  • The 2018 BassMasters Eastern Open tour is a wrap with the last one taking place on Douglas Lake in Dandridge, TN. In this video, I filmed 2 of my 5 days of practice, and during the first day of the tournament. I almost gave up on editing this video. It seems as though my GoPro Hero 5's are getting worn out, if that's even a thing... From corrupt, un-fixable, video files to cracking sounds and the inability to "crossfade" sound clips without a resulting loud buzzing sound...
On the second day of practice/filming I caught a 2.5 lb Largemouth Bass on a deep diving jerk bait. That file was corrupt. I just so happened to catch a fish of the same size there on day of the tournament. That fish is in the video.
The best fish I caught all week was on my 3rd cast of day 1. It was an 18.5", 3.5 lb Smallmouth Bass. And.... CORRUPT VIDEO FILE!!!
Anyway, I hope you enjoy the video of the 2018 BassMasters Eastern Open at Douglas Lake with all it's glitches and errors.

Crap always seems to happen when recording! I feel your pain. Still, great video. It is fun to see the different bodies of water across the country. Keep up the good work!

Bummer it didn't go as well as hoped! Have you considered getting a lavalier mic and audio recorder? You'd have to wear it all day but the audio quality is worth the effort, and you can get a really nice setup for $100-$150. You would have to manually sync that audio track to your video's audio track but it's easy, and we'll worth the effort. Great vid though man, I enjoyed it!

603Bass Funny you should say that. I was just trying to decide which audio recorder to buy. I usually wear a lav mic, but only when I’m wearing a camera. I think I’m going to go with the Zoom H1n recorder. I’ve synced audio before, but never pulled the plug on buying the separate recorder. Sick of dealing with the GoPro audio issues.

@@ChuckPippinBassFishing you will LOVE that recorder. I have the Tascam DR-05 and it works great, but that Zoon is better, and a more compact size. I'll be upgrading to that over the winter, then buying another mic so I have two setups. Then whoever is fishing with me can be mic'd up too
