It depends on the restaurant, but it's actually quite possible that the waitress had no idea about the hostess' scheduling requirements for that table. And *it entirely is the customer's job* if the hostess has told them they need to be out by a certain time to try to abide by that and try not to overstay their time by ordering dessert if they don't have time, etc. That is not for the server to enforce, because _unless the customers are assholes, it shouldn't have to be._
(And some restaurants do have certain desserts that can take longer than 15 minutes to be made and eaten, so it is potentially a valid concern when deciding.)
So not only is she NTA, she was actually *being considerate and helpful* to inform the waitress of the constraint that they were under. It makes it more likely that the whole restaurant will be able to function better, and serve their other customers better.
The husband is completely TA in this situation. Regardless of whether she should have said it or not (she should have), his response was still completely inappropriate anyway, particularly in such a public setting. This is a huge red flag, IMHO, and potentially borders on abusive behavior.

Didn't know i could sort reddit posts by controversial. Hard to believe people thought OP was the ahole or sucked. It's like getting mad at the student who asked the teacher if he could turn in his homework.
