When I grew up in MI I couldn't make myself climb over 10 feet off the ground. It made me shaky. Then I moved to Boulder, CO and took up rock climbing. After a few years of bouldering and working my way up I finally lost my fear of heights. Now a thousand foot tower just sounds like fun.
WARNING @ 2:55 you are missing 2 nuts on the section through-bolts. They appear to be on the bottom of your top section , below the rotor. Hopefully you replaced the hardware on your down. Be Safe.
It's good to see proper Antenna set up and climb for a change. Instead of "tower installers "who turn off comments because they don't want comments on sub par installations. " worked so far"
Good work Ray. I've always wondered what goes into building and maintaining these towers, and you're showing it all. A question if I may. I'm not licenced, so this might be obvious to some... Are all of those towers feeding back to the shack? They must be some very long feeders. How do you deal with losses on RX? And for TX, do you just combat the losses with more power?
Ray you just blowing me away, every time again. Have a happy New Year. 73 de Your Friend Günter across the Pond 💯🍻👍

Paying attention! Yes, I noticed on climb up, but it was just one nut. I always have spares in my bag! Please Subscribe! :)

I use 7/8 or 1 5/8 hardline for long runs. Anything under 300’ can be used with good low loss coax. Like LMR-400 or 9913.
Can you show how beams are side mounted to the towers without rotators?
