Hi Chris The first couple of minutes of this Vlog so Brutally yet so Beautifully Honest, without telling us why. Hang in there. You clearly enjoyed getting out for early morning phots and getting your MoJo back. As expected the quality of the Vlog is fantastic. Thank you Mel
Thanks Mel. Astute. We've had a few days of sun and it's not been cold either. Life is improving and been out taking pics two days on the bounce and I've invested in the new Lightroom and Photoshop. Thanks for the support and enjoy your week.
The boat was just going too fast and it was a bit of luck. He would have been at fault due to not being able to stop. Although that wouldn't have help in the potential damage to my boat. Hope all is well. Thanks Trevor and have a great week.
Great to see you adapting to the colder months. I love winter on my boat and i love summer. I dont feel alone because i have my phone and can chat with family and friends any time. Nice to see you smiling again.
Thanks Sean. It was mentioned in the comments that alone and lonely are two different things. I don't feel alone as I talk to people daily. Lonely.....that's different issue. It'll get better in time. Have a great week.
Chin up Chris everything in life is temporary! Great shot of the backdrop to the tree. Enjoy the connection with your new boating buddy....I feel an interview coming on!! Have a great week and focus maybe on Spring knocking on the door.
Thank you. The photography is all about composition and I'm still trying to improve. It's a challenge to take photos in the local area. You've only got what you've got. Pylons.....key feature clearly. Have a great week.
Just a sent a coffee to get you up to take some more fantastic sunrise shots. 😁 Something about the shot of the moon reflecting off the canal appealed to me. I guess it was the semblence of snow, the way the moon reflected off the ripples. Favourite go-to soup: leek and potato with some garlic and lemon zest. I use a veggie soup base or just a bit of olive oil. Sometimes it's just a sort of stir fry with some finely chopped kale, garlic, chopped carrots, peppers, and whatever comes to hand with a cube or two of mild Glico curry. Just realized I've lost track of time watching. It's after 11:30 so I'd best be off to bed. Otherwise our local crows will we walking me!
I'll try the leak and potato. It must be reasonably easy to knock up. I make such a mess making anything from scratch. Thanks Peter and also thanks you for the additional support. Have a great week.
Hi Chris Small point!! when you slice veg tip of fingers down on the veg and first knuckle rub with knife, that way you don't cut fingers!! your nail is behind knuckle and shields finger.
Hello there, this is Colin's wife. Heather, I hope you guys have fun. Enjoy the journey . All I can do is watch your volgs, has he does not vlog yet. 😊.. but it's good. I like watching your vlogs 😂 you do a great job don't stop being you ...hope i get too meet you when i am able to get over there ..stay save and have fun look forward to seeing you and colins journey 🎉 ever now and then give he a hard time for me he deserves it 😂
Hi Heather. Thanks for getting in touch. I'm sure we'll have a great time travelling and when you going him, I'm sure you'll both very much enjoy the experience. It's a bit windy at the moment but I'm hoping to catch up with Colin in the very near future. Thanks for the support and have a great week.
Hey Chris, sorry to hear you have been feeling a bit down mate. Had a bit of a tough start to the year myself too - I was put on cancer patient pathway on Boxing Day 😢 but thanks to the amazing NHS happy to say been given the all clear this week. Just remember you have survived everyday of your life so far… bad days pass / some take longer than others, but they always pass 😊 it’s hard to motivate some days , but even making a cuppa is a win… brighter days are coming… take care mate
Those are very worrying times. Been there. Pleased that all has turned out well for you and the family as they all suffer. I'm going to do a piece on life in the future. I saw something on Insta. It resonated with me. Have a great week Jon.
I hope you are dealing with winter better and at least getting more sunny days. Some places in the states are getting hit with 6 inches of rain in one day. I live about 20 miles south of Lake Michigan ( Crown Point, Indiana). Except for three days in December when we had temps of minus 30 below zero F, this is the mildest winter I can remember in my 77 years. Plus, we’ve only had one snow storm worth recording! I am really looking forward to your next vlog; they’re very interesting. I’ve even gone back to give some of them a second viewing. Best wishes, Tom.
Thanks Tom. I hope the one in 20 mins won't disappoint. The Californian state has had a little bit of rain, I've read. I remember being in DC and it rained....it properly rained and that was it. We just get annoying little rain that lasts for days. Small bits of sun. In DC, you get proper rain and then the sun comes out. And the swing in temperature was about 10 degrees C within an hour. You get quantities of cold, rain and heat.....perhaps living here isn't so bad but........
