@@ThyArtIsMetal While I absolutely love ERB after only discovering her recently....I have to be painfully honest here. I really don't think this one suited her at all (at least in the beginning, it really threw me off from the album version). She's trying to force too much of her power voice for much of it. I think there are other Nightwish songs she could absolutely nail though (I would KILL to hear her go ham on some Marco vocals). This song was tailor made for Annette Olzon, much like a lot of the songs from her era as the lead singer so it's hard to get a grasp on who the right range would lie with. After that LittleV metal mashup with Nerissa Ravencroft's cover of Down By The River, I'm of the strong opinion that Nerissa could be a perfect stand-in for much of Nightwish. That mashup cover had serious shades of Nightwish to me.
@@BlueCometACETho to be fair, Floor also tried her best singing it, but Amaranth seems to be an Anette exclusive song. I think Ghost Love Score would fit Elizabeth more.
@@philipsscrewdriver554 Oh for sure, Liz could do Ghost Love Score some serious justice. Would be funny seeing her vibe with a lot of the instrumental work too. Floor's a great singer though, don't get me wrong. I haven't really kept up with the band since Endless Forms Most Beautiful, but that one still holds a special place for me as her debut album with the band. Annette gets such a bad rap for being "Tarja's replacement" at the time. A lot of that fan dislike comes the fact the band had to shift their sound to match her singing style. Which I find is a real shame because I enjoyed a lot of what Annette brought to the table.
I would love to see Liz do Poet and the Pendulum and Escapist, especially the former I can practically hear Liz singing this part The morning dawned upon this altar Remains of the dark passion play Performed by his friends without shame Spitting on his grave as they came
Nightwish aren't really one of my favourite bands but it's always great to hear Hololive cover power metal. Would be great to hear Raora Panthera cover one of Rhapsody of Fire's songs.
@@Dargorthverse For Italian Rhapsody songs I'd love to hear her sing Lamento Eroico. Though I would like to hear her cover Warrior of Ice, Land of Immortals, Dawn Of Victory, Holy Thunderforce, Dargor Shadowlord of the Black Mountain and Silent Dreams.
Part of me is disappointed it's this song - i think the Anette albums were possibly Nightwish's overall peak, but this is one of my least favorite from that period. But then, i'm just happy to see a band i got into more than 20 years ago finally appear on Hololive's radar. Underrated song i think Liz could do justice: Romanticide. Look up the official live video on here, and you'll hear Floor nail one of the most ridiculous goddamn notes you'll ever hear in metal!
Well I'll be... a power metal by vtuber. Not much of a Nightwish fan (though I do love a few songs by them), but the stuff I'm into does not really work well for karaoke. Can't imagine anyone, especially a vtuber, doing a karaoke (or straight up cover) with any of Wintersun songs for instance.
As a massive fan of the Annette Olzon era of Nightwish (and Annette Olzon in general), I gotta be straight with y’all: I appreciate the effort, I really do, and I hope she had fun singing this…but I think the original is much better. There’s such a thing as too powerful and her voice is too powerful for this song. Annette’s softer vocals fit this song to a tee. Again, I appreciate the effort and I hope she had fun singing this, but as a fan of the band I felt I needed to get this out there.
I was thinking the same thing. She overpowered the song. There's definitely Symphonic and Power Metal that Liz would fit perfectly, but for Amaranth to work with her like this the instrumentals would have to be redone to be far more aggressive and loud. However, if she did the demo version Reach instead, I think that could work much better. Can't say about Tarja songs, but I feel like she'd be fantastic at Marco songs/parts.
@@madcinder257 Can't really say on a lot of Tarja's notes either. She was purely operatic so I think Nerissa could fit the bill there. Somebody had mentioned Ghost Love Score as a good song for Liz, and I'd be curious to see how well she'd do with that.
i always think people judge elizabeth so harshly shes always compared to fully studio mixed songs lol (which is a huge compliment to i guess) this is JUST with reverb guys... this is how she would sound at a live performance
@@Twise2-o8f A live performance also has more production, but that won't mask the fact that her voice is too powerful for Amaranth, at least the way the instrumentals are and the way she's singing it in this case. She's having fun, singing songs people like, there's nothing wrong with that. I would love to hear what a fully produced studio cover of Amaranth could be with Liz, but whatever it be, it should be a little better balanced than this. This is karaoke. The music is just the music from the song. In a studio cover, they can make the music fit her voice better.

Lol nah I've seen some "with all due respect I still prefer the original" comments in other songs she covered (*from unpolished live karaoke where she likes to goof along and experiment mind you). Honestly I always consider that a sign that you 'made it' as a cover singer; you left your personal stamp on the song that's way more interesting than just a pleasant harmless mimicry of the original. Or ppl just want to hate, like that one guy who prefers AI voice lolol
@@slitizationthis is real lmao, she's good enough to make everyone's a critic, like unconsciously they're putting her on a pedestal above others by comparing her to the original singers every single time.
3:10 long notes have theyre price 😂 beth sometimes is a little arrogant, but with her powerful voice she cant stay silent all the times 😊 after all songs are made to be sang 😊
She has an amazing voice, but she overdid it. You'll start to get tired mid song if you stay this high and loud all the time, the song's dynamics also tend to suffer because of this. Don't get me wrong tho I want to hear her singing more Nightwish and perhaps After Forever! Just my two cents, other musicians and singers will know what I'm trying to say
ERB is an amazing singer... But this didn't gone well. I mean, she did hit the notes, but her voice is too powerful, she needs to lower the energy in the stanzas and rising the power at the bridges and the chorus. Because the song felt like going down at the chorus. Nice try, anyway.
Agreed. She's obviously an incredible singer and voice talent, but if you're at full throttle for the entire song, there's no punch to the chorus and even a bit of the melody is drowned out by the display of force. Meant 100% as constructive criticism. I couldn't do better. Just my small opinion.
About time I hear a Vtuber do Nightwish. Hope she does Ghost Love Score at some point
