It seems obvious that parent Hyundai wants their Genesis brand to be the flagship Korean luxury marque. Kia just takes the Genesis platforms they have access to and create things for fun like the Stinger or K900 under Kia branding.
Aside from the engine (which is to be expected tbh) Im impressed with how well this isolates road noise
when the turn signal sounds, everything becomes clear!
But they are great, they are trying and there is a consumer!

That's KIA's problem for the cheap image they created. Also Korean brands are not as common until KIA/Hyundai have made more waves over the last decade. They still have lots to prove on U.S. soil. Got to realize that Japanese cars have been here since the 70s and proved they belong. KIA has lots of ground to make up. Maybe younger generations to come will have the same feeling that baby boomers and gen X have about Toyota and Honda quality.
@@drivecfl Currently Kia has currently been selling cars in the States (25 years) longer then Honda had selling cars here been when they introduced Acura (16 years 1970-1986) and nearly as long as between the point Toyota started selling cars in the States and they introduced Lexus (32 years 1957-1989). Hyundai has been selling cars here since 1986 and has had their Genesis sedan since 2008 and it's was decent when introduced and have improved it a lot since it's introduction. The last 2 generations of the Kia Optima and Hyundai Sonata have been great.
I think you're trying to hold Kia to bar that's much higher than Honda or Toyota had to face at equivalent periods in their timelines.

I remember making fun of KIA. In Croatia, we used to say that KIA means ( ''Kao Imaš Auto''), which would roughly translate to ''Pretend To Have Car''. Years later, here am I, deeply in love with KIA - K900 or Stinger my dreamcars,but as we don't have K900 in Europe, will have to stick with Stinger..but boy what KIA did..that's just amazing. Can't wait to see future models! :)

This car is proof that people care more about a name than they do about actually quality, reliability, or driving experience. People will choose a higher-priced German vehicle over this and spend far more in repairs and ownership costs all because they don’t want to see “Kia” on their steering wheel. Beautiful, nicely executed vehicle that would shock anyone who gets inside and gives it a chance.

Kias been doing great things, it’s quickly moving from a mediocre company to one of the best. If they can dominate this luxury space they’re gonna kill it. You get all this for 60k? Insane. Mercedes would have charged 100k easily

Remember the Hyundai EQUUS? You can get that car for $20,000 and get a Roll Royce feature in it except V12. Like V12 would matter anyway because Bentley Mulsanne also used V8.

@@dave_riots Of course it is. They have spent more than 100 years into making this badge worth something, of course they'll charge you for it. You can't just skip 100 years of automotive manufacturing by byuing off the best German enginneers and the best Italian designers and wake up "premium" one morning. This is literally what Kia/Hyundai are doing and why they are improving so quickly. Which, ironically, shows even they acknowledge who the best automakers are. Even if this Kia is on Mercedes/BMW/Audi level (which it is not) for half the money, people who can afford it would still buy Mercedes/BMW/Audi because of the history and heritage that comes with the badge.
Kia is something new now... Its more advanced than before.

@Kilo Byte That's the point. It wouldn't be stealth if it screamed rich man would it? Not every rich man wants to look rich. Some prefer to be low key when it comes to cars and other things. It's about being confident in yourself without feeling the need to impress people. At over 60k for a K900 with the vip package, this is in no way a poor mans luxury car.
Gives me BMW 7 series vibes, with a 3 series price tag. I bought the Kia Amanti in 2004. Shockingly, I was in the market for a 2-3 year old, certified pre-owned Mercedes sedan. For shits and giggles, I test drove the brand new Kia Amanti after testing 3 different Mercedes at the dealership down the road. I was shocked at how nice it was. I payed twelve grand less than I was going to pay for a used Benz, and I got to take the Plastic wrap off the carpet and seats, and screens myself. Only had 3 miles on it, and smelled like expensive fine leather and new car! I have been with Kia ever since! I will continue to buy their vehicles, as the quality of the luxury and tech, as well as styling and warranty is comparable, yet surpasses most BMW, Audi, and Mercedes Benz.

I like when KIA gives U LED lights, they go 100%. Unlike most GM & Cadillac models, giving LEG mixed with old fashioned incandescent turn blinkers! Has little 2do with cost because KIAs undercut any comparable GM offerings in price. GM wants to see how long they can get away with it with no other valid reasons.
great original idea of just doing a pov drive. always wanted that in videos so i could see the dimensins and functioning of the car.