Another enjoyable video, Chris. It's a time of awakenings. Spring, Daylight, photography, new ideas. I'm really looking forward to seeing what your year brings. Thank you so much for sharing.
Summer or Winter your videos always make me want to join the boat life (which I may do this year), I recently found a lot of Joy in an old talent I hadn't used in some time, keep up the photography, you capture the beautiful countryside we are blessed with so well.
Thank you Richard. I never want to put someone off this life. It has great moments that for me would be lovely to share with someone special. Perhaps one day. Taking more photos. Warmer weather gets me wanting to get outside more. Thanks for the comment and support Richard. Have a great week.
Chris buy a 2 nd hand DSLR & do long exposures. You can pick them up crazy cheap & one 4-5 yrs old is still perfectly viable. Put the aperture on max.. put ISO low enough to allow a 20-30 sec exposure. It’s cheap & you can really get a great outcome with a lot of light coming in with movement like your train
I do have a few pre-loved DSLRs. I will use those settings for a long exposure and show the results. Thanks for the tip and comment. I appreciate it. Have a great week.
Life is but a stage and we are merely actors upon that stage . . . meaning . . . you hurt, we hurt . . .you laugh, we laugh . . . you are okay, we are okay! Be yourself so that we can be ourselves! Great video Chris! You are needed . . . we are needed! Cheers and thank you for being our coach and leader!
Life is a stage .....that was a from a movie or song. Not sure which or by who. Great phrase. Thanks for the supportive comment Ron. Have a great week.
We really hope the next few months travelling with the narrowoater you mentioned bring you lots of laughs and joy. We are saddened to hear that things are a challenge at the moment, we can honestly say that having met you , we know you always rise to the challenge. Lots of hugs Paul and Veronica
Chin up chuck, life on the water, or road in our case can get a little lonely. Also, BRING BACK feed me Fridays. Happy Birthday, Per Ardua to all that served and will
so i was listening to radio 2 in the car (its been on that channel since my son borrowed the vehicle) and they were saying that if you are actually interested when you ask someone how they are, you follow up the "OK" answer with - but how are you really? hope there's somebody around to say that to you Chris.. and great that you're going to be travelling in convoy for a bit - that should make a difference to the last weeks of winter
I have a few friends who do just that. A fella I served with in the 80s called to make sure I was ok. I didn't think I displayed a man who was in need of support but clearly I was wrong reading all the comments. I know Colin will be a good friend. Thanks for your support. Have a great week.
It'll be nice to catch up ElleJay. As soon as I'm on the K&A you'll need to let me know when I'm close by as at times the vids are behind reality. That said, over the past few weeks I am where I am. Have a great week and thanks for the comment and support.
Great vlog Chris as always. I thoroughly understand your loneliness but I think you have chosen your lifestyle wisely, my question to you would be if you had chosen to live in a flat in a town/city how would you have coped ? Living on your boat has had quiet times but you are meeting interesting people and seeing lovely countryside. All the Best Ian 👍😮
Interesting point Ian. The answer is, I'm not sure. The flat idea does have its benefits as it's a lifestyle that is familiar and has benefits but this one....well it's has its challenges and benefits too. I have grown as a person through the experience. Thanks for the thought. Have a great week.
I saw some snowdrop two days ago as I was cursing by. Lots of them knocking about. Thanks Julie. Cheering up. Sun has been out for two days on the bounce. Love it. Have a great week.
Spring around the corner Chris, daffs & snow drops out, afternoons getting lighter we'll all feel better. Hoping to 'bump' into you around Watford locks.
Seen some Snowdrops and a Daff. I'm supposed to be in the area next week. Not sure when now as the wind has got up or at least going to and Colin wants a good first journey. As soon as the wind drops, I'll wander up. I'm within walking distance. Thanks Mick. Have a great week.
Hey Andy. Did Doons get in touch. He and Tam want to create a BG13 meet. Let me know when you're on the water. You will enjoy it. I'm sure the 100th will be a big occasion. Not sure I'll be attending though. Discuss. I've only got one chin these days. How many have you got now?
