@@Bc232klm can you give some links or models names? I am looking for a really flat screen (touch-enabled would be best) as my board for the roleplaying/board games.
You failed to mention this is a kickstarter and they won't ship until may, that is, if they ship at all. That's a hard stop for me, no thanks.
10 หลายเดือนก่อน +3
It's already funded way above the need. And May is pretty close, so they probably have them ready to roll out. JSAUX is actually pretty good company - I use their other hardware.
And that the company mostly makes accessories, not external monitors. Do they even have any prior experience in making monitors? Like the other guy said - just wait…for people to buy it, get it and test it first. I love the idea of it. But I have no idea if it’s executed properly (I hope it is and I want to get one this year)
I still prefer a USB-C capture card and my trusty iPad Pro, to use as a portable monitor for my MacStudio....works like a charm, and just swipe up and I can use my iPad as an iPad...
@@MutantNinjaDonut sorry, didn't reply to Your first question, when I boot up my MacStudio, I need an external (HDMI or USB C) screen to login, only after I can share my iPad with ScreenSharingl but with a capture card, it works like a plug & play external monitor
@@strategicpetroleum2315 not noticeable, for me it works really well. I don't game on it, but for everything else its just brilliant. Get a dock also, so You can charge the iPad at the same time
this is the first time i'm so tempted to fund a kickstarter project, if this can do what it claimed (2k res, touchscreen, 500 nit...etc), easily this can put all the existing portable dual monitors to shame
The problem I have with non-battery powered external monitors is that they drain the laptop battery pretty heavily... That's why I prefer using an iPad as a monitor (with apps that work like Sidecar but better) or even my Tab S8 ultra if I need more real estate. There is no wire, no battery drain and no latency with the right app
i love it, i just bought a simialr model.. uperfect delta, smaller bezel but no magnetic back for vesa mounts and such.. i plan on ordering this model aswell
Luke, I was using a Mac Mini of late 2014 connected to a Dell FHD display till my son tinkered with the display settings. Now I can’t figure out how to reset the display settings. Is it possible to use a usb drive installed with a Linux distro to use the Mac bypassing the MacOS without installing the Linux on the Mac as it is done with Windows machine?
Very interesting. I like to think I’d use it as a large landscape or vertical monitor so I could design on a large screen and have the laptop screen for manuscript or PDF reference.
i have a question , i have a 300 dollar budget for a MacBook so the question , is a 2012 13in fully upgraded MacBook pro better than a refurbished 2017 MacBook Air , only going to use this computer for youtube , music related guitar stuff
So, are the JSOX displays 320 or 480 dpi? No, no, in all seriousness, on those long flights do you have to buy 3 seats or can you get by with just 2? 🤣 I wish you could connect this to an iPad Pro. That is my mobile device.
No you've always been able to drive a second monitor using displaylink. It's a proprietary technology which allows a monitor to connect over USB. Requires an adaptor but m1 onwards could always run one external monitor over USBC and one over displaylink at the same time. I did it for years
I work with a 16 inch portable screen when on the go, this is totally awesome to be able to have 2 extra screens when on the go so easy i really am interested !!
Can you hook up the screen directly to the ipad pro?? I want to get the new M4 ipad pro 13" and match it with the dual screens. if it does work.. which flipgo do i need to get?
Do you know what would be even better? If the monitors edges were magnetised. Pull it apart (out of stacked mode) then reattach short edge to short edge. 😁
Its cool, but that split in the middle using as a single display would be a deal breaker for me also the height difference compared to a laptop in both magnetic and kickstand doesn't look great, its kind of all over the place. Resolution looks low too having misshapen windows on different displays annoys me. I like just using my 12.9" ipad in screen share mode it's nearly the same size as the 13 MacBook Air and sits perfectly next to it for a dual display set up. The benefit is if you away you can use that for media consumption.
I’ve got an iPad with me all times and that can be already be used as a second screen. This can be nice on windows devices but I don’t see the Apple perks just yet vs using native screens that are also seen as a screen and not with display link.
