Retired NICU nurse here....I was concerned if the plan was for a C-section at 36 wks(if the placenta doesn't migrate away from the os.) Many newborns still have respiratory distress at 36 wks. Scheduling it for 37 wks is much safer. Try not to be too anxious about it, just leave it in God's hands. 🙏💖
I was induced at 37 weeks with both of my girls due to gestational diabetes. Neither had any issues and they didn’t need nicu time. 37 weeks is a big milestone even compared to 36!! Praying for you and hoping the placenta moves but if not it will be okay!
Sonographer here! It has to be 1 cm away for vaginal with precautions and 2 cm to be in the clear! Marginal means still touching the os (opening) but not covering 🥰
So happy to hear that babygirl is doing good fingers crossed that your placenta moves so you can have a vbac. We love your family. Thanks for sharing your life with us.
Both mine came on their own at 37 weeks! First was two days before Emma actually. She was teeny but neither needed NICU time! It really just shows that every baby is different and it depends on how they are developed!
I had 4 csections. The baby will be fine. My first was not planned but done to save his life. The other 3 were taken at about 37 weeks . Fine and healthy. Do not stress over this.
I have a low lying placenta, my doctor said the placenta needs to be 2cm from the cervix to have a vaginal birth. He said if it moves down and goes below 2cms then it’s not save for a vaginal birth and a csection is recommended to prevent any complications. I hope you see this and this helps if it wasn’t already answered!
My first 3 babies all came on their own at 37 weeks all healthy. My last one my water broke and baby came at 35 weeks and 4 day and he needed no NICU thank god. Praying for you and baby girl hopefully it moves 🙏🙏❤
I had a csection scheduled for one week before my due date with complete placenta Previa. I had two bleeding episodes at 5 and 7 months and was in the hospital for one of those. I ended up going into labor a day before scheduled csection and had massive bleeding and had an emergency csection at 3am. I was anemic afterwards. I am glad your doctor will schedule you 3 weeks early so chances are you won’t go into labor.
My second son was still complete previa at 34wks. I had c section planned for 36wks, ultrasound at 36 was day before planned c section, my placenta made a last minute move to marginal. Dr said I could attempt a vaginal birth but if there were any issues I'd be pulled for emergency c section at the first sign. My son was born at 38wks 5min after we got to the hospital completely uncomplicated vaginal birth.
I had preeclampsia with all 4 of my babies, so I was induced with all of them. They were born at 37, 38, 36 and 34 weeks respectively. Tho they were all small none of them needed the NICU. This was a few decades ago so things are much more advanced. Your baby girl will be fine no matter when doctor say she has to come.
I’m jealous! My first was born at 31+1 via emergency c section due to preeclampsia (and she was only 2lb 11oz, so too small to tolerate labor). We did 45 days in the NICU, but luckily she was mostly a feeder and a grower there. I’m currently 15 weeks pregnant with #2, and hoping to make it further this time!! So happy yours were able to avoid NICU time, and got to come home safe and sound with you :-)
@@samanthawoods5290 They are a little quicker these days to deliver due to preeclampsia 40 yrs ago when I had my first I was in hospital for 2 weeks before delivery. My daughter got it more severely and earlier than I did. Delivered my grandson 10 weeks early. Healthy 7 yr old now Good luck with your baby
My grandma had placenta previa when she was pregnant with my mom, she had bleeding her whole pregnancy, my mom came at 37 weeks and she was very healthy and had no issues and that was in the ‘60’s. Your baby girl will be fine! Don’t worry!
I’ve had two 37 weekers. Only my first went to 40 weeks. My second two came at 37 weeks completely naturally. No induction, no drama. Just labor as usual.
Hi Rachelle, glad baby girl is doing well. Whatever happens Rachelle as long as baby girl is ok but pray 🙏 for you that all will be fine when you reach 30 weeks xxx 😘
I was put in a month and a half early on bed rest and never had a bleed but the really bad stuff happened during my section and after, It was 28 years ago but it was like yesterday but It shows you how great the doctors were and know they are soooooooo much more advanced but it is up to you not to lift. PLEASE TRUST ME, AND I THANK GOD for getting me through.
I’m sorry you have a previa!! We did IVF and had our baby girl a year ago. I had a complete previa that didn’t move so delivered via Csection at 36 weeks. I really hope yours moves!!! Will be praying for you!!!
Both of my pregnancies with my kids had placenta previa. With my daughter, it progressed to vasa previa and ultimately she was delivered at 36 weeks via c-section completely healthy and without NICU time. With my son (second pregnancy) I had complete previa which did move enough that my doctor said I could attempt a VBAC, but decided against it and he was born at 39w5d via c-section.
God's will and plan is with you. We love you and only keep you all in our thoughts ❤. I guess you get to meet your baby girl sooner than you thought!! 😘 . Will your mom or Justin's mom or dad come ?
Fingers crossed that it’s able to move in time! I know you and Justin have a name picked but I wanted to suggest “Mira” since she’s your little miracle baby! 💕 sending love from Boston
I didn't have placenta previa, but I did have an anterior placenta that moved completely to the very top of my uterus by the time I was halfway through my 3rd trimester. Fingers crossed!!
most placenta previas move to normal i think its like 80% do move. i had this issue with my second child and it did eventually move as well....and i went onto 40 weeks and had a natural water birth...keep your spirits high and trust Gods plan. it will be exactly how its meant to be
I had the worst placenta previa and 6 blood transfusions and they lost me twice but medical Is just so great, and my placenta is where yours is and in my heart I dont think it will move. The really scary thing was my son was using my placenta as a trampoline and he was 9 pound and it scared the poo out of my doctors. I live in Australia and all I beg you to NOT DO IS PICK UP THE KIDS, that is so important.🙏
My daughter is due with her baby girl on Monday. She had complete placenta previa and her placenta moved enough for her to have a vaginal delivery. They said it had to be 2cm away from the opening of the cervix to be able to avoid a c-section and it was moved enough at 35 weeks so it’s a gin for a vaginal delivery! We’re just waiting for her to go into labor! My other daughter is having a repeat c-section on Thursday March 31st with her second baby boy. I’m so excited to to be having 2 new grand babies to love on!! Who knows, maybe they’ll be born in the same day! 💕💕

