- Welcome to my EQ2 Relaxation Spa.
You're going to find a set of calming relaxation videos on this channel. Even though the game is two decades old, EQ2 has some of the most beautiful virtual mmo worlds out there: The lore, music, zones, dungeons, wildlife - you name it. Some of the places in Everquest actually have ASMR and dare I say "shamanic healing" properties that might help with stress related health issues, such as anxiety or sleeplessness.

Nothing like a quiet and peaceful walk through Greater Faydark while melting metal and pounding rivets. Thank you for the upload!!!
I just came back to the game after so many years and created a new character and brought him to Greater Faydark. This area is so peaceful and I just want to spend a while roaming the forest.
So true! Back then the fight against the mmo competition was at its peak, and it made the engineers go the extra-extra mile for our vote, thus the EQ2 version of Greater Faydark was born. For sure one of the most beautiful, peaceful, magical regions that you can find in the mmo genre. Everything from the beautiful colors all the way up to the music and ambience to the lore and its characters is just so well done. A lot of the dialogue is voiced over too, making it an even better experience. And now imagine a region like Greater Faydark with improved visuals, better shadows, textures, polys, lighting, flora, water - you name it. You are never going to want to leave this place :) I hope to see some of these things become a reality after EQ2 switches to DirectX 11 by the end of the year (it's on the roadmap). Btw, if you enjoy Greater Faydark, feel free to watch this:

Greater Faydark ocean and underwater ambience. The video ambience switches to underwater after about half an hour.
Happy relaxation!
@@eq2relaxation549 I shall check it out.
This xpack was epic.. really hope eq3 is good
Agreed! Just goes to show that old xpacs and zones had a ton of magic put into them. I hope EQ3 can take that very same approach and turn it into something that has never been seen before. Gfay in EQ2 is a prime example of several elements coming together to create a unified, cohesive, beautiful and majestic picture. Now all you have to do for EQ3 is follow the sparkling light to show the way.
This is incredible. I wish I had played more of EQ2. Whenever I try to play it I never get to far because theres never anyone to play with.
Thanks mate! Gfay is one of the most beautiful regions in the entire game, and it's also one of the oldest. Just goes to show that old can be gold. I actually made a small DirectX11 mockup that I posted over in the community tab of this channel. In that picture I'm playing around with some ideas on how you could take the old and combine it with the new in order to recapture both the old magic and allow for better looking visuals. Feel free to check it out and let me know what you think! Oh and if you're having trouble finding ppl, that's pretty much normal in lower-end zones due to everyone being on the high-end of things after nearly two decades. I highly, highly recommend joining a guild on your favorite server, because that actually makes a night and day difference when it comes to grouping or running dugeons and raids. That's the first thing that I did when I came back some time ago, and there are a ton of super helpful individuals around to lend you a hand. Alternatively you could check out the forums or even some of the Steam EQ2 groups, but a guild is the best approach IMO. :-) PS: I'm on Halls of Fate -> Sturmlocke if you need anything.
@@eq2relaxation549 thanks buddy. ill eventually come back and play for a bit. when i do ill hit you up. i always appreciate your channel and the videos you create.
Hey, they just launched the Origins server and it is super populated. It’s super easy to find groups! I don’t think it’s f2p though :/
Wow this was incredible. This is definitely my new favorite channel.
Ty so much for taking the time to comment and for the kinds words. Very much appreciated *thumbsup*
I NEEDED THAT LIKE TWO YEARS AGO! you are a hero, thanks
Ty too for watching :) I'm working on another long one right now, should be able to finish it by the end of next week.
So glad I could find an ambience video for this area. Had the most peaceful sleep I’ve had in a long time when I fell asleep last night listening to this. Thank you for sharing!
Thank you for sharing your experience, glad you liked it! Greater Fay truly is a beauty to behold. These old mmos understood how important the overall atmosphere with nature ambience, wonderful music, beautiful colors and rich lore is. They just don't make them like this anymore.
I always liked the Temple Of Scale music.
Same here, same here. Hm *takesnote*
@@eq2relaxation549 yeah i like to two box in temple
@@LotBoy87 I'll make sure to pay it a visit and record some tunes in there
As opposed to Lesser Faydark in EQ I where brownies attack and pound you and the pained Unicorn gores you just for being there.
Oh the mobs in EQ 2 also attack you in this region, if you're on their lvl that is. I was just way too powerful for the besties in GF. :)
Amazing video. I will sleep well tonight.
Ty! Sleep well mate, wishing you relaxing dreams :)

The new Origins classic server is coming up and it's bringing back a lot of the 2006 goodness. Are you going to give it a go?
@@eq2relaxation549 yes good
I haven't installed yet - What is the mob level in the EQ2 version of Greater Faydark?
Hail and well met traveler! Sorry for the late reply, real life has me hooked right now. Welcome to the channel! And to answer your question, Gfay is a starting zone, so that means everything from level 1 to 20+ (and above) is present in the various corners of this beautiful forest. You start off at level 1 and follow the well done starter and tuto quests, which offer a ton of real life voice overs, and that'll take you from tree to tree until you reach the higher lvl places such as Crushbone Keep etc. Is this the first time you're trying out EQ2?
@@eq2relaxation549 Thanks for the reply! - I played briefly when it came out but I haven't really played more than the starter tutorial levels. My personal life was devastated from too much playing when EQ1 came out so trying to keep that from happening again, LOL. I still have my original character from way back when. WIll probably roll up a new one and take the tutorial again. I didn't realize the zones were as serene as your videos show.
@@hiker64 dont play it... EQ 2 was a great game but what they have now is a corporation milking naive people. if you want to get some oldschool feeling u are better off playin something like ffxi . Eq franchise and WOW classic is a crime against players...
@@PangaeaMusic So what you're saying is that I'm naive for liking the game?
