    The Stairway to heaven some will remember . The ruck marches are actually not so bad because your on some kind of mental high and you just hold your B button down until u finish .

    Went on my first ruck ever, and made a massive mistake. Train your legs before you ruck run 13 miles 😂😂😂 I still have a muscle knot I’m trying to work out, and it’s been three weeks. 🤦‍♂️

    I did my 15k ruck in december 2003 at Sill. We had freezing cold wind during the middle of the night for it was along a flat dirt road on the open plains. Good times with the tricks the DS's pulled on us.

    Man I remember having to be road guard during this and most of the people decided they didn’t wanna be road guard😂 it was me and two others one in the front me in the middle and one in the back. I swear I ran that more than not

    standard infantry weight is 50lbs, not including mission load, water, chow, extra ammo , munitions, 1st aid kit,
    radio man: singars radio with extra batteries, machine gunner, 600 rounds w/ machine gun, assist gunner: spare barrel, Tne, gloves, extra smmo
    Medic; litter, extra water, lz marker and 40 to 45 lb aid bag 😮😮😮😮

      Mark to past UK infantry Role Fitness Test is 😮 45kg (99lbs) other roles vary. For my role it'd also 45kg as we deploy inbededed in infantry platoon.
      Our pace too pass the RFT is around 3mph. But we train at a higher pace than that (depending on job)

      In the UK we are expected not to run during a TAB(Tactical advance to battle-army term) or (yomp-royal marine term)
      We do burst into runs for set periods throughout the TAB but you should only ever run to fill a gap in formation, not to keep up.

      @@Soldier1287eh, sorta. Nobody is really running just to go faster on a forced march. We’d occasionally go for a ruck run for PT, but if we’re just going to a range, then we’ll just walk 3-4 miles an hour.

    I just came back from sere selection, rucking is all we did and I can tell you from my experience, 1330 is the standard. I was rucking at a 13 flat and was barely top of the class

    FYI: from one of the .mil websites: The goal is to complete the 12-mile ruck march under 4 hours. For RECONDO candidates, it must be completed under 3 hours.

      4 hours is for a formation ruck, 3 hours is for release rucks.

      Army wide release ruck standards are 12 miles in 3 hours. That's not just selection, that's the standard for joes in 101st ABN, 10th MTN, etc.

      Recondo School hasn't existed in decades. I was a LRS Soldier they do have RSLC which is probably similar. I know Green Berets that tought in the MAC V Recondo Course in Vietnam I'll ask them.

    standard 'ruck' tabbing time for the British Army for everyone is 8 miles in 2 hours...the US mil are good at a lot of things, but endurance, hardship and 'rucking' aint it!

    August in Fort Jackson rucking in the hottest part of the day. Then in Korea in their legendary summers, running 2nd ID Standard of 10 Mile run once a week with five miles every day except Sunday. Rucking in full Chemical Gear including your Gas Mask for 15Miles. Been there, done that.

      45lbs dry is the army standard.Then 2 full canteens ( 5lbs ) and full camel back (3L=Roughy 9lbs). So roughy the avg is 60

      @@N3003Qguys always do it in maybe 2 hours or 2:20:00. Never did this in the Marine Corps, but I’ve been training seriously now for about 18 months and I’m doing 12 miles in under 3 hours with 35 pounds on my back in Garmont NFS boots. Oh, and I’m 55. Lol

      It is but when it comes time to do it, it’s a different story, you got a heavy pack, a rifle, some hills, already exhausted from previous training, may not seem like it’s long but 12 miles with all that weight on you and the heat is very exhausting