I was born at 37,5 weeks, that’s when my mom went into labor (no medical reason or induction) I was 5 lb 7 oz so a bit small (also small compared to other 37 week babies) and she had to feed me every 3-4 hours but I was completely fine! No NICU or anything my mom and I just had to stay in the hospital for 1 night before we got to go home.
My son was 5 lbs 7 oz at 39 weeks. He was tiny, and had issues keeping his temperature up, and was born not breathing. He just turned 9, and happy, and healthy.
Hi Rachelle, It's a long time since I breastfed, but I saw an article on Facebook about pumped day milk and night milk. I just wanted to let you know for little girl. It makes sense that different properties would be produced in breast milk over the course of 24 hours.
Your family is in my thoughts and prayers hopefully your placenta will move and you can have your wish to have a VBAC I had 3 C-sections because my body wasn't made to have babies naturally. I hemorrhaged after each of mine unfortunately i got sick but my babies were in perfect shape except a little mucus in their lungs but they didn't have to have anything they stayed in the hospital with me I spent 17 days with my 1st and 13 days with my 2nd and 8 days with my 3rd they are all in their 40's now with kids of their own. They gave me 11 grandkids so I'm a happy grandma 😁❤🙏
I was induced at 37w3d (they wanted to do 37w but had to wait for the hospital to have space) and gave birth at 37w5d due to gestational hypertension. My daughter was born fully healthy and we went home after only a one night stay, no NICU time! They say 37w is term so hopefully that means the same for you :)
I hope everything resolves, that way you don't have to have her too soon. If it makes you feel any better, my last baby, was born at 37 weeks. Other than her being small, a lazy eater, and jaundiced, she was healthy as a horse. NO NICU time at all. 🤞
I just wanted to say my baby was born at 37 weeks due to fluid leak and she was healthy, no nicu or anything, we did have to go back to the hospital for two nights due to mild jaundice but other than that she was/is 100% healthy. 18 months now, just behind the boys and we are thinking about #2 in the fall.
Would you mind sharing her birth weight? My boy is coming at 37 weeks and he is very small so we are worried. Thank you and I'm happy that your baby girl is doing amazing ❤

My complete placenta preview moved completely off by 34 weeks. I was induced after my due date.
Remember it's not what your doctor allows its what you want you could ask for the csection to be later if you want.
In this situation you can't go in making demands. She can ask but it's really up to the safety of her and the baby .

It is a health risk for both I believe. She could bleed out giving birth
