut milk or some stock/water. You need 250ml of water/stock/runny liquid to come to pressure. Sorry this didn't work for you.