@@chrismears-inslowtime not sure I will have much interest in reunions mate. There was only - what- 15(?) of us passed out? 1 bloke got binned soon after for false attestation (I believe) and I’m not sure where the others are or went! We could hold it in a phone box I suppose. 100th- not for me. Chins- my face has gone slack in the last 9 years having worked so hard and not laughed as much as I used to! That said, I will be retiring at 59 and Becky at 44- so it’s been worth the effort!
Thanks again for sharing your journey l look forward to hopefully meet you on the K&A l be more than happy to help you though cain hill locks and have a good old chin wag until then my friend stay safe keep them vlogs and photos coming 👍
That's very kind Ben. I'll take you up on the offer and please get in touch when you know I'm close. Sometimes the vlogs are a little behind although they have caught bang up to date at the moment. Have a great week.
Hi Max. Thanks for the comment. It’s great you’re getting involved at such an early age. Hopefully you’ll do better than me and in time can help me out on all the tech stuff I just don’t understand. I love you and I’m always here for you despite now being further away. ❤️
That tomato soup looked yummy. However, maybe consider adding toasted black sesame seeds to any of your soups. Adds an amazing nutty flavor. Toast seeds in dry pan on high heat 3-4 minutes. You'll smell them toasting up and that's when you remove them from the heat. Put them in a jar and pour extra virgin olive oil just to the top of the seeds. Store covered in fridge. Then the next time you fill your bowl with soup, add a tablespoon of the toasted seeds to the soup, stir and ENJOY! The first time i came across this recipe, the chef was making cream of cauliflower soup. The last step was to add a dollop of toasted black sesame seeds. I thought, nah. Then he said, don't bother making this soup if you're not going to top with the seeds. Hhhmmm....got my attention. So i made the seeds and tried the soup first without them. Blah. Then with them. Wow! I am a believer! I now have them in my fridge all the time.
Thank you for the tip Julie. Strangely I made cauliflower soup this week and it'll fill a minute of your time next week. I'll get some sesame seeds next time I go shopping. Have a great week.
Great to see the photography again - those beautiful clear skies are amazing. I particularly like the one with the star. It’s a real effort to go out with a camera sometimes but it’s definitely good for mental health, especially since it’s a hobby you really enjoy. Yes, a huge proportion of the pictures you take will not meet your expectations but it’s so worth it for the ones that do…. I find even if I end up with a handful of good photos then it’s worth it. I’ve never cooked soup from scratch - it does look easy. What’s the blender you have? It looks nice and compact. Soup is a great way to get in the variety and number of vegetables you ‘should’ be eating too. It’s great that you will have someone to travel with for a while. Happy days - company, longer days, and heading for spring. Hopefully it will help you smile. Have a great week Chris 😊
Photos and soup. One is easy and the other requires more work. That said, I need to tweak the soup making as I make such a mess of the galley. I am looking forward to making a few more soups as you said, good use of veg. Thanks for your support Mishka. Have a great week.
The January blues, I had a touch of that too but all of a sudden felt more positive and energised. Maybe it's the cold dark winter, and now we're heading out the other side, not sure. Great pics, the last 2 were my favourites, moon and tree with sunrise/set. Without the pylons 😀 Thanks for the vlog
I like the moon and took so many of the tree I just had to choose one. January blues is a thing and they have even got Blue Monday which I think is the 3rd Monday of Jan. Life strangle is getting better as the light is drawing out. However, being in the boat when it's cozy with someone special, must be great. I just need to imagine it. Have a great week.
@@chrismears-inslowtime I'm glad life strangle is getting better 😂Yes, if you can visualise it it can happen. What you believe you receive, and all that. It will all work out for you I'm sure. Lots of people really appreciating your vlogs, keep 'em coming!
Hi Chris if your still coming to the K&A canal do not Moore before or after the airsprung bridge your much better going further up and mooring just next to hilperton marina as it's to shallow around the airsprung bridge
@@chrismears-inslowtime also if you can get a spot there theirs some lovely mooring spots at Bradford on Avon just before the lock it's pins only but has a really nice stone side just before the winding hole
Woohooo. Great vlog Chris. Loved the pics...keep em coming...Those pylons are a structural engineer's dream. Your upbeat vibe is contagious, and that married to the beautifully presented scenery and lifestyle is blooming wonderful. Thank you.
@@chrismears-inslowtime Rushed to hospital with febrile convulsions. Still there, CT scan OK. Lumbar puncture results to come. 3 types of antibiotic drip. ires everywhere.
@@malcolmjames1866 so sorry to hear that mate. I wish you all especially your grand daughter the very best of get well thoughts. My heart goes out to you all.
