    That reflection - between these two verses are so awesome.
    First verse has phenomenal isolated mix and more atmospheric grip. Slow burn.
    Second verse has dynamic drums pace and killing double-bass, with more intense vocal delivery. This song writing on this album is just nuts. Nothing predictable, only unique and twisted.
    Also these lyrics; "The conflict is an illusion
    Just  get as close to the reflection
    Eyes into the fractured glass
    The bounce back, the cross over" there is just an illusion of conflict, but i want to get the reflection from others. For example, that reflection, when i am talking with someone about something important, i want feedback from people. There is that fractured glass from "conflict", but also bounce back and cross over from people around me, with their feedback.
    "Break  bread with the ally adversary
    Backwards and forwards, blinded by the shadows below
    All of you and everything and it's never ending
    It never started anyway" - i think, that ally adversary is me. I think, that its time for find a connection between me and myself. I need to be my own ally even if things, wont go well. There are these shadows bellow and all of us and everything is blinded cause of it. And it will never end, cause progression never started. I need to feel the bad, to have a reason, to feel better.
    "Truth will be the first prey amid the raid
    And you'll see the smoke before you feel the flames"
    - Truth is everything, but also everyone is afraid of it. Everyone has their own view for everything, but when you will say truth, it become a prey. But everything will be okay - before there will be any pain, it will be done, so there is no need to be afraid of anything.
    This is my interpretation of this track. Even uplifting song can have still unique and abstract lyrics. I love it!

      This song reminds me of my sons mother... she took my son and is nothing but a spiteful liar, 2 faced, smiling assasin.... its cost me 8 years of my life and 100’s of thousands of dollars in court costs to see my son.... for nothing.... to me, this describes my interaction with her... ”truth ends long before the roots are pulled”... ”break bread with the ally/adversary” all clearly put me in an angry place.. in a good way though..
      Its great how well written lyrics can speak to a vast amount of people on so many different levels

    • @jackcravford8744
      @jackcravford8744 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@LJTEAM0723 that is true.
      for me, /with errors is about our inner battles with fears and i can go on. nothing will be without errors, but also we have to be ally/adversary with our own skin.

    • @44JohnDoe
      @44JohnDoe 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Well, my opinion is because they have raised top level just now, by this album. I checked it after someone recommended "All Hail" to me. Which is absolutely amazing album. I briefly listened to previous ones and there was nothing close to this recent stuff. The band grown just now. Musically. If that will reflect on their audience number? Should be. I wish

    • @brandbird
      @brandbird 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@44JohnDoe the new album is very good, but a couple of their earlier albums are some of the best LP's ever made. For me personally, Meridional is easily one of the best albums ever by anyone, and I rank Redeemer and Wrongdoers very high as well. They have no bad albums, hence "all hail the almighty Norma Jean".

    • @jackcravford8744
      @jackcravford8744 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@brandbird they have no bad records, but meridional is worst for me, cause mix and boxed production. redeemer and all hail are top notch records, WITH INSANE sound architecture. Polar Similar has amazing cold atmosphere, when Wrongdoers sounds like some kind of oldschool, hardcore, demo record. Anti Mother is amazing throwback to unleashed post-hardcore edge. But all records are amazing and if i have to talk about them in details, i can make a book about it, lmao. Each record is top notch.

    • @brandbird
      @brandbird 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@jackcravford8744 I don't care that much about production, as long as it's decent enough. I'm more into songwriting & musicianship, and that's where Meridional shines in my opinion. But since you mentioned mixing, I find that O God and Bless the Martyr sound way worse than Meridional, soundwise. They are both still amazing records, though.

    • @jackcravford8744
      @jackcravford8744 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@brandbird Speaking about song writing, Meridional - i agree, that it has strong song writing - All Hail is the best Norma Jean record to this day, cause it has MONUMENTAL song writing. Meridional, if you will dig deeper, has still same structure - repeated choruses and verses, when All Hail is over the whole place. Just look how multi-dimensional sounds Translational, that song has so much going on.
      O God sounds terrible. That album did not aged well. Cory sounds like vacuum cleaner with all that distortion (he is my favorite vocalist by the way) and high ends of that album, sounds painful in all earphones. Drums are weak as fuck, which is shame, cause Daniel is doing phenomenal work there. Bass is also missing in lot of cases. Bless Martyr is better with drum sound, but i just can't enjoy that album, cause it does not have anything interesting for my ears - and i am fan of Chariot, 68' or Josh overall.
      Norma Jean found their sound with Ross Robinson on Redeemer with that sludge/post-metal/hardcore edge - it sounds really chaotic and dirty, grossy that album. Anti Mother was album with all of their influences (same with guests), influences i mean - with overall genre approach and song writing. Meridional was the first "art"-like record with true sludge/post metal atmosphere. Wrongoders was most of the time oldschool, hardcore punk record with demo vocals and sludge grip. Polar Similar and All Hail have all those influences, genres and etc, together and it is their peak if that make sense.

      The most difficult has to be lyrics, cause we know, that Cory has his own believes. But to manage write lyrics, that are abstract, non-linear and open up for everyone, is the most hardest shit for frontman. You need to get out from your own ideas and believes, to make something like that. This is the reason, why he is my favorite frontman.

      To me it seems like first verse is about someone, that is diving into the abyss. Second verse is much more stronger, where the character of the song, is making his way to the goal.
      The song is to me circling around the philosophy, that "cross over/bounce back" can reflecting the feedback we can get from everything around us - and the cross over is important - to be able to get from our own comfort zone and cross over what is scaring us so much.
      The chorus is inspirational take on how people should act. Don´t be harsh on anyone, break bread with your ally/adversary. Lot of people are blinded by shadows from below, that are keeping us "grounded" and glued to them - all of them and everything.
      The middle section about truth - the truth can be tricky and you will challenge people with the truth. Don´t be the enemy of the speech like others, make people around you feel better, when they are interacting with you. Be here for yourself also.

    Break bread with the ally/adversary, Story: I went to Bible College, imo not a good idea, at least for me. But the same story that Jessie Smith has about him going to the Bible College he went to, just I didn't get called, at least verbally a gay person cause I had piercings. But all in all, same kinda thing. So just in case any of you are like, well, I don't know, Trust. Don't!

      you are the ally adversary, my friend. You need to break bread with you and with all enemies around you. But everyone and everything is blinded by that shadow bellow. It will never start, this progress, cause all negative things won't end.

      Secret EyeSpot if Christ gave you the gift of salvation, did you just give it back? Just curious from your ‘not a Christian anymore’ statement. I’ve been there, I get it.

      @@TH-campsyops i didnt just give it back, i woke up from the dream that it was ever real in the first place, and discovered the human agency and intellect behind it.
      I dont think you've ever "been there," why? Because one who has, would never call salvation a "gift." The monomyth cycle that has been hijacked, the hierarchy of self transcendence and actualization thats been hijacked..for some charismatics brand of "God and Christ" is such a waste of good intellect and emotion. Life is so much bigger and better!
