With the size of your operation why not at a touch of a button to activate a recording
over a few speakers.

Traditionally over the years pigeon fanciers whistled with there lips and shake a can of food, and as time has gone on people use a whistle of some sort allways having a second1 incase the first whistle jamms or breaks. If they use an electrical devise as you have suggested, it could fault or break or there could be an electrical black out in the area. So 100% a whistle is the safest option

When I started with pigeons in the mid late 60s Dad and I used to whistle and shake the can. They didn’t come home and drop in the numbers as this loft though

@markf3229 I never had there numbers either, but when I started racing late 90's I whistled like you and youre Dad, but I was on the line of flight, and got a brain wave after a few years and got a soccer whistle, never had problems with pigeons over shooting then, they broke from batches of 20 to the hundreds before my house and pulled there wings back and hit the loft, my point being they couldn't hear me whistle and shake the can, but the definitely heard the whistle. With out a doubt 1 of the best tings I ever did 2 get my pigeons 2 drop and not over shoot