@@chrismears-inslowtime Thanks, Chris. Allowed home last night. Turns out it was an e-coli kidney infection which caused the high temperature and then the seizures. Still on antibiotic injections, but no wires or or needles any more. She's only 3 months old. But hospital were fantastic. Family much relieved.
Well, Chris..... life / fate (discuss !) has thrown us together . We will have lots of great days and a few which might be challenging it is up to us both make more of the former than the latter. I am looking forward to some great times with you, discussing ourselves, becoming friends, sharing our days , sharing each other's company and sharing the solitude of canal life, but with the knowledge if you have had enough solitude some days, then walk down the cut and knock on the roof of my boat, and invite yourself to share a brew. Great vid once a again, luv'm. It's going to be much fun to see you live and un-edited ■‼️, and then watch the vids of our journey. Smile 😃 See ya soon, ..... Colin. Btw, I thought I would use another youtube id of mine to give you one more subscriber !! He he he 😂
Thanks for the extra sub. You'll be surprised how I live and how much of it is the same as the vid. Agreed, it's a snap shop seen on the channel but it is as it is and I think most people get the gist. Lloyd, despite travelling with me would never really know what would be on the vids so it'll be an interesting concept of how much you want to be involved. See you soon.
Another thoroughly enjoyable video Chris, thanks. After you moored up and that boat came around the bend, you said you were quite lucky. Actually, I thought after the care you took to moor it wasn't luck at all, you were very conscientious in your choice of location. Sorry, you probably know this, but I will say it anyway. If you had a pain in your chest, you would see a Doctor. That's physical health for you. But also, mental health is just as important and can be serious if any odd problems with it go untreated. Just saying is all. Some stunning photos there. Again, thanks for sharing.
Thank you Gordon. I get it and you're of course right. The trouble is, I'm a bloke who rarely goes to the docs. Yearly meds was about all I could do mainly because I'm generally in good health. That said the mind is another matter. Man Up Pills go so far but It's getting outside weather so I'll be fine until December. Have a great week and thanks for caring.
@@chrismears-inslowtime We're much the same. The main thing is try talking about it, I am looking forward to meeting your new traveling companion for the K&A. Americans are ace at matters of therapy 😉😉
You need a project or two. We once discussed a pylon calendar, what happened to that? Something you could sell to UK Power Networks? OK, so you mention "local knowledge". You are gathering your own now, and also using interviews with others, you could start recording chapters for a book on the subject. Yes, there are such things but I don't think they go very deeply into legends and folk law surrounding the canal, as well as in depth details about where to go and what to do from various points along the canals. "Holly' the Café Boat" produced a cookbook last year, which was very successful; if you need it, you might get their advice on how to publish?
Plenty of good advice there Terry. Non of it has gone away. Life has got in the way and also, doing everything on your own is hard. The jobs mount up and I also want to live. The calendar is on the back burner but it is a possibility. Being alone is easy to deal with; Get projects to pass the time. Feeling lonely..... there are deeper issues to face. Thanks for the support but I'm not going to share all my issues with the world. Have a great week.
Hey bud,, U got a few great shots there 👍 Just a thought,, I think u remember my hobby is metal detecting,,, makes me wonder if u might of thought about magnet fishing ? A few of my mates have had some interesting stuff up from the canal under the bridges, just a thought 👍
Lovely video as usual, Chris……..sorry, naughty boy, no helmet, so consider yourself reprimanded, again! None of us want to see you squashed and anyway, there would be no vlogs! It’s great news that you will be having a fellow traveller and that’s probably just what you need. To be lonely or alone are two different things and people don’t always understand. My definition is, is that when one wants to be alone, someone inevitably turns up! Be alone Chris but never lonely.
Thank you Susan. I'll consider myself told off but it's about risk and I'm having to go to Daventry now so that road is a little more dangerous. Hard hat will be on. Lonely and alone....massive difference and I agree, it gets mixed up by many. I can handle being alone.....Thanks for the comment and have a great week.
A bit of Euromillions trivia, coz I am an anorak. Imagine the M25 as a giant roulette wheel with 'one inch' ball slots. The odds of winning the euromillions jackpot would be a roulette wheel 19 times the circumference of the M25. That is approx 2223 miles of one inch slots. Dont hold your breath! Lol.
