You're one of the few guitarists that literally stands out from the rest. You're up there with the greats. Guhtrie, Shawn, Vai and now Mateo Mancusso. I''d love it for you to put out some more content/albums. You''ll make a huge change in guitar. Been following you since many years. Your musicality/note choice is unmatched. You create the sickest progressions. Hope you put yourself out there some more man. I feel that you'd get big.
Every ten years or so the next generation of guitarists takes what the last one did to levels beyond what anyone thinks is possible on the instrument. Stephen is just ahead of that curve
and lets rewatch that for the 45th time ! I feel like people always talk about your technique - which is amazing ! but your note choice is just.... *chefs kiss
Actual guitar genius its crazy how underrated you are bro like nobody in that contest can hang bro. Too clean too fast and your able to still have groove and melody at that speed is just insane. Peak guitar playing eveytime
Bro is it sinful of me to listen to this on repeat for hours and hours? I’ve been stuck on Aporia and Throne of the Anxious for weeks now. Love your stuff man 🤘
i first discovered you because of your solo on Helix Nebula's Sailing Stone. that was almost 10 years ago and somehow since then you've become even more of an alien
I think you're probably aware but Stephen's on guitar for that whole album, along w/ Jake Howsam Lowe who also has solo stuff & plays with Plini. Simon Grove was on bass and also plays with Plini. Something in the water in Australia I guess lol
@@TheWolverine7 I am aware, it's just the solo on Sailing Stone is such an outlier I had to mention it specifically. So many modern metal songs have cool riffs and harmonies but lackluster melodies and that solo in particular kills in all departments. It segues perfectly into the harmonized melody for the fade out, makes it sound like it's going to sail on forever. I think it's perfect really
@@TheWolverine7 Australia has so many great modern metal bands, these guys you mentioned, Caligula's Horse, Chaos Divine off the top of my head are all monstrous
@@cfaibah oh for sure man it's easily one of my favorite solos ever. the tap bends in the intro are just nuts, one of the coolest and most creative things I've heard on guitar. and that's just the intro. no other player on earth is writing a solo like that.
I've been following you for years, from that Plini solo till now you still just are scary to watch. your technique is simply not something I can ever quantify.

💯 for real, most underrated guitarist!
Facts!!!
PERMANENCE II 👽🖖🏼🐐
Lol take it easy dude - he is posting some yt videos from his bedroom, his not on the same level as vai. Take a chill pill
@KoMar551 He's technically far superior to Vai, and frankly I enjoy his music more.

Just doing whatever tf you want. I'm here for it

Mind blowing as usual! 10/10 would watch again
Your note choices on this are insane as always! A huge inspiration for me.
This is great!
Pulling out harmonic textures like paints for a brush, you love to hear it
My Favorite from this year's shred collab 🔥
Scarily good 👍

i'v see that fest from the beginning, glad to see you been part of it, amazing guitar player, and sick guitar composing
Fucking outrageous as usual. Merry Christmas man!
That intro is fucking awesome!
Good lord. That was insanely good. I love your sense of melody and note choice.
Winner!
My Mom bought me a guitar for Christmas, Just threw it off the balcony

🤯
So much happened in a twinkling of an eye 😳
Jesus !
🔥🔥🔥
When's the next album coming out??? Permanence was masterful!
You are insane, Stephen! What pick are you using if you don't mind me asking?
top. tier.
The most vicious right hand in the game 😮
Not many people know the subtlety of this solo,You are the real The Helix Nebula
In addition, in this cooperation, you gave others a dimensionality reduction blow
😮
I’ve decided to learn guitar!
Watches video.
I’ve decided to learn carpentry!
I can't even begin to comprehend or fathom what is going on
You should really make a masterclass, with a shit ton of ideas for licks and explaining the ins and outs of what you’re doing.
If you do it I’ll buy it right away
Does that guitar have a long scale length?
25.5" Scale length, so pretty standard :)
@@StephenTaranto ok I couldn’t tell. It looked like a 27 inch scale maybe haha.
unreal
Stephen you know its not really fair when you submit an entry, you should have at least been blindfolded.
Yeah that s disrespectful for others😂
Yoooo extra wild vid! love it. Im curious, why do you use the Line 6 UX2? Is there a specific reason? Do you really like Podfarm?
Tabs😂??
Jesus! So you aren’t giving anyone even a fighting chance ?
If this doesn't make it on the collab then Jared Dines is officially musically incompetent lmao
The collab is out and yes i'm in it!
Buddy of mine just spent an afternoon trying to prove his suspicion that you're speeding up your videos. 😂
Hell yeah. Was he successful ??
It sounds like it's so far cramped up in the middle, far away from the mix. Widen that shit and thicken it up in the stereo field dude.
Salute o/

Veey forgetful
This is boring man
