Thanks for taking the time to make this video and share this information. The vast array of analytics platforms, OMSs, EMSs, data feeds and data options can be mind-numbing to navigate to get what one actually really needs
Thank you Kevin for taking the time to watch and leave a comment. No doubt there’s a ton of options out there.
Thank you for the great content you are making available for free. It is very clear, precise and easy to understand. I am looking forward for each new video you upload in the future, and I hope you get all the subscribers you deserve. This channel is a hidden treasure waiting to be discovered.
Thanks a ton for the kind words! It’s special when someone goes out of there way to compliment a stranger. I have a lot of knowledge to share! Stay tuned!
Me too everything explained simple to the point!
Thanks you!
Amzing, ive been chasing candlesticks with smalls lots for months wondering what im doing and surely theres more than this to trading cause making 1-2 dollars overs a few hours is surely not why im putting so much time into learning this and look what pops up... amazing..ill be watching all your vids..and im looking forward to the training your planning cause im getting no where doing what im doing on my phone on trading view watching account go up one down one .. or up one down 10..often.. thanks for posting all this much needed knowledge ..
Thank you for the kind words, greatly appreciated! You're probably going to have a difficult time trading from your phone. I also would hold off trading on a live account until you've proven you can do it on a SIM account.
Thank you for the informative video Sir.
Thanks for watching and the comment!
At last clarity thank you very much 👌👌
Welcome 😊! Thanks for the comment!
Thanks for the important info!
You bet!
Thanks a lot...great help
I agree with your advice to trade simulated first. I am having a tough time picking a platform because most things are set up to go live. I have been leaning towards motivewave, and I have looked at Sierra charts. If you have any advice, I prefer to become very knowledgeable in one platform instead of bouncing around. I also looked at Interactive brokers trader workstation but it is unclear if it has tpo/vol profile and footprint. Please advise if you get a chance. I really look forward to your content. Thank you for sharing with us.
Ur helpful thanks please do more videos ❤❤
Thank you! Will do!
Great info in this video thank you!
What data feed would you recommend for just doing backtesting/data analysis on futures tick data? Is there any that provides historical futures tick data in a downloadable format like csv for cheap?
Thanks again for this knowlodgeable video!
Thank you! I use dxFeed. I’m not sure about downloadable format. I’m sure it’s out there somewhere.
I had no idea that I could get additional data other them whats available through CME. The biggest change was connectivity and the addition of direct fiber with an ethernet connection and droping the wifi.
Thank you
Thx, that's prof info
You're welcome!
Hey Adam,
Thank you for the videos produced across the board. A lot of valuable content.
I wanted to ask one quick question. If the primary use for a data feed would be to use the information for market profiles, volume profiles, different variations of footprint charts, and delta / cumulative delta indicators for U.S. equities and indices on an intraday basis as well as historical / HTF analysis solely for charting purposes only.
Which option would you say is the route to go? The consolidated tape U.S. equities level 1, the NASDAQ Totalview, or a combination of both?
Thank you for the kind words! If you don't plan on using a Level II you will be fine with level 1.
I think this video is extremely helpful, I trade forex now and was just starting to scratch the surface with futures but was hung up on what data feed I should be using. And I really couldn’t find a clear answer. I think I will stick with DX feed . Maybe once I get further into to orderflow I will consider Rythmic data again, thanks
You're welcome. Thanks for the comment!
...from time to time I am going through trading YT channels and what amazes me the most is amount of sheer bullshit they hitting you with...and that's ok...
...you Adam are one of the best if not the best I stumbled upon...
...bravo...
...
...also Adam LINNSOFT (Investor/RT) is my preference...
Thank you for taking the time out of your day to leave the kind words! It truly means a lot.
What do you like most about Investor/RT? I am very much a Market Profile/Volume Profile enthusiast. How is it for that? Thank you @@btradingwarehouse3861
good video! Do you have any videos on how to connect an Apex account to Motivewave on Mac? It's not entirely clear to me how to do it with rithmic.
Awesome content. I want to complete this course. Does anyone know where to get it. I can’t find it on this channel. Thanks..
Unfortunately I still have to make it!
what data package do you use for executions on IB? Im planning on using dxfeed or iqfeed for data only
You would get your execution feed directly through IB, there is only one option. In the meantime you can just get your charting software setup and a data feed to start sim trading.
Great content and thanks for not charging for good information. Most youtubers only create videos to lead people to something else that cost them more money.
If i was successful, i would give free information also. God blesses those that bless others. God Bless you ❤
i just came across your channel and its very informative and timely, i have signed up with ninja trader and want to trade futures but im not sure what else i need to subscribe on as far as data feed and which order flow software is best to use with ninja trader , any thoughts ? i would really appreciate it.
Unfortunately I've never trade with NT, only demoed their platform. Best option is going to be to reach out to them directly.
what data feed do i use if i want to acsess footprint charts and volume profile? i want to use atas at my charting software
Personally I use dxfeed. It depends on what markets you are going to trade. You will be fine with top of book.
