The new colors are great…that’s it for me. I don’t like the new Chou art style, the excessive IP characters, and I feel in some places the lighting is actually too bright to where you can see the ceiling and other parts I’d rather not see. Also removing the debney clock sounds (except for chimes) was a big mistake for me. I’d honestly rather they just kept the pre-2018 version. It was so good
*My opinion:* *Better:* -Façade colors (Much brighter & more saturated, & fits better there than CA which I think should have the classic white & gold) -Tick Tock (Technically more like the 1983 original, switched to Paris around 1993-94) -More kinetic energy in the queue -Presence of a Welcome room instead of none at all (Even though I don't particularly care for that take on the room itself, at least compared to 1960's-90's DL, and 92-15 DLP versions) -Decent mix of Japanese and English in that Welcome room -MUCH better lighting throughout the whole ride! -Finally installing the restored masters DL and WDW had been using since 2003 and 05 respectively! -Mandarin vocals added to Asia -Russian Band and Tahitian Drums added to Finale -Longer Goodbye room *Worse:* -WAY too many Disney characters throughout each and every continent!! -Frozen characters and castle replacing the classic Scandinavian Ice Skaters, not to mention those Princess vocals appearing THRICE as apposed to once like CA and HK! (This can technically go with the first one, but it also angers me enough to make it's own point) -Removing many classic Buddy Baker overlays from 1983 instead of restoring them like I think they should have (Which originated at WDW in 1971) -No longer using Paris full clock music (Except for Tokyo's unique beginning), which I think always sounded better before 2017 -Basically changing the Queue and Goodbye room from classic art in the same style as Blair herself, to an admittedly very strange/out of place art-style from Joey Chou* *(I actually know about and respect himself and his art, I just think his 2018 Signage/Queue/Welcome/Goodbye rooms are too out of place for me to enjoy them as much) As much as I absolutely love and even prefer the 1966 queue music, I am also still thrilled that they kept the classic 1971 Queue music and colored walls that originated at WDW before being removed in their 2004-05 refurb! This is also a great video, very well done! :)
I honestly prefer the different national songs played in this small world's area as opposed to just the small world theme played in the other parks. That and the pretty facade and queue are pretty much the only things I found noteworthy about the ride. The Disney characters inserted everywhere got pretty annoying. The maintenance is impeccable, though. If only they removed the IP and replaced some of the weird babyish art with the traditional style, then this would be the best small world imo (I'm probably biased, because this is my home park).

I noticed that the "it's a small world" part of the area music only plays once, where as before it played five times.
Very true! An interesting change
I personally like the new colors, lighting, and queue from the 2018 refurbishment! What do you all think got better/worse from the 2018 refurbishment?
I like it a lot! @Disneyland Musician

It got better despite the Disney characters

@@benjaminroberson1924 Very interesting, I enjoyed reading this a lot!
I'll be honest while the area music is vintage from wdw, I wish it had the area music that every small world
Agreed
WHERE’S THE JOHN DEBNEY??????????????????
They removed the Tik Tok sounds that’s about it. Tbh I don’t like those Tik tok sounds from the Debney version.
