I grew up in the caribbean, but I never used to get burned as a kid because my parents would slather me with pasty white sunscreen every morning before school, lucky me. But I got the worst burn of my life a few years ago and used extra virgin olive oil and Aloe vera. HOLY GUAC it really works. Not both at the same time but you can alternate- not such a great feeling having oil on your skin but once it soaks in a bit it's not too bad!
