I love how in each universe their relationship is different,but their lives always cross paths.
Other people in the comments are trying to guess how the universes show their relationship,but I like the diversity.

Yes!! Yes you get it! You are the first to point this out and I'm so happy you did.
While in most worlds the archetypes and personalities of the characters remain the same, their story and relationship has so many possibilities.
Like the fox and the wolf:
In one, the fox kills the wolf who attacked it. In another, the wolf and the fox meet and are simply... curious towards the other. Maybe even friendly. And in the final, the wolf kills the fox and mourns its death.
Each of the realities reveals something pivotal about the characters while their relationship doesnt necessarily stay the same. But they will always, always meet.
