Even the Ruby-Spears closing logos have now received the HD treatment, especially the original 1981 version of the "Gold RS" logo, which is no longer overly bright, although the last seconds of the end credits theme now play over the 1981 logo instead of its synthesized fanfare.
@@kascnef I assumed that Warner Bros. Home Entertainment had replaced the Ruby-Spears Enterprises logo with Hanna-Barbera, a Turner company (1995). Glad to see WarnerMedia brought back the gold R-S logo despite the missing snyth fanfare.
@@TonyKanameKuran originally when it aired on the Cartoon Network the Hanna Barbera Logo (1994) wasn’t plastered over the Ruby Spears logo. That didn’t happen until 2011 when the Saturday Morning Cartoons Dvd was released. That logo was removed for every cartoon featured on the dvd. Fun Fact, Originally Thundarr Goldie Gold & action jack shared end credits on abc 1981-82 season. & Thundarr was also featured on the USA cartoon express. Back then Worldvision was HB & RS distributor.
Supposedly according to Buzz Dixon there was a script to revive the Thundarr series but it never fell through. There was a dispute with Hanna Barbera & Ruby Spears producing it. Both companies became a brother sister entity in 1981 & coincidentally some of the recycled animation cel’s from the flintstones were used in the 1st episode of Thundarr. Though Hanna barbera is the advertised copyright through Warner bros, If there were to be a revived series in the future it should be noted in the credits that Joe Ruby & Ken Spears are the original creators. It would be interesting if Warner Bros created a brand new series of Thundarr, it would work today.
@@kyleoliver3572 Yes, Tarzan was made by Filmation but Warner Bros owns the rights and the negatives to Tarzan: Lord of the Jungle. Just like Filmation made Star Trek: Animated but the negatives and all rights are owned by Paramount/CBS.
Another awesome classic I haven't seen since the old days on Cartoon Network. This was one I'm glad to see again. Now that I know this was a Conan clone series it makes it that much better. Now I think there needs to be a comic crossover with Conan and all his clones like this and He-Man as well as putting Wonder Woman in there just because.

Man. I wish Warner Brothers or Skybound could buy and own Thundarr The Barbarian to make a comic book. All they need is a potential writer filled with bright ideas and creativity of adventure, excitement, action, time travel, and crossover. Thundarr meets Galtar the golden Lance, Mightor, and more!
I always think of the opening whenever someone shows a city being destroyed and the bottom corner has the edge of an overlook of some kind, like you are standing there watching it. That's at the beginning of Terminator 2 and recently in the Fallout TV show trailer. Funny thing that, but it's just one of many cool little details that stick with me. I was probably 15 or so when this show was on Saturday mornings and just loved the heck out of it. Really wished someone would take it and make something crazier, but it's such a hodge podge of other stuff, it would be tricky. I saw a comment about what it's copying but I'm fairly certain they grabbed a lot from Star Wars. Sun Sword/Lightsaber, Princess Ariel/Leia, Ookla/Chewbacca. It was released a few months after Empire Strikes Back, so I'm sure all the story and everything was done before ESB came out.
Well... in fairness, Thundarr didn't know the gauntlet would blow up like an atom bomb.... he still wanted to kill the city's population though. Also I suspect not all of the inhabitants survived that blast given that most of their buildings collapsed. were there people inside them? O-o' More bothersome is that he basically just tosses Sarrott on the ground after the gauntlet blows up... The guy had powers before he got the gauntlet, you dolt! He's presumably still a wizard. Also... despite the catastrophe... I'm not expecting the "city of evil" to vanish overnight... Also ia thought just occurred to me... was the "city of evil" shrunken to protect it from the Cataclysm?
@@marhawkman303 Sarat was a weak wizard. Without the gauntlet he was no threat. He's no Gemini. He did have magic without it but he was very clumsy with his magic ,and is easily taken down.

I've got two things to say, reboot remake!
Ariel Ookla Ride 😂🙂

Wow! It has the RS labeling that the WB Saturday Morning 1980's Edition DVD set removed.

Thundarr destroyed a city and rode away ??? what a jerk
In his memoirs, Thundarr shifted the blame for that incident to Ookla.
