Best video I have seen. Would love another illustrating the back passenger door. On my 2003 Ford Explorer XLT, there is no 5.5mm bolt. The bolts holding the door panel are 7mm. Just as a reference, the dealer quoted me almost $800, parts and labor for both the driver's side front and back seat windows. I purchased regulators with motors for both windows for $205.

DO NOT remove the switch panel as is shown here because you will break the rear tab. First move the panel slightly away from the door, then pry the FRONT of the switch panel up and then slide it forward. As you will notice in this video, he has indeed broken off the rear tab.

Outstanding demo. Without that video, changing the window regulator would have been very hard. I used my die grinder to remove the two rivets. Thanks.

You made an amazing video! Very knowledgeable and easy to follow. I love your narration. Very easy to understand and easy to follow instructions. I am a 70 year old G'ma who just bought a 2003 Expedition to haul my teen grand kids around in. Wish me luck! But I feel very comfortable trying to accomplish this task. Thanks again!!

Thank you sooo much!!! Was able to do this myself with minimal struggle. I would add to anybody taking this on themselves, the window regulator that I got to replace the broken one didn’t come with the hardware. The OEM regulator had those welded rivets and would need to be replaced. I got some that worked for about 10 bucks 😁

    Great video!!
I bought the part that is linked in this video, that was a mistake! Bolt holes did not line up and studs on the top of the regulator were too long. So I had to drill new holes and cut the top two studs. By far the worst aftermarket part fitting I have ever seen!!! Buy a different brand and follow this video.

On my 2003 explorer, the top regulator bolts had an interference problem with the window glass. I could not slide the regulator up into position to get the top bolts through the holes. Not enough space between window and door structure.
Easily solved by pulling the window glass out. A five minute job.

The only reason I’m replacing my window regulator is because it doesn’t roll down so I’m kind of stuck and the rolling it down part…

I’m sorry for the price gouging, my car has a 5.5bolt and my windows were a total of 60 dollars each including labor. THATS ONE EXPENSIVE 7mm BOLT!