Cheers Chris. I'm still daft enough to play, you gotta be in it to win it. I just play with a scintilla of expectation. (Maybe that should read SKINTilla. Lol) Loving your lifestyle, very jealous.
Chris I have been advised that you are missing the secret ingredient in you soup. Celery This is advise from my wife who is a pro chef All soup needs celery 😁
Absolutely right Steve. Didn't have any. I didn't think it would be that important....whereas tomatoes would be!! There will be a next time and when I go shopping I'll get some. Thanks for the tip and havre a great week.
Hey Chris I don’t know how you cope with the solitude after being in the mob and jobs in training meeting folk. Just lately you don’t seem to be meeting so many characters as you were. You always seemed to brighten up when met nice folk. We hope your traveling with Colin helps get you back to the Chris we first watched when you were with the gang making your beautiful Boat and going for pies and brewing up for the lads. Good luck for this Summer Chris
I do hope, I can be some good company for Chris he is a such a nice fella. I think early on I am going to offer that I be one of his recruits, so he can impart al l those nuggets of wisdom to me. 😃. Things like " what the duck do you think you are doing ? for ducks sake ■‼️" 😃 . I'm really looking forward to going to the pub and fixing the world's problems with Chris.
Thanks Howard. I agree, I do like being around people and Colins point is very valid. There will be a few of those military terms going out I'm sure. Have a great week.
I had a brief stop at Whedon but needed to move on to get a mooring spot close to where I'm meeting Colin. Those places are generally sort after and needed to be a position to snaffle one when it became available. I'm close to Norton Junction now. Thanks for the support Bob. Have a great week.
Hi Chris loved your photos but your funny face didn’t make me laugh as usual it was a sad face, we are into feb now won’t belong before we are in spring warmer weather and new things happening no doubt chin up keep mucking in ❤
I've been there but not covered the same distance. I now leave the battery bay open if there is no battery inside. Same with the SD card flippy thing. Works well to date except with the point and shoot, I didn't. Thanks for the comment and have a great week.
Gone with the wind :) Your a young bloke.......like still in his fifties if I recall. Lucky man, got a whole life ahead of you. I'm 62 and worked in the film industry for 35 years as a freelance Construction manager and now manage my own portfolio of rental properties. They like me. I miss the madness and comradery of film but i'm over it now. I'd love your kind of life style and as a first world'r like your self and think over all we ain't got a lot to complain about in the grand scheme of things. Do you think you've truly gotten over your time in the Military? Like forgiven your self for what you experienced....... does it unconsciously hang over you? Hey since you are going to hang with a newbie canal mate, why not try some french style slow cooked stews. Throw in a bottle of red and the rest in the morning and let it slowly mature as you cruise and whip up some mash at the end of the day to accompany your debrief with ya mate :) Cheers Chris
Matt, love the idea of Chris cooking some French slow cooked meals, oh yes, come on Chris there's a challenge for you smile 😃. Matt I have a traditional boat with a boatman's cabin with an Eppin wood burning stove/range..... i hope, on our journey to have a casolet or two, or the like, gently cooking on it all day . Mmmmm.
Thanks Matt. Short answer. No, I've not got over the military. I was reminiscing this morning sat waiting for a train to pass over a bridge. It's just like being in an Observation post...... waiting. There are plenty of people with worse things in the world at the moment and I do recognise I am lucky to live in the country I do. The Press currently create a lot of doom and gloom and so do the independents on TH-cam. Nothing is abioyt happiness. I'm sure that has some effect too. Colin will sort of the stew as it appears he has a stove big enough. Good news. Thanks for the comment and have a great week.
No Chris you are definitely suffering with SAD. Next year look at the grass and buds on trees . They are starting to grow as a reaction to the changes that happen and so the body is not disconnected to that also. You are com8ng out of it . Think about it people also went into a sort of hibernation to conserve our energy for Spring. Then we would breed hunt etc. If you did not conserve energy then how would cave man know its time ? Mankind would die out. We have labeled it as SAD. Its just natural. In winter roll up your sleeves for half an hour to get the light on your skin to help a little. Think of yourself as a solar panel that doesn't work too well in winter. Start to accept this fact in your head and you will be okay. I'm not an expert but I think about these things. Best wishes Angi
Some great advise there Angi. Thank you. A little bit of philosophy to add context. I perhaps am a little more neanderthal than some and relish the simple things in life. Have a great week.
