Looks very much like the game Akane by Ludic Studios. That game rocked but was so small. This looks like it scratches the same itch and is a very cool looking style. Excited to give it a shot. Any chance it'll be coming to switch?
This makes me think Blood and Duke Nukem (or yes, even Shadow Warrior) could work as an indie top-down shooter. Quite well actually. Anything, just give me more of them!

the wave survival is cool bu honestly i wish there was more meat around it. a story, a map, a world, etc. not just a box and enemies

Akane meets Colt Canyon. Nice. Imho would be better if the bodies, blood and bullet casings didn't fade away. The arena would get nice and messy!