Thank you for this very informative video. I am wondering if its possible to hook up IBKR with CQG or Rithmic to connect & execute that way via Motivewave ?
Yes you can using the API
This information is golden. What about Denali feed ? Can you give some information on that ?
@@JumpstartTrading I joined a really big training group that trades live. Really good experts on the DOM and market profiles. Has everything in the training. That only thing it’s missing is some of the basic stuff like what you just mentioned on this video. Other things like why use certain tics configuration, slippage on the MES, lots of little things. I did see your training but had already jumped on the other group for futures training. But do like to learn that basic stuff behind making all the decisions of why I am setting up charts a certain way.
I apologize... I switched my YT channel to a brand channel. Unfortunately, I lost all my replies on my videos as a result. It was a great question so I wanted to reply again.
Denali is Sierra's Charts data feed. You actually pay them directly through their site if you purchase their charting software. It's a quote feed only. You can read all about it here: www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/DenaliExchangeDataFeed.php#Pricing
SC is a great platform. I used them for close to a decade before moving to MotiveWave.
Which big training group did you join? Axia?@@alexcordova1268
Hi james i want to trade with market data feeds still not clear how to take decision with market data feeds can u explain
so if I use Ninjatrader for charting can I get just Level 1 top of the book feed live CME data for emini's from these providers without a broking account?
Yes, but you will have to check what data feeds they support. Looks like they support IQ feed.
GREAT CONTENT! I'm a newbie, and am currently using Tradovate as my trading platform.
The charting is undesirable and I wish to add a real charting platdorm. How do i go about doing this, do i (1) pay a subscription, (2) buy data? How then do i marry the trading platform with the new chart platform. What would you recommend? Or, should i use another platform to make trades and chart with. Thanks for your time! George
Hi George, thanks for the comment. I'm not familiar with Tradovate but you can use any charting platform you wish and simply buy a data feed. You will have to check what charting software integrates with Tradovate if you want to execute through your charts. Otherwise you can keep your execution platform (Tradovate) and your charts separate. That's how I've always done it. I trade through Interactive Brokers and simply use dxFeed to populate my charts (MotiveWave).
Thank You for the reply!!! I do not have a mentor, and most of the time I'm not sure how to proceed!! Again thanks!
You're very welcome!@@georgebuchholz2755

If you are an algo trader I get that your feed really matters. However if you trade on discretion, but still look at something like a footprint chart, would there be a major difference between MPO and some aggregated that up dates 4 times a second?
If your reaction time isn’t a factor in your trade success, does the data feed make a noticeable difference?
Thanks for the comment Trevor. The problem you will run into with an aggregated feed if you're using a data intensive chart like a footprint is your charts will tend lag and sometimes simply not load. You can test it and if it's working fine then I wouldn't worry about it. Using IB's data feed I can't even get my charts to load some times. Thus, I use dxFeed to populate my charts.
@@JumpstartTrading thanks. We are going to sound like we get a kick back from dx feed or something. But 3 weeks of testing and IB definitely lags.
I appreciate the response!
you dont get enough credit for this video.
@anyfoolcanknow Well I appreciate your credit! :) Thanks for watching and the comment.
What type of feed does ninjatrader 8 provide
What level data do you need for renko bars?
Same as linear bars, top of book is fine.
So If I use CQG or Rithmic will I only get futures data feed to my sierra chart link? I want to trade individual stocks and options so that would be an issue for me. Anyone know the answer for this?
Hi Mike, CQG and Rithmic are execution feeds just for futures. If you want to trade stocks and options you can try the data feed from your broker. If that doesn't work (slow and lags) you can get a data only feed for stocks from DxFeed. I trade at Interactive Brokers, but I populate my charts with DxFeed data. As a result I can't trade directly from my charts but it's not something I've ever done anyways. I simply execute my trades on IB's platform. Thanks for the comment and watching!
@@JumpstartTrading Does the Nasdaq Total view option on Sierra chart provide the live data feed I need for individual tech stocks like amazon and tesla. Also do you know if Sierra chart will connect with the DxFeed data if I go that route? Thank you for the prompt answer! I do appreciate it.
@@5000MikeMaster Yes, that should cover you for any Nasdaq listed stocks. It doesn't look like they support DxFeed. www.sierrachart.com/SupportBoard.php?PostID=204785
However, that post is old. I would send them an email and ask. I haven't been on Sierra in probably 3 years. MotiveWave is the platform I use.
@@JumpstartTrading you use SC for 10 years, I'm very curious about your reasons for switching to MotiveWave, are there any advantages unique in MotiveWave compared with SC?
Sierra is a great platform and at times I missed it. The only real difference is the GUI. Sierra is a little dated but it's also the one of the lightest and fastest platform I ever traded on.