Yes Chris I think you are very connected to the outside. It might be good to apply for your DNA It costs less than 60 to send off for it. I did mine about 15 years ago and it told me exactly what I thought. Part Viking part Irish English and a little French and Germanic. The Irish makes me keep moving around The Vikings landed in Ireland. You know if you are a decent of Viking because the tendons shorten in the hands because they would row thousands of miles . Its very interesting to know why you do certain things in your life.
Just a quick FYI - the music between 6:40ish and 7:10ish was so loud (relatively to the rest) that it distorted quite severely and almost "deafened" me. I’ve never had any TH-cam video (from anyone) increase the levels so much as I thought they always normalized the audio. When you used the same piece of music at around 15-16 minutes I turned the volume down again so that the music was at a comfortable level but when the music stopped and you started speaking again I could hardly hear your voice at that level and had to increase the volume again. How much did you win on the lottery btw?
Didn't win a cent. The music issue. Most of the time I get it about right. Sorry if it didn't work for you this time. Thanks for the comment though. Have a great week.
An interesting chat with generic question with answers that I could have given. That said it’s in the public domain and CRT are becoming open to having those discussions on-line. I recognise the complexity of the role CRT face in conducting their job but the stories being told (which denotes the culture) are not favourable in many peoples vocabulary. It could be argued from the CRT perspective they’re doing the best job they can yet I can see quick wins that would go a long way in appeasing the license payers. Actions speak and the type of work the boaters are used to are being scaled back and amenities taken away. I want to point out grass route examples. Get the basics right and improve by 1%. Thanks for the link.
Just have the urge to send you a biiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiigggggggggggg, tight,🫂 looooooong ((((((((hug))))))🤗. Clear to see there is something on your mind.🤔 Love the soup mix up, Looooove soup! 🥣and Looking forward to your meet up next week, (I think it will help with perspective) if next winter, you interject time with meet up's. Much like your first winter was a 'keeping the fire lit' learning curve, this winter has brought it's own challenges. 👋Thinking of you. x
Thank you Angela. I can always use a big hug. Trying to find people to meet up with has been easy. Putting them on film less so. Meet up with Colin might be delayed due to the weather but it'll happen. have a great week and thanks for the support.

Thanks for the support Alan. It could be a good year with a ,not of new experiences. Have a great week.
Chris as always a delightful episode
Many thanks for your efforts
Kind regards
From Tamborine mountain Queensland
Thanks Chris. Enjoy the sun and the week.
Keep smiling you always look better when you smile. 😃
There are a few people saying the same thing....women generally. Bloke tend not to notice. Thank you Gillian. Have a lovely week.
Thank you. I appreciate the support and kindness. The boat is looking great by the way. I hope you're both enjoying it.
Chin up chuck, life on the water, or road in our case can get a little lonely. Also, BRING BACK feed me Fridays. Happy Birthday, Per Ardua to all that served and will
Thanks Adie. I hope all is well in your bus. Have a great week.
Chris you rant on , which is good. We know what you mean, it’s called looking out and caring about others Bob
Thanks mate. I appreciate the support.
Lovely vid and stunning scenery, hang in there, spring is coming.🥰🙋🏼♀️
It's been nice for a few days now. Is it really happening/. Yes I actually think it is. Thanks Jilli. Have a great week.
Another quality vlog Chris, finishing with some stunning still photos. Looking forward to your adventures down the K & A later in the year.
Thanks John. Have a great week.
so i was listening to radio 2 in the car (its been on that channel since my son borrowed the vehicle) and they were saying that if you are actually interested when you ask someone how they are, you follow up the "OK" answer with - but how are you really? hope there's somebody around to say that to you Chris.. and great that you're going to be travelling in convoy for a bit - that should make a difference to the last weeks of winter
What a great point, I will try to remember that. It is I, ...... Colin from Ohio, or more recently Colin from Leicestershire.
I have a few friends who do just that. A fella I served with in the 80s called to make sure I was ok. I didn't think I displayed a man who was in need of support but clearly I was wrong reading all the comments. I know Colin will be a good friend. Thanks for your support. Have a great week.
Chin up Chris if you can. K and A my neck of the woods. Keep updating your current location I'll look you up!
Looking forward to your trip to the K&A with Colin 😊😊👍🏼
Thanks Steve. Are you on the K&A. If so, we must catch up. Have a great week.
