I have a BFA in Fashion Design (in a galaxy far far away), but I hate fashion. You have inspired me to weed out my wardrobe and just stick with basics. Spring/Summer: black lightweight sweats, and tees of black, grey, and red; Fall/Winter: I have about four colorful soft sweaters I got at Macy’s on sale last year. Five pairs of shoes and boots; one raincoat (red!), one faux fur winter coat (a steal and incredibly warm), a couple of warmer weather jackets.
I’m WFH now, semi-retired, and an introvert. Dresses and heels? Nah.
I think your wardrobe is very nice. It is reflective of who you are and what you like. Keeping things minimal is calming to life. Your TH-cam presentation is friendly and informative. Thank you.

I can relate so much to your wardrobe. For example shoes, I like wearing them dirty too, it's real, stains are life in them. Same for a good quality pant that there's sign of wear but it shows life in it!

I have mostly black tops too but as a girl mine r more fitted and r different designs and textures bit all match my 2 pair if jeans and one pair tennis shoes or my black boots. Great vid. 😍😘 oh that reminds me , I need to clean out my underwear and sock drawer. Lol

Am I a minimalist? I only have 2 pants, all black, 2 t-shirts black again, 3 shirts (blue and black). 2 shoes once for summer once for winter. That’s it 😅

I wish there were a women version for this video as a guide. The minimalistic wardrobe I've seen from American/European women all include like 38 pieces of clothing and seasonal pieces. I'm from Malaysia with a hot climate too, I don't need 3 different types of outerwear :'(

😁 i feel the same way sometimes. i basically have minimalist taste in terms of colors and tones but in terms of quantity... let's just say i have more than enough. but fashion has always been a pretty strong passion for me. 🤷🏼♂️ so i don't think i would feel 100% fulfilled or content with owning only five articles of clothing or anything super stringent like that. i have done it before in the past and did it for a long time, but eventually i said "fuck this label, i want the best of both worlds" and decided if i only get things that i really, really enjoy or need i will be much more content. and so far i have been.

My capsule wardrobe isn't minimalist: it's white, grey, black, and navy and camel. As much as I like your wardrobe, I look better in navy or camel now, so no more graphic outfits. But I share this belief that the wardrobe should bring happiness, be as sustainable as possible, and mended.

Navy and camel are your “black and white”. Great base to work from. For a hint of color, burgundy works well with both navy and camel, btw.

Minimalism is about taking away things you don't need , or things that don't make you happy.
If you love shoes , allow yourself a few nice pairs , don't go crazy but if it's a passion then you can indulge !

3 shorts (for house wear including)
1 work shoes (with 1 flat sandal incase of rain)
1 mountain climbing shoes (with 1 outdoor sandal)

3 black leggings (1 extra shorts)
1 goretex jacket for outdoor
1 sling bag for work

...am I extreme? 🤣🤣 I don't have cotton clothes, aside from jeans and jacket, everything is drifit. 😍

To each his own - yes, it's minimalist but being in a uniform style is boring for individuals who thrive in diversity, variety and flexibility. Congrats if you are happy that way. Some people find happiness in more possessions/collections, sounds like disney's ariele🧜♀️
Nice wardrobe! It is stylish without breaking the bank, and it is interchangeable. I will try to follow your example. I do have more suits and sport coats and I do have winter clothes as I live in the US, but I will only use what I need👌🏻
I live in Scotland (born in Singapore). Scottish guys don't do seasonal clothing either. We just accept the fact its freezing and maybe put on a hat. I don't own any jumpers(sweaters). I just have a thick jacket and a hat.

I live a very minimalist lifestyle especially with clothing. I usually only have 4-6 tops total, two pants and a few sweaters, and I care for them extremely carefully. I do live in a four season climate. So I have a fall and spring coat, a winter coat, hat and gloves. I do find that I have to change at least 2-3 items per year because of wear and tear, even though I hang almost everything to dry. My goal words for 2020 are also Wabi Sabi, but they apply more to my home than my clothing. I think that more people could benefit from giving up what they think they have to look like, and embrace a small wardrobe. Is minimalism popular in Singapore? Could you do a video about how it does or does not align with your culture? Thanks

I live in Trinidad and Tobago so my wardrobe has the same benefit of not needing clothing for 4 seasons. I like colour so my tops are colourful (all solid deep autumnal colours, excluding pink. Or small florals) but my bottoms are black or demin, so i can grab a top and a bottom and it works . I currently have 30 casual pieces: 5 bottoms 25 tops including 3 outerwear). I have 6 dresses beside my casual 30 that I use for dressier occasions, including my 2 very formal dresses; a black and a blk/red floral floor length. I have 6 shoes/6 bags.
My style is boho, 70s and 4 yr old (I love overrals)

I’d describe my wardrobe as a “work in progress.” I’m going in to a new phase of life and trying to get my wardrobe organized and practical by focusing on buying more high quality basics/essentials. My focus lately has been on shoes. In NYC it’s so important to have the right shoes especially during winter. Bought an amazing pair of Sorel boots and a good ole standard black pair of Hunter rain boots. Some comfortable Nike’s for working out and a cute and comfy pair of Michael Kors loafers for work. They’ve all been worth it. 😫❤️ Yay.
Mine is a “work in progress” as well. Good comfortable shoes are a must in the city.
