@Molly Keaton totally agreed! jeff vinik def has the midas touch. treating people right, trying to provide resources for the team to succeed and giving back to the community. vinik is a class act. i really enjoyed the 2020 scf final and watching the lightning playoff games. my favorite player is brayden point. as a canadian having followed the game since 1980, tampa has done very well as a non-traditional market. i think going forward with the core guys signed, TBL should continue to remain competitive for the next 5 years easily. enjoy your lightning and cheers from southern ontario 🍁
The 1st hockey game I attended was in Tampa and for sure I'm a Lightning fan and a hockey fan today because of this place. Amazing! Props on the channel!
I think the horn was there before the lightning coils. I am wondering just how loud those coils are in comparison to the goal horn. I am surprised that you can hear them at all during the horn when in the arena.
When you're there in person you definitely hear them. On broadcast all you hear is horn. You can kinda of make it out if you know what to listen for. They're not exactly the same but they kinda sound similar IMO.
@@_TheRinks Bolts fan here, I noticed that they sometimes don't let of the tesla coils for very long or just for one of the two horn blasts. If I watch a game on broadcast I think that the tesla coils somehow "soften" the horn a little.
And you can't forget sparkman's wharf one block away is an awesome experience. Bars, bowling, Boating, food, fishing, whatever you want is within walking distance of the arena.
Coincidence, as far as I can remember the horn has been the same even when it was the Ice Palace and especially when it was the Forum . I’m more curious if the Rays home rum horn used to be the Bolts goal horn. I was WAYY to young back then to really know
The Tampa Bay Rays use a Kahlenberg Q-3A, which a different model. The Tampa Bay Lightning use a Kahlenberg S-203CV. Additionally, the Rays’ horn is a different tuning than the Minnesota Wild and the Atlanta Gladiators
I don't think so, the Rays installed that relatively recently, they haven't always had it. When the Lightning played at the thunder dome I think the horn was more of a low frequency fog horn with a siren. I was born during the offseason between the thunder dome and ice palace so I never saw a game there, but from the limited research I've done that's what it sounds like.
One time after a game, a friend knew the Gm for Nashville, we got to meet him. During the conversation, he unofficially, stated that the Amalie arena is the best in hockey. They also won best sports venue by SI last year. Have season tickets fot the 3 sports teams in Tampa and the customer service and experience is in another level at Amalie. I wish the Rays and Bucs would learn something because those two franchises have no idea how to make the fans have a great experience at the games. It’s really disappointing from all aspects of the stadium.
It's kinda cold but that's mainly because of the contrast between the weather outside and the cooler temps of the building imo. But you can comfortably wear shorts and sandals if you want.
Amalie is off the chain during the playoffs!!!!! Plus there isn't a bad seat in the house.
Vinik has done such amazing things for not only Lightning fans, but for the entire Tampa community!
So I've read! Tampa has a good thing going down in Florida! Hopefully It'll translate into playoff success one of these seasons. Thanks for Watching!

The horn was installed in 1997. The tesla coils were installed in 2011-2012 during renovations and renaming

The horn was here first (and they actually took out two seating sections to put in the organ)
Being Florida, is the inside of the rink freezing cold to keep the ice from melting?

go bolts! best rink in the league
The goal horn is Supposed to replicate a Cruise horn because the actual horn is from a cruise ship
You should rank your top ten favorite scoreboards from around the league.
Great Idea! Stay tuned!
Lightning: Scores.
NWS: National Weather Service has issued a Sever Thunderstown Warning for Amalie Arena indoor.
The only reason why I'm here is because the Tampa Bay Lightning won the 2020 Stanley Cup
#WesternFlaInTheSunBayCity!
Would be better if there was less face time and MORE images of the places described!
This is where Jake Paul and Tommy fury are gonna fight
It is a dump
No the dump is closer to Town 'N' Country.
Ah, It seems that some *PATHETIC* 8 year old has entered the comments!