@@chrismears-inslowtime no I’m based in Coventry, I did say to Colin that I will try and catch up with you guys in Braunstone for a beer
Feb 2 marks half way point between Xmas and Spring so half way now. . The snowdrops are in bloom. Reasons to be cheerful part 4
I saw some snowdrop two days ago as I was cursing by. Lots of them knocking about. Thanks Julie. Cheering up. Sun has been out for two days on the bounce. Love it. Have a great week.
Great vid. 👍👍 the K&A get yourself on it 😂😂
I'm looking forward to it Peter. I'll bell you soon.
Very enjoyable vlog this week Chris. Thank you.. keep smiling! Last day of January today! Onwards…
Thanks Jo and today is half way to official Spring. I reckon it's nearly here. Have a great week.
Chin up Chris, the broad sunlit uplands always appear, eventually 😊. Still enjoying your vlogs, don’t miss any of them, keep up the good work 😉
Thanks Shaun. I appreciate the support. I hope your well. Have a great week.
Happy January the 87th!
Sold the house! Still on plan. Estimate process yet again pays dividends. 👌. Chins up Gaylord! X
Have a great week.
hi dad
i have been watching your videos a lot ever since you said to me about it, i also got a TH-cam account to myself since august :D
Nice one. I just enjoyed.
Thanks Russell.
Days are starting to lengthen out and the time of mud will soon be behind us !
And I can't wait. It's the mud I think that's the worst bit. Thanks Rob. Have a great week.
Hi Chris if your still coming to the K&A canal do not Moore before or after the airsprung bridge your much better going further up and mooring just next to hilperton marina as it's to shallow around the airsprung bridge
I'll make a note of that. Thanks Nathan. Have a great week.
Thank you.
You're one of the few that saw through the initial thoughts. Thanks mate. Have a great week.
Good vlog, again, Chris. Thank you. can't stop. Stuff happening with baby granddaughter.
Granddad stuff. Always a lovely time and so much easier than parenting. Thank you Malcolm. Enjoy your time with the little one.
Since retirement every day is a challenge. Hang in there! There is no excuse and there’s nothing but excuses..
I get it and largely agree. Have a great week.
Smile 😃
See ya soon, .....
Good episode, nothing wrong with a good old moan essential pastime. 😊 Chris in Devon.
Thanks Chris. Sharing it with c.5.5k always helps. Have a great week and thanks for the support.
Hey bud,,
U got a few great shots there 👍
Just a thought,, I think u remember my hobby is metal detecting,,, makes me wonder if u might of thought about magnet fishing ? A few of my mates have had some interesting stuff up from the canal under the bridges, just a thought
👍
Thanks Rich. Just need a magnet. It's on my to do list which gets longer by the week. Happy hunting.
I don't think you moan you just say it as it is and ots good to share feelings sometimes, i reckon you jelp a lot of people out there 👍

Great photos Chris, love the one of pylons
Pylons I think are under rated. Thanks Peter. Have a great week.
Self love is very important ..
Thanks Lynn. Not a quality I do enough of. Have a great week.
Lol.
Thanks for that info and I won't bother next time. I'll save my pennies. It would have been nice though. Have a great week
Cheers Chris. I'm still daft enough to play, you gotta be in it to win it. I just play with a scintilla of expectation. (Maybe that should read SKINTilla. Lol) Loving your lifestyle, very jealous.
It’s late here in Ohio. I’ll watch tomorrow. I just wanted to be the first to like and comment! 😊
Thank you and it's always good to be the first. Have a great week.
Chris
I have been advised that you are missing the secret ingredient in you soup.
Celery
This is advise from my wife who is a pro chef
All soup needs celery 😁

At least you didnt get up 6am travel for 90 mins to shoot some red kites & find out you left ya cards at home. Mistake i will never make again
I've been there but not covered the same distance. I now leave the battery bay open if there is no battery inside. Same with the SD card flippy thing. Works well to date except with the point and shoot, I didn't. Thanks for the comment and have a great week.
Gone with the wind :)
Your a young bloke.......like still in his fifties if I recall.
Throw in a bottle of red and the rest in the morning and let it slowly mature as you cruise and whip up some mash at the end of the day to accompany your debrief with ya mate :)
Cheers Chris
Chris, I’m just curious…..what rank did you retire as
?
I was a Warrant Officer for my last 10 years. Loved it on Squadrons doing Ops but less so doing mundane office style jobs.
Nope, I've known a few miseries and you're not one!
Thanks Ed.
