From my experience, many people spend not enough time with their horses..on the ground. Before I ride a horse I never saw before, I clean it's stable and talk to it. I walk it outside, clean the hooves and comb it while talking, listening and watching. Then put the saddle on and til this day, I never had an issue with a horse which I did not cause myself..or pre owners, lol

Or how many just spend time with horses in pasture, just being there. In one pasture, some of them had eaten side out round bale , making like a chair. I sat down, sunny, light breeze, horses all grazing and dozing around, some even lying down to sleep. A perfect day and the horses would come up or go as they pleased, for hay or company. A day to always remember

I learned from Monty Roberts and this great teacher that you don’t break the horses spirit, you gain trust, set boundaries and form a mutual respect. Whipping a horse only creates a problem. My horses never feared me, they would show love and affection but more so they wanted to play and share their life with us. Many horses are broken spirits looking for a leader that will help them on their journey. They’re loyal and protective if you’re the same to them.

One of my rescue horses was a pack horse in Montana and the way they “trained” her was to break her spirit and she was badly abused and still years later she has saddle sore marks on her back and wounds on her legs but she’s happy now and has proper training and is loved and I’d never force her to do something that she doesn’t want to do because I respect her and she respects me.

I’ve always said; the more I know people, the more I love my horse. People have got to understand the horse is smarter than you think, they just speak a different language, & it’s up to the humans to learn their language and at the same time, the horse will learn yours. It’s all about communication, patience trust, and love. Once you’ve earned their trust the love of the horse will always follow. This is the true path of partnership. 👵🏻

After re-watching this, (and still being absolutely in appreciation of this man's gift and talent), I realized something I missed. The comment about no problem horses, and all - this good man is actually fixing the people and their fears of their horses. If you look at it, he is "fixing the horse" - because he is understanding the horse, and acting with the horse. As the horse owners watch, they get to see the horse acting as they would want it to. I think watching the gentleman work with the horses, and the positive interaction, allows the horse owners to recognize the success, that it can be done, and gives them the confidence, and knowledge to do the same. Kudos to Ali Al Ameri - not just a horsemaster, but more - a "horse owner" master.

Imran M No, but im not trying to design a horse, im trying to understand how they communicate. when i look at a plane i can see the lights blinking and the wheels rolling on the airfield.
when i see a horse i seem them act and react, the same patterns over and over again. with a bit of background knowledge you can understand how a higher ranked horse treats a lower one and you can imitate them to communicate.
      no, i dont build planes.

After many many years working in the horse racing industry as a rider and the breeding farms within that industry as a pre & post natal carer, I've seen a lot of human made mistakes in horses.
No horse is born bad, they grow as a result of their handling. From new born, I've always shown those babies and their mothers dominant respect and those mothers trusted me with their brand new foals and their first hand introduction to humans.

On races in my hometown in Croatia I've noticed an older man who was winning in every race he participated. I don't know a thing about trotters, harnessed trotting horses, but I started to watch that man. He drove them like a wizard, really.
I was interested and I decided to come on hipodrom and find his secret.
I came next afternoon, saw him with horses, watched for some time - nothing special.
I came next morning, he was there with horses.
In late evening - he was with horses. At the dawn too. At noon. At holiday. He was with horses 18 hours daily, every day.
    THAT was a Secret.

The horse is never the problem, the rider/human is. This guy knows what he is doing, while all those other people can't figure out that he is using pressure and release, the golden rule of horses, use pressure and release to train your horse, bound with it, get respect, understand and control the horses feet. It is NOT magic, it is a combination of body language and understanding what the horse is telling you. The best teacher is the horse, so learn from the horse.

Love the video. This man is incredible. I trained my horse in the same way. I was with him since he was born. I was his friend before I started to train him. He was the best horse ever. And I miss him terribly. And every day.

i don't ride horses or know anything about them but have met and shared beautiful experiences of connection with them, I once rescued and herd that had ben left tethered to a bush in the mountains of Mexico, they had become so entangled round the bush they could no-longer move, they were stuck head down, entangled together. I went in and slowly weaved them through each other, over and under and round and round, they allowed me to do so, just me and these 5 beautiful creatures in the baking sun, working together quietly and calmly. I was amazed myself at what was happening. After I had untangled them and freed them from this discomfort. I later returned with some friends to show them the horses, one friend went nearer and the horse reared up like a wild beast, no-one dared go closer they were so wild. I didn't try either, just felt blessed to have had the experience. I always have this experience with wild animals, I can do healing work with them and recognise when they are healing me. I would like to learn to learn more about horses and I would like to develop my connection and relationship with them, im not really interested in riding them, it's the relationship and healing that moves me. Looking for clues as to how and where I can do this...!

Horse whisperer.... just as there are no bad dogs, only ignorant owners, same applies to horses; both can pick up on our emotional states, and respond accordingly

    • @Zamigirl
      @Zamigirl 7 ปีที่แล้ว +19

Animals can pick up on good people and bad. They know who fears them and who do not. I was terrified of dogs as a child and adult since I was attacked by them Their owners had no control over them. Eventually a half german she puppy sat by me in my time of sadness. She became my savior. In 20 years I have taken 10 dogs off the streets and given them a forever home. I trust animals more than people.

VL, I read the book Horse Whisperer, went to a problem horse and did it. It was so easy my 10 yr daughter did it straight away too He was trotting free behind her while she skipped around over a large cavaletti cross. The horse was a flighty standard bred. Amazing, beautiful and awesome to be part of the herd!

Who said he's a "horse whisperer"??? Just the OPPOSITE! He said "YOU MUST BE DOMINANT". Somehow no one is seeing his training rope - and there's a reason they don't show him training with it....THAT ROPE CHOKES OUT THE HORSE WHEN IT ACTS OUT - and they learn QUICKLY not to pull or they CHOKE THEMSELVES OUT. Native Americans did this as well

Not a horse owner nor do i claim to know much about horses or have in-depth knowledge about any specific animal but what i believe that translates to any creature is to observe, be patient, open minded and learn to read and respond to their signals. Horses, dogs, cats... people that claim to have "problem" animals 9 out of 10 times just aren't willing or capable of reading their animals because they don't put in the time. Granted medical conditions can cause a problem but i would like to believe someone who is passionate will notice if their animal is in pain. Not be able to diagnose it obviously but for sure notice something is amiss.

You’re so right. I have a cat that was semi feral most people would of had him put to sleep. I was very patient and observed his behaviour. He wouldn’t come anywhere near me at first. Now he trusts me and shows some affection when I’m lay down. He’s the boss though, I don’t think I’ll ever change that