Unfortunately Apple’s stubborn refusal to implement Display MST means solutions would have to use something like DisplayLink Of course the 1-display output limit on the base model chips also involves that
Tab with the uses the same resolution as my desktop monitor only it's like slightly taller so it has like slightly more vertical pixels and the weird thing is that everything is way smaller on it or I should say bigger like the text on it only goes to a certain word if you have like a really long sentence versus on my desktop monitor. This product would be the coolest one of all the secondary displays I've seen. I don't actually need a secondary monitor but these videos are cool to watch and if I did need one this would be definitely on my radar minus the price holy crap.
3/5 of models don't support DisplayLink or "UltraView", do they need two cables? I love the 3:2 aspect ratio on the 13", shame that 16" is 16:10 because I could totally see myself ditching my main work monitor for a foldable 4:3. Tent mode would also be nice for mirroring content to people across the table. I see the potential and wish JSAUX success, but this could clearly use some improvement.
the 16 in model is where its at, if it works on an m2 base model it would fly on m3. though the peak nits is under whelming. Makes sense for keeping it fair priced
How are viewing angles? Do you know what UltraView is about in detail? Does lack of it (in touch screen version) mean it will work as one screen or two?
I have an Asus Zenscreen portable monitor and I feel like these products are great for students. I can just bring it to a study room/library with me, and do my work there, since I find it very difficult to focus at home. On the other hand, my degree is very scientific, so I often need to have a research paper, a text editor, AND my code open all at once, which just doesn't comfortably fit on one screen 😅
Thanks. At 3' mark you show it as one screen display in portrait mode. Do you know how it appears with a 2 page pdf? It's useless to me for web pages but may be useful to display 2 pages of sheet music in portrait mode. Tx
I got a 14" MBP and I do a lot of work in Ableton Live that has a lot on the screen so everything is small. I was thinking of trading in my 14" MBP for a 16", but something like this would be better and give more screen real estate but would want to see it in person to see how high a resolution it is for busy screen like Ableton Live.
An interesting device and I've been looking around for options but my ideal would be a 17.3 inch 4k portable monitor and these are available though they are pricey. There's even an 18+ inch 4k monitor but it's really pricey. I do not really like the seam when using this dual product n horizontal mode. One of the other challenges with large external portable monitors is whether or not they will fit in my bag.
well there is better1 one screen that has sides so the laptop is in the middle with each display on both sides making you have a large screen evern three if you want, I don't like the one you are showing
Don’t have an iPad? Buy any of the older generation ones for the same price as this thing! You’ll even get a whole ass iPad to go with your monitor. Infinitely more value than this dumb ad read
Saw a post in reddit pointing out some limitations. "Unlock with Apple Watch doesn’t work when using DisplayLink. Apple disables Unlock with Apple Watch with the message “Unlocking with Apple Watch is not available while your screen is being shared”.DisplayLink has a few other limitations on Macs: HDCP is not supported so you may not be able to watch Netflix, Hulu, iTunes Movies, etc.; only 4 external displays are supported; screen rotation is not supported; Clamshell mode is partially supported. There are quite a few limitations to using DisplayLink to extend your displays. "
Looks awesome, but I'm still burned by a previous portable monitor kickstarter from Asia that milked me of my $$$ and a million more from others, to never be heard from again. Vinpok anyone?
Sorry but this is just awful. Looks cheap. Doubtful interface. Requires a beapoke stand to use landscape so not really portable at all and when it is landscape it has a blooming great barndown the middle. This is compromise personified.
Luke, you once started with old macs and cool nerdy stuff. Now however, you are just a moneymaker with almost no cool nerdy stuff content. If I wanna know what Apple will release, you are there apparently. But this is a new low!
Really a main channel infomercial for a Chinese kickstarter? I know TH-camrs have to make a living but yikes. This kind of thing should really be a sponsor spot at best and not a whole video.

Maybe you could make a video of how to use an old iMac as a screen for a new MacBook
Wow what a product! Great review cheers dude
How much power do the displays draw from the laptop? How much of a hit do you take to battery life driving these things?
I guess a lot
without a power source my m1 macbook air runs my single external for about 3 hours.