I've always been a Mac guy and got tired of using Parallels to run Sierra. Yes I could have used bootcamp but that kind of defeats the purpose. I had a student who started using MW about 4 years ago so I purchased it and played with for 6 months before I finally made the switch.
Again, Sierra is a great platform in my opinion.
Very helpful thanks, I have motivewave and use it to connect to both my TDA and IBKR accounts. I recently upgraded my MW subscription to the order flow edition as I am looking more and more into the order flow analysis to help me find my edge. When I try to access the order flow indicators on MW I get basically nothing. I assume I am using the data feeds provided by the respective brokerage I am connected to. After watching this it appears I also need to subscribe to additional data feeds as shown in this video, do I have that correct? If so, do I need both an execution and a quote feed to properly access the tools on MW? Thanks for your time and help.
Hi John, you already have the execution feed with TDA or IB, as that's where your trades get routed through. Both companies feeds are currently aggregated, so I'm guessing it lags a ton. Personally I don't even have IB connected to MW. I use DxFeed (quote feed) to populate my charts and trade directly through IB's DOM. Thanks for the comment!
Yes, lots of lag. This makes a lot of sense, use the quote feed for the charting and trade directly from IB. Thanks@@JumpstartTrading
Of course! Thanks for watching.
@@JumpstartTrading That is interesting. Don't you loose too much time when executing the order on the IB screen instead of a clicking within your charting software?
Currently I trade using cqg and the broker that I registered only got cqg platform , how can I switch from cqg to iq feed platform?
IQ feed isn't an execution feed like CQG, it's simply a quote feed. They provide data for your charting software. What software are you using to trade?
I use Motivewave with dxFeed, but I actually execute my orders through Interactive Brokers.
IB has such high futures margins though. No day margins at all.@@JumpstartTrading
You're correct. Yet the leverage offered at most brokerages is absurd and a reason why a lot of retail traders fail.
@@JumpstartTrading I agree on that point. But IB is simply no longer futures trading friendly. For securities - fantastic. But their futures margins are 2-3x exchange SPAN. Completely uncompetitive with every major FCM. No matter how well capitalised you are, retail or institutional, it’s a waste of resources that could otherwise be deployed, esp in this high yield environment. It’s one of two issues I have with IB and why I use other FCMs.
@@kevinlaffey9310 Agree with you, i would like to swich from IB to other FCMs, too high intraday margins in IB
rithmic and CQG has execution feed which includes route orders and quotes. But if you're only using DX feed or IQ feed, that's only quotes... In that case, will the route orders be processed in interactive broker? If so, is it free? and is the route orders as fast as rithmic or CQG? Also, if rithmic and CQG price is lower than DX feed or IQ feed. Can you use them on interactive broker?
DX and IQ are nothing more than quote feeds for your charts. IB has it's own execution feed you would use to execute orders. It's included in your commission costs.
No, CQG and Rithmic are not offered by IB.
@@JumpstartTrading thanks for the answer!
Of course!
@@JumpstartTrading do you have any opinion on amp futures?
I've had students use AMP with no problems.
CME Group charges $50000 per month for it's top of the line data feed. I wonder if the subscribers be able to see stop-loss orders too? I love you content ❤
Thank you! No they can't see your stop. I have no idea what you were looking at that costs 50k, I'm guessing it's a package to license their data.
Hi sir, what data feed would be better for fx and gold
I really like dxFeed. Good pricing, reliable data, and there setup is easy with most platforms.
@@JumpstartTrading is it reliable and accurate for fx. I mean the order flow data that they provide?
I haven't traded FX in over a decade and when I did I was trading an algorithm that arbitraged an opportunity that existed at all the bucket-shops popping up online. Personally if I was going to trade FX, I would contact my broker and ask them where their data is coming from and then do some testing and look for any large variances with something like dxFeed.
@@JumpstartTrading I've heard cme is reputed in providing currencies data,,will it be good?
If you're trading futures the data would be solid as it's a centralized exchange versus Forex. Again, I'm not sure you will find any huge discrepancies. I just wanted to warn you of it because truthfully I'm not sure.
why is there no volume profile on ibrk pro ?
Their data feed wouldn’t support it. They use aggregated data feed.
thanks i have ib and using m1 mac need to focus on another platform for charting thanks for the valuable info
Motivewave with Dxfeed is what I use.
@@JumpstartTrading thank you that be perfect for the m1
@@JumpstartTrading Is Atas platform any good ?
What type of data feed does Market makers use? And can they see our stop-loss orders?
If you're trading the U.S. markets, no they can't see your stop. Would be illegal. I'm sure there's some unregulated markets where some shady stuff occurs.
rithmic is the best but it has so many problems
What kind of problems?
CQG provides more than 10 levels now
Thank you for the info!
I’ve been a trader ( equities , options then crypto and now futures ) since 1996 . Never seen such an honest content on TH-cam. Respect .
