I said this on your previous post, and I'm gonna say it here again... My Ryu was packaged in an older box (the front is updated, but the back shows the three wave 1 figures). The figure looks like on this video: less glossy skin, less yellowish tone, shading/details, lighter gi... EXCEPT the headband and hair are matte. I don't know.. I may have a 1.5 version 😅 But it looks more premium than this 2.0.
I literally just found the 2.0 yesterday at a Target myself. I picked him up and replaced my old 1.0 due to the skin tone being overall better in my opinion than the 1.0. My 1.0 looked too orange on the skin.
This is the one I was really waiting for. I feel like the comparison videos are needed on a line this awesome that just happened to switch factories. This is need to know info! Keep it up dude 👍🏼
One problem with the old Ryu was that the hair was a rubbery piece, and the dark paint was prone to rubbing off through play or posing. It was a lighter colored part of the head painted to be darker for the hair. I have the new one, but I can't tell if the paint rub issue has been fixed. I don't want to test it out. lol This is the same problem for the soft belt. Honestly, they should have just cast those parts in darker soft plastic and save themselves the trouble.
@@burntchickennugget600I have the version two Ryu and yep they cast the belt in white rubber. The paint began to wear off so I used black acrylic paint and then a matte varnish to seal it in. So far so good.
@@burntchickennugget600 That’s what I’m wondering. Fighting game figures like Ryu need to move at the torso and waist, so if the belt is losing paint from some posing, then that’s really bad. Why they didn’t just cast the belt in soft black plastic is beyond me… 🙄

See I wasn’t sure in then beginning. But after watching the video and doing some more looking I do like the newer one better. Even if it’s super minor. The faces to me do look better.
I just ordered the first 6 characters of the jada sf line! Been hesitant bc I collect storm sf figs..but at jadas price point and quality, man I'm all in! Can't wait to get mine in the mail!
I knew I wasn’t going crazy when I saw my Ryu had a more shadowing look on his karate gear. I kept looking at videos and pictures of other’s Ryu and wondered why theirs looked so white compared to mine. I thought maybe they just had better lighting. But I’m okay with my Ryu cause it gives it a bit of a wear and tear look to his outfit. Great for pointing this out cause this whole time I thought I was losing it with OCD or something. 😂
My Ryu's belt paint is like rubbing off easily.. I wonder if this was an old or new version, because the front box is the same as featured here in the video.. but the back shows the trio: Chun li, Ryu, and Fei long with many language "also available!" The face and body is a matte finished though..
I got the 2.0 just by virtue of waiting on a price drop but honestly I'd have been fine with either one as long as the articulation is identical, I do know there was some hit and miss QC on the original though.
A little advice. If you start the video with the new figure on the right. Keep it that way. For the rest of the video you flipped to having the new figure stuff on the left. Aside from that good video, I didn't know they reissued the figures.
I intentionally did that lol so you didn’t think automatically it was better and you weren’t just biased because it was “newer”. People tend to think always if it’s newer must be better. If I’m always switching sides you’d be able to make a closer to a real decision. I’m not sure it worked. But now this series is over. Next comparison video I’ll do that. Thanks for watching. I know you kept mentioning that your lighting isn't the best but it would also help if you uploaded in full HD at least instead of 720p. Also I'm upset because I just got Ryu a week ago and now I see that they updated him smh. Mine is decent though. I hope when I get Fei Long and Chun Li it's from the new factory though.
Thanks for the in-depth comparison, dude. Wish you could have used a different colored light aside from the yellow you're using, because I found it a little bit hard to differentiate the skin tone with the yellow lighting.
Hey Richey, thanks for the comparison vid. I think it really helps people decide. If you don't want to buy another Chun Li; I understand. I don't really see an issue with the face prints on the Ryus (unlike Fei Long) that you have. It seems to be more about the matt finish on the skin, which I think looks better. That said; the sweaty look could be post workout/fight.😁 I really can't wait for Guile, Cammy, Dee Jay and Blanka. Fingers crossed they get them in shops rhis year. Then there are all the other characters they can do that're on the back of the package.😃
I do see the scan on the lips and eyes and eye brows to be a little better atleast in my opinion on the new one. But it really is preference there is no wrong answers here. But Im Gonna do the chun li. Series has been super popular and you guys really appreciate them. So happy to help out! Appreciate your support brotha! 👊

I kept seeing reviews for the original release on TH-cam, so I figured mine was that and needed a bodyswap with a Paul's store exclusive body...turns out I have the less yellow version 2.... But this comparison is good.....

I already got multiples of ryu, as I wasn't confident that jada would get to all the variants I'd want, and definitely not as quickly if they even did them. I've had two kens, bisons and dhalsims on preorder with EE for I don't remember how long; and have *_never_* seen any jadatoys SF figures in a retail store. All I have acquired were from e-sales. I've said it before & will say it again... the fact that jadatoys isn't also selling their street fighter figures and megaman figures at GameStop is *_CRAZY!_* They're only probably the largest chain of video game stores in the U.S., so selling two of the most popular brands in video game history there probably makes too much sense to do. 🤦♂️🤦🏿♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏾♂️🤦🏼♂️🤦🏽♂️ 🤦♀️🤦🏿♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏾♀️🤦🏼♀️🤦🏽♀️ Jadatoys could even sell gamestop variants that are in black and/or white clothing (since Target would snatch up red variants). Ken, Chun Li, and Bison *_all_* had color variants in both black clothing and white clothing. GS as an additional retailer would sell more units. Just doesn't make sense not to do it, and the fact they're not [yet] means cents & dollars they're not making as consequence. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Well it’s more GameStop doesn’t want to business with them. Juhn said in a recent interview that they’ve had an extremely hard time getting into other retailers outside of Target even with good sales. I’m sure they’d live too but just hasn’t happened.
@RichyFigs I recall him saying there was difficulty with getting into retail during a ToyMigos interview, but my recollection is he was talking about stores like Walmart and Toys-R-Us, and how overseas some of those stores carry the line. I'd specifically like to hear him confirm the attempt/declination about gamestop. It's hard to believe gamestop will carry tekken figs from game dimensions and/or call of duty figs, but the jadatoys brand for street fighter or megaman are hard no's.
In an interview with Juhn from Jada, I think he said that Capcom instructed them the colors (that includes the skin tones), because their prototypes were different. The newer version with less gloss looks less artificial to me.
I just called it 2.0 just a silly thing I went with cause I wasn’t gonna put new factory in the thimbnail. Technically doesn’t even have a name so sure 1.1 is fine with me 😂

Probably some surplus boxes from the original waves got used before the newer ones, no point wasting perfectly good packaging after all.

That's the V1 with the trio. The V2 has the single character on the back of the box.
So that would be the factory 1 (old version).

I actually record all my videos in 4K BUT I must be doing the settings wrong. This will be fixed moving forward.

My Ryu was delivered in a bubble envelope and stuffed in my tiny mailbox. I didn’t notice packaging damaging but I plan to open them.
Yeah luckily I opened mine anyways. But I’d hate to tell everyone hey order from Amazon and then they ship them that way.
Amazon in the Netherlands send some of their figs in bags to , i even had this with a figure i paid 240 for.

I bought Ryu and Fei Long at Big Bad Toy Store, Ryu unpainted his hair while Fei Long remains normal. only paint problem on ryu belt and hair.
depending how long ago those should ve been factory 2. very rare a factory 1 is still in circulation unless you bought a long time ago

You’d want to check out player 2 Paul mart exclusive ryu. He got a new skin tone. But it’s not classic colors.

This only effects wave 1 (ryu fei long and chun li.) none of the newer figures will be effected so you should be good.
